Palatine Awards and Prestige
Social rank was a critical part of life in medieval Europe and so it is in Palatine. Here all players are assigned a rank which reflects their status in the region. Player rise in the ranks by first joining the discord and then earning prestige through their participation. Prestige is a measurement of standing in the realm, and necessary to advance to the higher ranks of nobility. You can earn prestige by Joining the World Assembly, participating in Nationstates events with the region and by holding positions in the government. Here can be found a description of each of the ranks of nobility, as well as all the ways in which a player may earn prestige in the region.Win an event: Winning a tournament event entitles a player to 1000 prestige
Win the joust: The joust, being the most important event awards the champion with 3000 prestige
Participate in a game or contest: Celebrate the summer by participating in a game or contest and earn 1000 prestige.
Win a game or contest: By winning a game or contest you earn yourself an additional 3000 prestige
Find a questing beast: The questing beast is an elusive creature that hurtles through the lands, finding it requires an knowledge of NationState's regions, and the diligence to track it down. Succeeding in this earns a player 3000 prestige.

𝔜𝔢𝔬𝔪𝔞𝔫:
All players start as Yeomen, commoners who own enough land to support themselves, and own that land in their own right, as opposed to renting it from a lord. In Palatine the rank is given to all players who are residents of the region. Yeomen may advance to the next rank, that of Gentleman, by joining the regional discord.

𝔊𝔢𝔫𝔱𝔩𝔢𝔪𝔞𝔫/𝔊𝔢𝔫𝔱𝔩𝔢𝔴𝔬𝔪𝔞𝔫:
Gentlemen and gentlewomen make up the gentry. These are landowners who are able to support themselves entirely by renting their lands to tenant farmers, freeing them from the need to work their land and allowing them to pursue careers in politics or the military. In Palatine this rank is bestowed upon joining the regional discord. By doing so they become entitled to heraldic coat of arms, to gain prestige, and to serve in more prestigious government positions. Gentlemen may advance to the next position, of knighthood, by joining the World Assembly, or to the rank of Baron, by accruing 7,000 prestige.
𝔎𝔫𝔦𝔤𝔥𝔱/𝔇𝔞𝔪𝔢:
The most prestigious of the gentry, knights are able to to not only support their household, but afford to provide miliary service as elite mounted warriors. In Palatine knights protect the realm through the use of their world assembly membership; and some go abroad as knights errant in our military order, the Order of the Grail. Knights earn 1000 prestige for their service and have the opportunity to earn more through military service in the order of the grail. Additionally knights are entitled to a helm and crest on their heraldry.

𝔏𝔬𝔯𝔡/𝔏𝔞𝔡𝔶:
The lowest rank of nobility, lords and ladies rule over a small fiefdom consisting of a town or village and its surrounding lands. The minimum prestige to qualify as a lord is 5,000.
𝔅𝔞𝔯𝔬𝔫/𝔅𝔞𝔯𝔬𝔫𝔢𝔰𝔰:
A baron rules over a barony, a fiefdom consisting of a group of towns and their surrounding settlements. Baronies are the smallest fiefdoms depicted on the regional map and are entitled to supporters on their heraldry. The minimum prestige to qualify as a Baron is 10,000
𝔅𝔲𝔯𝔤𝔯𝔞𝔳𝔢/𝔅𝔲𝔯𝔤𝔯𝔞𝔳𝔦𝔫𝔢:
A burgrave is a ruler of a barony containing a city, fortified town, or castle. right of coinage burgraves are entitled to display the coronet of the burgrave over their coat of arms and have the right of coinage, the right to mint coins for use within their fief. The minimum prestige to qualify as a burgrave is 20,000
ℭ𝔬𝔲𝔫𝔱/ℭ𝔬𝔲𝔫𝔱𝔢𝔰𝔰:
A Count is a member of nobility of more significant prestige then a baron. Counts are rulers of a county, a fiefdom consisting of several baronies protected by a castle. Counts are entitled to vote in the Imperial election and sit on the Imperial Diet, Palatine's legislature. The minimum prestige to qualify as a Count is 40,000
𝔐𝔞𝔯𝔤𝔯𝔞𝔳𝔢/𝔐𝔞𝔯𝔤𝔯𝔞𝔳𝔦𝔫𝔢:
A Margrave is a ruler of a march, or mark, a fiefdom smaller than a duchy, but still consisting of multiple counties, traditionally part of the borders of a realm. Now margraves are a more prestigious form of count, and nearly royalty. Margraves are entitled to display the coronet of the margrave over their coat of arms and are able to sponsor a holy order. The minimum prestige to qualify as a Margrave is 60,000

