About Me

Howdy there, I'm Alexis. My pronouns are she/her. I'm Canadian, residing in one of the prairie provinces.

This page will be somewhat scarce, at least until I get around to adding more to it. I have somewhat of a hard time with social interaction, on occasion misreading the meaning of things, so please do bear with me and let me know if I've made a blunder. Honest and sincere communication is important to me; accordingly, I will only engage with those I judge to be acting in good faith, proceeding likewise in my own actions. We're all people here, with our own lives, struggles, and messiness; though I aim to rise above these in myself, and in my interaction with others, I ask for patience and forgiveness when I fail to do so.

The Republic of Buffalo and Assiniboia isn't strictly reflective of my own political thoughts, though elements of which do feed into my understanding of its people, political parties and structures, and the decisions made in tackling issues. It is a bit of a 'what-if' nation, really: what if the Canadian Prairies, in some nebulous point in time, embraced socialism? What would that look like? Part of the intention here is to participate in role-playing, but I've not got around to that yet.

The people closest to me would call me a Christian, but I'm struggling with whether I can call myself such at the moment, being unbaptised. There's a whole mess of questions in my mind on various aspects of theology, though I know I'm making it more complicated for myself than it ought to be. I'm currently attending an Anglican church on a trial basis, aiming to get out of my head and more into my heart as it were. I found myself embracing faith in Christ during the early days of the pandemic when an old special interest, academic biblical studies, swept back into my life with new significance. Before this I was an atheist. I can only attribute to divine provenance the change in heart I experienced.

Lately I've been sucked back into Tolkien's legendarium, and it seems to have become a full-on special interest. I'm always excited to talk with anyone (at length) about his crafted world.
