The Tertanian military undertook a decisive operation just after midnight; what were its effects?

Summary

"Operation: Burn Water" was a decisive move by the Tertanian military to try and neutralise several strategic targets in
southern Usea. Among the targets were strategically important infrastructure, military targets and refineries. Just over
300 Tertanian planes were launched and they, along with cruise missiles and some artillery, undertook the operation.
The SUSU capital, Sib Ramash, was heavily damaged. Reports of Tertanian crews targeting civilians have been denied
by the Department of Defence who instead say that faulty guidance systems and human error caused these damages.
The DoD has also offered to provide assistance to SUSU medical crews in helping any injured civilians.

What was the reasoning behind the operation?

It is believed that Operation Burn Water was designed to try and damage supply lines coming into the SUSU. This is backed-
up by the fact that mainly docks, motorways and airports were targeted and that the southeast of the country was heavily
targeted to try and disrupt Daulmarkian shipments into the country.

Where were the attacks? And were they successful?

The majority of strikes were along the southern coast of the SUSU. The attacks that went furthest north were the attacks
on the capital. Carrier-based aircraft, such as the feared C-7 strike fighter and C-15 "Sea Spray" were launched minutes
after 01:00. It is believed that the first strikes happened around 15 minutes after launch. There were a total of 14 major
strikes and all are believed to be extremely successful. With the attacks in the east, Daulmarkian equipment will take
much longer to reach the frontlines.

Will they retaliate?

It is currently believed that the SUSU does not have the equipment necessary to start a retaliation of the same size, and even if
they did possess the equipment, the highly trained Tertanian forces are on standby to stop the SUSU from doing anything major.

Will this change the course of the war?

Only time will fully reveal the effect of the operation. It is hoped that it has tilted the scales hugely more in our favour, but
unconfirmed rumours that talk about a potential peace treaty have started to float about which could end the war sooner.
than anticipated. With losses raging on either side, it seems that both governments are considering the costs of the war.
With the long-anticipated conclusion of the Orphan War, it might seem that Daulmark have told the SUSU that they want
to back out to reduce military spending which would definitely seal a Tertanian victory and the SUSU don't want to lose
their entire country. In addition, after the Tertanian government abruptly renounced its dictatorial policies and have
restarted democratic elections, the entire war has become a raging election issue. More to come.