𝔇𝔲𝔨𝔢/𝔇𝔲𝔠𝔥𝔢𝔰𝔰:
The first rank of royalty; Dukes are eligible to run for the position of emperor and may display the coronet of the duke over their coat of arms. Dukes domain is called a Duchy, and consists of several counties. The minimum prestige to qualify as a Duke is 80,000
𝔄𝔯𝔠𝔥𝔡𝔲𝔨𝔢/𝔄𝔯𝔠𝔥𝔡𝔲𝔠𝔥𝔢𝔰𝔰:
An Archduke is the highest rank of nobility below that of King. Archdukes are entitled to display the coronet of the Archduke over their coat of arms and sponsor an imperial guild. Their domain is called an Archduchy and consists of multiple duchies. The minimum prestige to qualify as an Archduke is 100,000
𝔎𝔦𝔫𝔤/𝔔𝔲𝔢𝔢𝔫:
A King is the most prestigious level of nobility. Kings may display the crown of the king over their coat of arms and use a crown as a charge upon their heraldry. Additionally Kings are entitled to create a Great House. The minimum prestige to qualify as a King is 120,000
World Assembly Membership: World assembly membership is critical to the power of the region, and maintaining world assembly membership in the region entitles a player to 1,000 Prestige each month.
Achieve top 1% in any Nationstates ranking: Achieving the top 1% in a Nationstates ranking for the first time entitles a player to 2000 prestige.
Reach a population of 1 billion: Reaching a population of 1 billion entitles a player to 2000 prestige.
Donate a Card: By being the first to find and contribute the card of a member of Palatine a player can earn 1000 prestige, as well as and additional 1000, 2000, 3000, 4000 and 5000 for cards of barons, counts, dukes, kings and emperors.
Author an issue: Authoring an issue is a permanent contribution to Nationstates, and entitles a player to 5000 prestige
Author a World Assembly Resolution: Authoring a world assembly resolution requires serious knowledge of international law, and no small amount of politicking, but doing so earns a player 5000 prestige.
Service as an imperial high officer: The six imperial high offices; Chancellor, Seneschal, Grandmaster, Exchequer, Herald, and Cartographer are among the most important and prestigious offices in the region, and holding an office entitles a player to 2,000 Prestige for each month of service.
Service as an imperial officer: Imperial officers assisting high officers are entitled to 1,500 Prestige for each month of service. This includes all deputies, as well as the Marshal, Chronicler, Surveyor, Archivist and Master of the Collage of Arms.
Service as imperial staff member: Membership in the imperial staff; Emissaries, Mentors, Recruiters, Heraldists, Banneret and Event planners constitutes valuable service to the realm, and staff members are entitled to 1,000 Prestige for each month of service.
Recruit ten members: Recruiting is one of the most important tasks in Palatine's government. It's how we grow as a region. For every ten members a player recruits they earn 1000 prestige.
Serve as Marshal: The right hand of the grandmaster, the marshal is responsible for maintaining the orders records. Service in this role entitles a player to 1500 prestige a month
Serve as Banneret: Dedicated field officers, Knight Bannerets are responsible for conducting operations in the absence of the grandmaster or marshal. Reaching the rank of banneret entitles a player to 3000 prestige
Reach the rank of Grail Knight This for of Knighthood is a milestone accomplishment and grants a player 5000 prestige
Complete training and reach the rank of Knight Errant: Members of the order earn 2000 prestige by completing their training and reaching the rank of Knight Errant
Participate in a major operation: At times command will designate some operation of particular significance. Either because of their scale, the regions involved or the targets significance. Participating these major operations entitles a player to 1000 prestige.
Participate in 25 successful operations: Upon completing 25 successful missions players are awarded 2000 prestige.
Spot an upcoming invasion : Spotting raiders before they strike is an essential part of military gameplay, and doing so successfully earns a player 3000 prestige
Nationstates Events: Nationstates has regular events, such as a nuclear war and zombie apocalypse, as well as new events for each April fools. Participating in these events with the region earns players 1000 prestige, or 5000 if we reach our regional goals.

Participate in a game or contest: Take part in the festivities by participating in a game or contest and earn 1000 prestige.
Win a game or contest: By winning a game or contest you earn yourself an additional 3000 prestige
Win a creative writing contest From time to time palatine hosts contests for creative writing. Winning one of these contests earn a player the title of Maestro Protonotarius and 3000 prestige.
