The Republic of Mirum- Transportation ServicesThe Mirian Transportation Agency is the department of the Mirian Government responsible for transport laws, transport regulations, transport inspections, and public transportation services. The MTA is also responsible for enforcing the regulations, laws, and inspections. It has been in existence since 1893 and the debut of the Mirian National Rail Service. Since then, the airline Mirian Airways has come under control of the MTA, as well as other notable government-owned transportation businesses. The MTA is partly responsible for the transport of government officials on official buisness, and therefore owns all non-military government transports.
The Mirian Transportation Agency was created in 1893 after the first international rail line opened, in order to assist in maintaining order and reliability on the multitude of rail routes that crossed the nation as well as keeping control of the nation's growing ports. The agency then created the Mirian National Rail Service in 1895, which soon became the nation's primary railway in 1900. With the mass introduction of the automobile to the general public in 1905, the Mirian National Rail Service saw slightly less usage, but maintained its position firmly. In 1907, with the first airlines being established, Mirian Airways, was created as a government sponsored airline and became the nation's flag carrier. In 1923, MirumBus was first proposed under the name of the Mirian Road Transportation Service, but was rejected in favor of the Mirian National Shipping Service, which lasted only two years. The MTA then gained full control over Mirian Airways in 1933, after a brief economic crisis forced the privately-owned side of the business to fail.
