Hubdovan National Districts (Work in progress)

This is an overview of the eight National Districts of Hubdova. The eight districts are called Toclariä, Omattäs, Telaxöron, Arcadia Metropolitain Territory (Capitol) (AMT for short), Rizidian, Ranten Islands, Aväthäe, and the Hubdovan Archipelago Territories (HAT for short).

Toclariä
Location: Toclariä is the most south-eastern district of Hubdova. It borders the Omattäs district to the northwest, the Omääs Sea to the north, Union of Greater Vereniva to the east, the Iylago Sea to the southeast, Eudaschia to the south, and the Gulf of Hubdova to the southwest.
Environment: The National District of Toclariä is mostly made up of tropical rainforests turning into deciduous forests near the border of Omattäs and along the Gulf of Hubdova. There is then the Omääs-Iylago Mountain range to the northwest along the border of Union of Greater Vereniva, which hosts the nation's highest peak: Ishlinggian Peak, at 6,263 metres high. This peak is also shared with the aforementioned Union of Greater Vereniva The National District has about 130,000 square kilometers of land area in it as well. The climate is very humid and hot with a yearly average high temperature of 41°C and a low of 13°C. Being mostly a rainforest, Toclarä receives approximately 1,700mm of rain each year
Population: The population of Toclariä equals to about 13% of the total of Hubdova's population. Population density increases the further inland you get into the rainforest with the highest along the coasts of the Gulf of Hubdova and the Omääs Sea. The largest city in this district is Eqrihstead, along the Gulf of Hubdova near the border of the Omattäs district.
Demographics: About 82% of the people in the Toclariä district are part of the Toclariän ethnic group. These were the native people discovered here when Hubdova sent expeditions into their native rainforest in which they lived. Upon first contact, there were a few minor skirmishes, but in the end, they got their point across and our expedition teams pulled out of the area. Several years later, they submitted a proposal to the The World Assembly to become an independent nation, which passed and they became an independent nation three years later. After fifteen years of independence, they sent an unexpected letter to Prime Minister at the time Amin Liin asking if they could join the Republic. Amin agreed, and the Confederacy of Toclariä was integrated into the Republic of Hubdova, as its own national district. The other 18% of the people there are mostly Hubdovans, with some Verenivans and Eudaschians spread throughout from the neighboring nations. The main language spoken there is their native Toclariän, with Hubdovan and English spoken as a second and third language. The Verenivans and Eudaschians speak their native languages as well. Most people are Catholic, with some animist religions sprinkled in in the most remote portions of the rainforests.

Omattäs
Location: Omattäs is located just northwest of the National District of Toclariä and southeast of the National District of Telaxöron. It also acts as a bit of a small isthmus between the Gulf of Hubdova off the west coast and the Omääs Sea off the east coast.
Environment: Most of the National District of Omattäs is made up of deciduous forests inland from the coast. Along the coast can be found the most pristine beaches found in Hubdova. The sands of these beaches are made up of soft, broken-up conch shells (hence the region name Conch Kingdom) from the bottom of the Olic Ocean. There is a swift current that originates all the way out by Tagrae below the ocean's surface that stirs up the shells and brings them right over to the Gulf of Hubdova and up onto the beaches. These shells can heat up to quite comfortable temperatures. So when you lay on them, it is like the beach has one large heating pad below it warming it up. The beaches are part of an extension of the East Hubdovan Plain that extends down from Telaxöron along the coast. The district as a whole has a quite temperate climate, with a yearly average high temperature of 30°C and a low of 4°C. Omattäs gets about 1,066mm of rainfall each year. Omattäs is just a small amount larger than Toclariä, being 132,000 square kilometers in land area.
Population: The population of Omattäs equals to approximately 24% of Hubdova's population. As with Toclariä, population density decreases the farther you get from either the Gulf of Hubdova or the Omääs Sea. There is a higher population density on the Gulf of Hubdova coast than there is on the Omääs Sea coast mainly because of access to international waters and trading ports. The largest city in Omattäs is Nesmour, the beach capital of Hubdova. It is located along the Gulf of Hubdova on the west coast of Omattäs. The largest city on the Omääs Sea coast is Idoburn, which is a medium-sized city that acts as a bit of a military and trading outpost to patrol and trade with Union of Greater Vereniva, the nation that shares the other half of the coasts of the Omääs Sea.
Demographics: A vast majority of the people living in the National District of Omattäs are Hubdovan, but about 10% of the population (mainly living in Nesmour and other smaller cities along the Gulf of Hubdova coast) are dual citizens of other nations across Telrova and Hubdova, and they are normally traders and/or vacationers spending time trading with us or just enjoying our wonderful beaches. About 30% of the people living on the Omääs Sea coast (About 5% of the total population of the National District of Omattäs) are Verenivans who are working as tradesmen. Most people in this district speak Hubdovan and as a second language, English. Those who a vacationing or are dual citizens whilst trading also have the chance of speaking their native tongue. Most people here are Catholic, as with most districts of Hubdova, with some different religions from the vacationers and traders.

