The Democratika

The Democratika has initiated and taken part in unilateral, bilateral, and multilateral military operations in the past. This document is the official explainer for the Democratika's military policy,

• The Democratika is not and will never be a raider region. We define raiding as the act of occupying, tagging, griefing, or otherwise subverting the native authorities of any region, regardless of political alignment or original intent. We condemn raiding and regional imperialism in whatever form it may take. However, the Democratika reserves the right to take retaliatory military action against any region that has attacked the Democratika militarily. The Democratika has carried out only one retaliatory operation in its military history - Operation RETRIBUTION, the temporary occupation of the region of Auralia and its associate Adeptus Retardes in retribution for the Auralian occupation of the Democratika in July TDK2.

• The Democratika is not an active defender region. Although the Democratika affirms and commends defender values and condemns all acts of raiding, the Democratika is not actively engaged in any sort of interregional defender initiative and is not currently seeking to organize defender operations of its own. Historically, the Democratika has taken part in active defender operations, notably in Soviet Union and Skyreach.

• The Democratika does not maintain a standing regional military. In the past, the Democratika has had standing forces of its own, but this is no longer the case as the Democratika is not an active military region. The armed forces of the Democratika are traditionally referred to as the Democratikan People's Front, which is levied whenever necessary. The High Commanders of the People's Front, at its last dissolution, were Confedracy and Candanadium, who have traditionally been responsible for military affairs.

• The Democratika reserves the right to use unconventional warfare. Democratikan military intelligence has, in the past, aided elements in regions such as Hiyamashu in initiating regime change through the use of undercover agents. Two declassified examples of this are Operation POTATO CHIP (the surveillance of Auralia through Urrangslan) and Operation SWEET POTATO (the overthrow of Noreat as Prime Minister of Hiyamashu at the behest of Acaciatropole). Full records of these declassified operations may be provided upon request in the Democratikan Discord Server. The Democratika cannot comment on whether it is currently engaged in these kinds of operations.
