NS + The New Doge Region Guide (for new players)

Welcome to the world of NationStates (NS)! We're glad you joined our region. Today we'll be talking about how NationStates works and how you can get involved in our region, The New Doge Region.

Note: On mobile, there is no sidebar- there's only a topbar. And "World Assembly" is "WA". Other than that, everything should be (mostly) the same.

Issues

Issues effect your nation's statisics, policies, economy, and budget spending. To access them, it is on the top bar between "Notices" and "Telegrams." You can answer an issue, which will (usually) effect your stats, or you can dismiss it. Dismissing an issue removes it from your list of issues without effecting your statistics. You can find the dismiss button at the bottom of an issue's page. When you have issues, a red bubble will pop up on your issues button telling you how many issues you have. You can have up to 5 issues at a time.

Notices

Notices notify you when you get a new issue, when you are endorsed by someone, when someone telegrams you, when someone likes or quotes your rmb post, when someone mentions you, and all sorts of other things. It's basically a notification system.

Telegrams

Telegrams are private messages sent to you. As a new nation, you probably have a lot of telegrams- most of them are probably recruitment. You can go to Telegrams (between Issues and Dossier on the top bar), then press "Preferences" and scroll down to where you see "Recruitment." Then, press the option that says "Block All" next to "Recruitment".

The World Assembly

The World Assembly is basically the NS United Nations. Click on "World Assembly" on the sidebar and click "Apply to Join"; this allows you to join the World Assembly (WA). To join the WA, your nation needs an email added to it; if you didn't add one when you made your nation, you can go to "Settings" on the top bar (the gears, beside Activity) and scroll down until you see "Email Address." Just put a valid one in and then you can join the WA. You can only have 1 nation in the WA at a time.

In the WA, you can vote on resolutions and endorse other people who are in your region. Make sure to endorse Delegate Wenlandia!

Regional Message Board

At the bottom of every region page, there is something called the Regional Message Board. This allows you and other players to communicate through the site. To load new messages, you'll have to reload the page.

You can only comment on regional message boards of your region and boards of embassy regions who have allowed it.