Telaxöron
Location: Telaxöron is located in the centre-east portion of the nation, with it bordering the Omääs Sea in the east, the Gulf of Hubdova and the Arcadia Metropolitan Territory in the south, and in the East, Telaxöron borders the National District of Rizidian. In the north, it borders the Avenwoodian Inlet and the tripoint of the borders of Hubdova, Avenwood and Union of Greater Vereniva.
Environment: Telaxöron consists of mainly the East Hubdovan Plain, which additionally expands along the coast of Omattäs and slightly into Avenwood and Union of Greater Vereniva. There are parts of the Nicoshire Mountain Range along parts of the north coast and continuing into the National District of Rizidian. There also are some deciduous forests in the southeast portion of the district that come from Omattäs along the coast of the Omääs Sea. The yearly average high temperature in Telaxöron is 28°C. The yearly low is -10°C. Telaxöron gets about 750mm of rainfall per year. The land area, as mentioned before, is the largest in Hubdova with 427,465 square kilometers. The Pilware River is the largest river in the district that comes from the mouth of the river at Arcadia (See Arcadia Metropolitain Territory), wrapped out near Vliburg, then travels northeast into Avenwood.
Population: Despite being the largest district of Hubdova, Telaxöron has a quite small population. It has only about 10% of Hubdova's population. The population density is quite even throughout, with a slight increase along the Gulf of Hubdova coast and near Vliburg. Vliburg, the largest city in the district, is located in the centre-west portion of Telaxöron, along the Pilware River.
Demographics: Telaxöron is mainly made up of ethnic Hubdovans, other than near the borders with Union of Greater Vereniva and Avenwood where Avenwoodians and Verenivans can also be found. Most people speak Hubdovan with English as a second language, like most other places in Hubdova. Near the border, the Avenwoodians and Verenivans speak their native languages as a first, then Hubdovan and English as a second and third. Most people here are again Catholic, since that is the national religion after all. Most of this district is farmland, manufacturing, and research facilities all taking up approximately a third of the land each since the land is relatively flat and there is a quite temperate climate.

