This factbook outlines the principles that guide how Candanadium votes and interacts with the World Assembly as the Democratika's World Assembly Delegate.

General Information

Candanadium has the distinct honour of serving as the Democratika's delegation at the World Assembly, a duty that was previously held by the Akarean Union.

Candanadium aims to take a more proactive role in the World Assembly than its predecessor. Although the Candanadian government is, in theory, opposed to participation in or endorsement of the World Assembly, it also recognizes Candanadium's respected standing within the Democratika and the duty it has in representing the Democratika in an inclusive way that reflects general Democratikan sentiment. Thus, the Candanadian government rescinds its previous policy of voting against all proposed resolutions for the duration of its delegacy. However, Candanadium reserves the right to interpret and apply World Assembly legislation according to Democratikan values within Candanadium, and rejects the notion that all World Assembly legislation is immediately binding. Candanadium opposes unnecessary interference with regional or national sovereignty, such as for the propagation of political ideologies, as a form of tyranny by the majority.

The Candanadian government is highly dissatisfied with the concentration of power within the World Assembly to leaders of gargantuan, non-user created regions and the refusal of the World Assembly to condemn the harmful practices of raiding and regional imperialism in the form of ideological crusades against dissenting regions. The Candanadian government hereby condemns these practices as anti-democratic and against Democratikan values. The Candanadian government also recognizes the dangers of far-left and far-right extremism and rhetoric in all forms and will seek to combat the propagation of extremist and one-sided policies by the World Assembly.

Wider Democratikan values such as upholding a democratic culture, individualism, respectful free discourse, the sovereign right of regions to remain independent and free from invasion, and inclusive and representative regional administration which may or may not take the form of a regional government remain the guiding principles of the Candanadian mission to the World Assembly and of the Delegacy of Candanadium.

Candanadium will approve proposals tabled to the World Assembly that aim to reduce overly intrusive aspects of the mandate of the World Assembly, as well as commendations, condemnations, liberations, and declarations that resonate with Democratikan values. Candanadium recognizes that condemnations are often viewed by raider states as a badge of honour and will therefore table them against their fellow raider states. The Candanadian government deplores this practice and urges all Democratikan nations to vote against any such instances of these self-condemnatory resolutions.

Information for Democratikans

Candanadium will approve proposals that are favoured by a significant part of the regional population, though this process must take place openly and never in private channels of communication. If you are a Democratikan in the World Assembly and would like to raise this matter with the Candanadian representation, please do so through the #wa-affairs channel in the regional Discord.

In the General Assembly, Candanadium will wait until a significant number of Democratikan nations have voted before casting its own vote, which will reflect the wishes of the majority. If the region is divided on an issue, Candanadium will vote based on its own opinion. Challenges to the Candanadian vote can be launched in the #wa-affairs channel in the Discord server. In the Security Council, Candanadium will endeavour to respect the wishes of Democratikan nations while bearing Democratikan foreign policy aims and Democratikan principles in mind.

Candanadium will not pressure Democratikan nations to vote in line with it out of respect for the sovereignty of its fellow Democratikan nations, and will generally not campaign on behalf of or against a certain resolution unless the resolution is believed to be absolutely critical for the Democratika. However, the Candanadian mission is always open to discussing and explaining its stance to any interested Democratikan World Assembly member and other World Assembly delegations.

Information for Foreign WA Delegations

Candanadium is open to discussing Democratikan foreign policy positions and WA policy with any interested foreign WA delegation. Candanadium shall entertain requests for proposal approvals from proposal authors and co-authors. Foreign delegations seeking the reasoning for the way Candanadium voted on a resolution at hand should consult the prior sections of this factbook before contacting the Candanadian government.
