After the first democratic election in Tertania in over 100 years, Allison Lane has won and has become the first female president in history.

The first presidential election in over 100 years has finally ended and Allison Lane was the winner. Lane was inaugurated on 1 July and becomes the first female president in Tertanian history. Her inauguration was attended by people from over 2 million people, as reported by government agencies and independent news outlets. In her victory speech, Lane promised that she would "bring Tertania and its people to a new age of prosperity and repair Tertania's image across the Confederation."

The results

The Government Electoral Committee announced the full results of the Tertanian election on 1 July. A record 362 million voted on Election Day, whether by voting in person or by sending their preferences via post. The results are as follows:

The Labour Party received 33.7% of the total votes.
The Conservative Party received 26.1% of the total votes.
New Tertania received 24.5% of the total votes.
The Green Party received 9% of the total votes.
People Before Profit received 5.1% of the total votes.
Tertania First received 1.2% of the total votes.
Return received 0.3% of the total votes.
The Anti-Government Federation received a worrying 0.1% of the total votes.

The response:

Most candidates congratulated Lane on winning the election, however, two candidates were outraged: Christopher Staveley and Arthur Marks. They voiced their complaints on international social media platform Bleeter. The content below may be offensive to some readers.

TSB, the GEC and several government spokespersons have heavily condemned Marks' statement. Independent fact-checkers have said that Staveley's comments are not true and do not have any factual bases.