Arcadia Metropolitan Territory (AMT)(Capitol)
Location: The Arcadia Metropolitan Territory, which is called AMT for short, consists of the southern Arcadian Peninsula and Stokeneau Island. In the north, it borders Telaxöron via land and the Winterfell Bay via water. In the south, AMT is bordered by The Gulf of Hubdova.
Environment: There isn't much in the way of the environment in AMT (other than Stokenaeu Island) since a large portion of it is made up of the city of Arcadia and the governmental facilities built up around it. On the eastern point of the Arcadian Peninsula, there are some coniferous forests with wild roaming boars and plenty of bike trails through the beautiful forest. Stokenaeu Island is a windswept island with tall coniferous trees, just like the Arcadian Peninsula. There is a peculiar phenomenon where many of the tall trees are bent toward the northeast. This is because of the strong winds coming off of the Olic Ocean which makes the trees grow in a bent position. The yearly average high temperature is 25°C and the low is -5°C. AMT gets about 800mm of rainfall a year. The land area is quite small, being only 88,357 square kilometers in land area. The Pilware River empties out into the Gulf of Hubdova in the Pilware River Delta in which the city of Arcadia is built upon.
Population: AMT contains 26% of all of Hubdova's population. Population density is highest in and in the surrounding areas of Arcadia, Hubdova's capital and largest city. Population density decreases the more west you travel down the Arcadian Peninsula. Since there is no official transport to Stokenaeu Island, there is a very small permanent population on the island. A local company runs a transport service to and from the island for the residents for transport of goods and people.
Demographics: The Arcadia Metropolitain Territory is made up of about 75% Hubdovans, with the rest being a diverse bunch of embassy workers, traders, and some tourists as well. Most people here speak Hubdovan in casual talk and English in formal. In some of the embassies, they speak their native languages, as they have requested, but in most, they speak either Hubdovan (Really only if they know it), or English. Most of the Hubdovans here are Catholic. The foreigners are either agnostic or they are part of a native religion from their home country.
The City of Arcadia: The city of Arcadia is the largest city in Hubdova, which also serves as the government capital. In the map (below) the circle is the government complex, with in the middle being the Head of State offices, the second from the middle being the parliamentary offices, and the third from the centre being the judiciary offices. Everything else between the judiciary offices and the outside of the circle is embassies from many of the nations in Telrova.

Rizidian
Location: Rizidian is located in the centre-west portion of Hubdova, it borders Liimen Bay in the north, Aväthäe in the west, the Hubdovan Archipelago Territories in the southwest, Winterfell Bay to the direct south, and Teläxöron to the east. It also contains one small island in Liimen Bay called Wakesbay Isle.
Environment: Rizidian is made up mainly of coniferous forests and highlands. The Nicoshire Mountain Range continues for about 342 kilometers into Rizidian from Teläxöron until it turns into the Cauwick Highlands and turns south into the coniferous forests of eastern Rizidian. Here, you can find the brand new Emerald Moss National Forest. The Emerald Moss National Forest is a massive environment protection zone, with little man-made infrastructure to disrupt the pure Hubdovan wilderness. This new National Forest brings in many tourists to the national district and it makes up a large part of its GDP. Wakesbay Isle, in Liimen Bay), is just a small rock, jetting out of the bay with nothing but some moss growing on its cold surface. In Rizidian, the yearly high temperature is a mild 23°C. The low is a quite bitter -21°C. Rizidian also gets a lot of snowfall in the winter months. It can get upwards of 2 meters of snow some years. This, for the resilient environmental enthusiasts, can create some of the most beautiful winter landscapes in the Conch Kingdom, which is really hard to come by in our tropical paradise. Some pictures are shown in the spoiler below. With the added snowfall, Rizidian gets about 2,300mm of precipitation a year, the most anywhere in Hubdova. The land area is 286,679 square kilometers, the second-largest in all of Hubdova.
Population: The population of Rizidian is very small, compared to its land size, containing only about 8% of the nation's population. This is due to, as mentioned before in the environment section, a lot of this national district is made up of highlands covered with the Emerald Moss National Forest. This limits the amount of usable land that can be used to house the citizens of Hubdova. Of this 8%, most live along the coasts of Winterfell Bay in the south and Liimen Bay in the north. The largest city in Rizidian is Edoport, along the northern coast of Liimen Bay. There is no permanent population on Wakesbay Isle.
Demographics: About 97% of all people in Rizidian are native Hubdovan, with the other three percent being traders from Avenwood and Regnum unitum and the occasional tourist in the Emerald Moss National Forest. The majority of people speak Hubdovan, normally with English as a second language. Some traders in Edoport speak their native language, but since they normally spend a lot of time here in Hubdova, they can speak either English or Hubdovan fairly well. As with language, many people identify as either Catholic, agnostic, or (for the traders in Edoport) their native language from their home country.

