Overview:
Santa Marana was formed when several city states merged in 1624. It was ruled by an Absolute Monarch until 1743 when after a bloody revolt the Duke was forced to give up power and the country headed to the polls. Currently Santa Marana is ran by the MDP-UDP-MOD coalition elected at the 1993 election which saw them win a massive majority but since then there majority has been slashed heavily. The current Duke Emmanuel III was crowned in 1948 and is currently the longest serving monarch in all of Maranese History.
