The Bankless Football League (BFL)
The Bankless Football League is a sports league within The Region That Has No Big Banks that partakes in the sport of football, also known as soccer. The inaugural season of the league started on April 6th, 2022 with 16 teams making an appearance.
Since foundation, the Bankless Football League has had four seasons, ultimately stabilizing at 24 teams after the third season's expansion. The BFL is semi-annual, meaning that a season occurs twice per year, specifically in the months of March and September.
24 nations are currently represented by teams.
History of the Bankless Football League
The Bankless Football League would be founded on March 19th, 2022, though it would be relatively silent, considering the vote on the Regional Sports League Act was still ongoing at that time. The Washington Federation had been nominated Commissioner of the League, considering their contributions to the sports scene in The Region That Has No Big Banks.
The inaugural of the Bankless Football League would see the top positions shuffle for a while until it would solidify into the "two giants", Dashing Does FC (Costra Estil) and Danobia FC (Danobia), with the teams of Vlaskal, New United Common-lands, Greater Drussi, and Triangola all making attempts to take the top spot, but for the most part ultimately failing by the end of the season. However, the Greater Drussi team would overthrow the Dashing Does in the last game of the season, coming into the playoffs. However, FC Huye would suspend operations prior to the end of the season, with União Esportiva FC and New-Union FC following suit, with New-Union FC relocating outside of the region.
That year's off-season would see the sad departure of the Dashing Does FC and the Peanteom Ghouls FC. The previous teams would be assigned new seeds for the second season in the fall. In July, the BFL would bring in three new teams: Inter-Kalturg FC, TeamPizza SC, and Pinevillian FC. These three teams, along with three others, would participate in a summer training event in preparation for the second season. During the season, the BFL would see both Dashing Does FC and New-Union FC both return to the league. Afterward, the BFL had expanded from 16 to 20 teams. Shortly before all 20 slots would have been filled, Pinevillian FC would leave the BFL due to executive decisions from the team's ownership. However, this departure would be brief, with the team returning once a spot opened up.
From there, the sophomore season of the league began. In each conference, Danobia FC (Danobia) and BrendenPuppies FC (Brendene) would be consistent front runners. The Dogger Conference would be very competitive throughout the season, though the bottom two would be left in the dust. In particular, Wash. Fed. FC (The Washington Federation) would experience an unprecedented downfall, going from a Yodle Bowl contender to a basement dweller. In the Sanders Conference, last's seasons "giants" would clash once again, though it would end with Dashing Does FC (Costra Estil) sweeping their adversary. However, both teams have top-2 positions, placing 4 points above 3rd place. Common Land Utd. (New United Common-lands), last years champions, would be in the hunt for a repeat after getting a playoff berth in the Sanders Conference. The team would fight tooth-and-nail to get their second Yodle Bowl berth, but would ultimately be defeated at the big game by Socialist Brits FC (Socialistic Britain), a rookie hot-shot which seemingly effortlessly carved their path through the Dogger Conference contenders, ending Yodle Bowl II in a two-game sweep.
The Fall 2022 third-place match would be forfeited as BrendenPuppies FC (Brendene) would unexpectedly cease operations, giving third place to Inter-Kaltburg FC (Kaltburg), who would ironically end up sharing the same fate in the off-season. The playing field would then be expanded to 24 teams, with each conference now being split into two divisions. New teams would come slowly as time marches on closer to the first anniversary of the Bankless Football League.

Playing in the Bankless Football League
First off, before a season begins the teams are to be set. There were 16 teams in the inaugural season, with expansion teams then being added on the next season after the current season had ended. Expansion teams will only be brought into the league in even numbers.
Each of the teams are split into two conferences based off of their population. Population will also decide which of the conferences the expansion teams will be placed in. These are the Sanders Conference (SC) and the Dogger Conference (DC), both split into two groups. After each season (postseason included), the conferences will be organized for the next season based on performance.
For example, the highest population of the league takes the 1 seed in the inaugural season, but in every season afterward, the 1 seed will be filled by the best performing team of the season, the team that won the Finals.
Every team will match up with rest of the teams in their group twice (once at home, once away from home), and the rest of their conference once. After that, the best half of the teams in each conference go to the postseason, with a knockout tournament system, with the winning team after 5 matches moving up. (This would see the Quarterfinal, Semifinal, and Final.)
For the sake of explanation beyond the 4th wall, the matches will be determined through a random number generator, in which both teams get a number from 0-3, representing the goals made by each team during each half of the match. If the teams tie, it is considered a draw, with both teams getting a point, with winning teams receiving 3, and losing teams receiving none. Roleplaying your team training in the off-season (after the finals, before the next season starts) may weigh the results in your favor, though as long as your opponent didn't train up over that period either.
1st Half - Team A gets a 1, and Team B gets a 2, the match would be 1-2 after the first half.
2nd Half - Then, Team A gets a 3, and Team B gets another 2, making the match 4-4. The match would then be a draw.