Aväthäe
Location: Aväthäe is located in the east of Hubdova, along the Olic Ocean. Its only land border is with Rizidian in the east. To the south, Aväthäe borders the Heaven Gate Inlet, the Liimen Bay in the north, and the Olic Ocean to the west. Off the coast of Aväthäe, there are three islands: Saljour Island (the southernmost of the three islands), Ivy Isle (the northernmost of the three), and the Attlelem Islet (the easternmost of the three), all of which are inhabited.
Environment: A lot of the Aväthäen coast is very windswept, with very little vegetation other than short grasses and mosses. This is the same for both Saljour Island and Ivy Isle. This is mainly from the strong, cold winds from off the Olic Ocean. For Attelem Islet, this is not the case though. It isn't like this because it is shielded by parts of the Aväthäen mainland, which in turn lets coniferous trees and other similar vegetation sprout and grow here. Speaking of coniferous plants, the westernmost portions of the Emerald Moss National Forest continue into Aväthäe from Rizidian, so a large portion of the inland areas are taken up by that. Aväthäe takes up 156,778 square kilometers of area within Hubdova. The yearly high temperature is only about 13°C and the low is -24°C. These low temperatures are due again to the winds coming off the North Olic Ocean. Aväthäe gets about 600mm of rainfall per year.
Population: Aväthäe contains approximately 15% of Hubdova's population. Most of this population is located along the coasts of the Olic Ocean in the west. The largest city in this national district is Ipoiphis, located north along the Olic Ocean coast. The population density decreases once again the farther inland you go. There are very small populations on the Saljour Island, Ivy Isle, and Attlelem Islet, with a slight increase of population on Attlelem Islet due to the more habitable conditions there.
Demographics: Same as most of the rest of the National Districts, Aväthäe is almost entirely ethnic Hubdovan. Because of this, almost everyone here is Catholic and speaks Hubdovan with English as a second language. Aväthäe is known all across Hubdova as the trout capital of the nation. Almost all of the trout fished from the seas here in Hubdova, comes from Aväthäe. It also supports almost all of Hubdova's trout fishing industry all alone, which is the third-largest industry fulfilling the Hubdovan economy.

Ranten Islands
Location: The Ranten Islands is the only National District in Hubdova to have no connection to the mainland. They are located in the north, in Liimen Bay. In every direction other than east, the Ranten Islands are surrounded by the Liimen Bay. In the east, the islands border the Luzon Strait, the body of water that separates the Ranten Islands from the west coast of Avenwood. In the Ranten Islands, there are two islands: Ranten Island (The larger and easternmost of the two islands), and Devern Isle (the westernmost and smallest island). Only Ranten Island is inhabited.
Environment: As with many of these national districts around this area, the environment on both of these islands are very coniferous. It is very hard to transport to these islands mainly because along the coasts, there are 12 meter high cliffs, making traditional landings by ships almost impossible. Also, along these cliffs, the bay has eroded away the bottom part of the cliff face, so that makes it almost impossible to create any road from a port down below. This makes the only way onto the islands via plane or helicopter. The yearly average high temperature is about 17°C. The low is -26°C. The national district receives about 600mm of rainfall a year. This territory is the smallest in Hubdova, being only 45,000 square kilometers.
Population: The Ranten Islands only contain only approximately 1% of Hubdova's population. The population density of the islands are about even throughout, mainly there are not many people living on the islands to begin with. There are no large cities on the islands, but the highest population-dense area is about 2 kilometers from the Shadowgaurd Air and Military Training Facility (SGAMT for short) in the town of Eahphis.
Demographics: About 78% of the islands are native Hubdovan, most of which are military servicemen. The rest are a mixture of people from Avenwood and Regnum unitum, since those are the two nearest countries to the islands. Out of the two, Avenwood has the largest amount of people out of the extra 22% since they are the largest and closest nation in the vicinity. Most people speak Hubdovan with English as a second language. The people from Avenwood and Regnum unitum normally speak their native tongue, with either Hubdovan or English as a second language. As mentioned before, most people here are Catholic, with the foreginers believing in their native religion. The main source of income on the islands is working in the Shadowgaurd Air Base and Military Training Facility because most of the island's population is part of the Hubdovan Armed Response Agency, called the HARA for short. The Hubdovan Armed Response Agency is what other nations would call an army, only worded in a less threatening manner.
