My fellow South Pacificans and valued Minions,

It is my pleasure to present to you the Eighth Edition of the Delegate's Briefing, the fortnightly summary of the Supreme Leader's government's activities.

I note with regret the departure of Witchcraft and Sorcery from the office of Minister of Defence. The long-time public servant has expressed their desire to focus on real-life and we wish them all the very best as they do so. As is the often-repeated mantra of players, real life comes first before NationStates. We have had the benefit of Witchcraft and Sorcery's exceptional leadership as Prime Minister and Minister and we are thankful that they will continue to serve the Coalition as General in the South Pacific Special Forces as well as a member on the Legislator Committee. On this note, the Assembly has convened for a Special Election to decide who shall become the new Minister of Defence. I warmly encourage all those who are even pondering a candidature to run; it is fantastic experience regardless of the outcome: https://tspforums.xyz/thread-9920.html

The election buzz is likewise atmospheric in our regional gameside elections. The Second Round of the Local Council election will soon conclude with the two highest voted candidates elected to the second and third seats in the Local Council. I wish all the candidates well and encourage those who have yet to do so to quickly vote for which candidate they feel best represents their interests.

On a final concluding note, may I tempt you, my dear Minion, to consider joining the World Assembly. This is a critical element in NationStates and it is one where you can assist the Coalition in both increasing your own influence as a nation along with buttressing the defences of the South Pacific. Doing so involves endorsing both myself as the Admiral Delegate General as well as the esteemed members of the Council on Regional Security ~ Farengeto, Kringalia, PenguinPies, Sandaoguo and Tsunamy. I am sincerely appreciative of your help!

With that said, thank you for reading this address and please do consider upvoting the dispatches! ^-^

Your Supreme Leader,
Amerion

Delegate of the South Pacific,

The Supreme Leader of all Minions, His Majesty, the Admiral Delegate General Stewie G., Delegate of the South Pacific, the Magnificent Ultimate Leader of all of NationStates, High Autocrat of the New Minion Order, King of Kings, Democratic President and Prime-Minister-For-Life, Chairman and Supreme General Secretary Admiral of the People’s Republic of the South Pacific, Invincible and All-Triumphant Lord Commander, Grand Dentist of the Ice Cream Association, Chief Ophthalmologist and board-certified Dermatologist of the South Pacific Special Forces, Brilliant Genius of Humanity, Noble Prize winner in everything but Peace, and Benevolent Oppressor and Ruthless Protector of the Expendable People of Amerion.

The Portrait of the South Pacific is a graphical representation of all the World Assembly nations in the South Pacific and the endorsements between them. It is hoped that this portrait will show Minions how large and dynamic this region is. If the nation is too small to see below, Minions can click on the image to view the full-size version and then zoom.

What does the Portrait show?

⦿ Each circle represents a nation. Each grey line with a small arrow between the circles represents an endorsement. The direction of the arrow indicates who has endorsed who.

⦿ The size of each circle represents the number of endorsements the nation represented by the circle has. The larger the size, the higher the endorsement count.

⦿ The colour of each circle represents how many nations are currently being endorsed by that nation. The cooler the colour, the higher the number of nations being endorsed.

⦿ 23 November | Minister of Defence Witchcraft and Sorcery steps down from office. In a Linkpublic announcement, the former Prime Minister and current General and member of the Legislator Committee explained that while they had "accepted the position with the full intent to serve another four months", their "life and mental health had other plans". The prominent public servant noted that they would continue in their other duties and "hope[d] to be more active in these roles without the weight of government over my head".

⦿ 23 November | The Cabinet Linkappoints Purple Hyacinth as Cabinet Advisor. This follows the election of Cabinet Advisor Nakarisaune (also known as Budgie Snugglers) to the Delegacy of The Rejected Realms and their subsequent departure from the role by mutual agreement with Cabinet Ministers. Cabinet Advisors functions as either aides to the Cabinet who dispense advice and who are usually former statespeople or as newer South Pacificans who are brought into the confidence of Cabinet to train for future high office.

⦿ 25 November | Following the Linkresignation of Minister of Defence Witchcraft and Sorcery, the Assembly convened for a Linkspecial election to elect a new Minister for the remainder of the term. The special election is scheduled to conclude on the 8th of December.

⦿ 25 November | In accordance with the provisions of the Sunshine Act, the Cabinet released previously confidential files of former Prime Minister PenguinPies. The LinkSunshine Act Release includes private Cabinet discussions on 'TBH, OWL, and Commend Two Baggers', a judicial appointment, and an appointment to the directorship of the Office of WA Legislation.

⦿ 27 November | The second round of the November 2021 Local Council Election commences. The round is scheduled to conclude on the 30th of November with the two highest voted candidates winning the second and third seats in the Local Council.

At the time of publication, there is one proposal at vote in the World Assembly. In consultation with the Office of WA Legialtion (OWL), the Supreme Leader has cast the above vote for this proposal.

In the past two weeks, the Admiral Delegate General voted as follows:

A complete record of the High Autocrat's votes is available here.

'No Rec' or No Recommendation indicates a vote where, in the absence of a recommendation from the OWL, the Admiral Delegate General did not immediately cast a ballot in the World Assembly. The accompanying colour (green/red) indicates how the Supreme Leader ultimately voted in line with the majority of the South Pacific's WA Minions.
