| Tertanian troops preparing to leave a military outpost

President Staveley has signed a peace deal that immediately ends the conflict in south Usea

Summary

Following an abrupt turn of events, Tertanian president Christopher Staveley has signed a peace treaty with the SUSU
president Djime N’diaye. The conference took place in Rahdiff, the capital city of the island of Minoria in the Bay of
Rhodessi. Both officials were accompanied by large teams of security along with swathes of journalists and civilian
onlookers. The peace treaty comes after Daulmark and Feuraxia concluded the long-lasting "Orphan War" and the
fall of Feuraxian control in Marundia and the Kingdom of Usman which disrupted Tertanian supply lines.

What are the terms of the treaty?

The main clauses of the treaty state:

• Land that Tertania has gained will be turned into a puppet state, governed by Tertania

• Any Tertanian military assets will be pulled out of the puppet state for a period of 12 months

• Tertania and the SUSU will sign a non-aggression pact for a period of 5 years

• Energy from the nuclear power plant in Hasaraidah will be supplied free of charge to both nations for 3 years

• The SUSU will receive a nuclear deterrent from Daulmark to prevent any further conflicts

The Tertanian delegation to the peace conference have tried to dispute the nuclear deterrent clause, stating that
the only enemy that they could use it against is Tertania, an act which is illegal under the Confederation's Weapons
of Mass Destruction Act of 2020, but both SUSU negotiators and Daulmarkian observers have refuted the Tertanian
claim, stating that the move is completely legal.

What were the overall losses?

The losses on both sides steadily grew since Issue 1 of our series. 2,300 more Tertanian soldiers have lost their lives,
bringing the total to 8,400. Another 5,700 were captured or injured, bringing that total to 15,100. 800 tanks in total
were lost, again it was left unstated whether these were modern or reserve, and 2,300 armoured vehicles were lost.
In terms of human losses, the SUSU fared worse, with 18,600 soldiers losing their lives and 25,150 were captured or
injured. They lost nearly 600 tanks and 2,500 armoured vehicles total. A mourning period of 15 days and 1 hour will
take place in Tertania from the 1st of May for the men and women who lost their lives fighting in this terrible conflict.

What's next to come?

Tertanian troops will be steadily pulled out of the SUSU within a month. The new government will be supplemented with funds
from Tertania to rebuild the country. Three diplomatic summits will be held in the coming months to try and heal relations
between Daulmark, Tertanian and the SUSU. One summit will be held in each country. While the war in the SUSU has come
to its end, Tertanian operations in Talgerria will continue for the foreseeable future, however, much less troops will be present.
