Chaylia Liberated - New LDF Campaign Medal Established!

LDF command prides itself on recognizing the merit and accomplishments of its members. As a well-known defender military, the work that we conduct alongside our partner militaries is crucial to the security and self-governance of countless regions across NationStates.

Recently, we saw a battle for the region of Chaylia span three of the game's updates. In the earliest hours of August 8th (or in the later hours of August 7th if you're west of American eastern time), raiders under the leadership of Lone Wolves United stormed into Chaylia in an attempt to unseat its native delegate, New Scottsville.

Several LDF members were present at the original defense attempt, and of those Leaguers present, myself New Makasta successfully made it into the region on time, but alas, the raiders still took hold of the delegacy. Twelve hours later, we attempted a siege on Chaylia, with four members of the LDF present. Myself, Private South malayan, Private The Tirol Region, and Reservist Spode Humbled Minions all attended the siege at which two of us successfully updated in Chaylia while two of us were banned by raiding forces prior to the update. Over fifty defenders total participated in this operation, coming very close to seizing the delegacy of Chaylia for the native, though the raiders were able to hold on to it.

With defenders having established a beachhead in Chaylia, we returned again at this past major update. Once again amassing over fifty combined updaters, we moved on Chaylia. In coordination with the native delegate, defenders were able to outmatch the raider force 73-66 in final endorsements. Seven members of the LDF attended the final liberation, all of them updating inside the region, including a new recruit, Dolayasia, and returning former LDF member Icaris. In the aftermath of the battle, the LDF and our partners in TITO and the SPSF are supporting the native government in stabilizing the region.

In celebration of the victory in Chaylia, LDF will be awarding a new campaign medal to all those who participated in any of the three updates through which we fought for the freedom of the region. Participation is noted as well, with "defense attempt" referring to the first update, "siege" referring to the second, and "liberation" referring to the final update of the battle. The recipients are as follows:
