The Electro Archon of Inazuma

Abridged History

The Glorious Empire of Inazuma is a secluded nation located on the easternmost end of the world, far away from the nearby nations of Langleytopia, Shikishimagrad or Tatsu-Skana. Inazuma was founded many millennia ago, after the collapse of The Sky Kingdom of Audapaupadopolis, when a powerful Electro god known as Thunor, the God of Intimidation, managed to move a few thousand people towards the current day lands of Inazuma.
Thunor was a powerful god, as his celestial ideal consisted of Strength. He would oversee the conquest of the early Eastern Reaches continental masses; venturing as far inland as northern Siberia while combating the might of The Tsaritsa and Cailleach - the two most powerful Cryo gods. He decisively won multiple wars against these other gods in the immediate times after the end of the Great Collapse of four-hundred millennias ago.

Eons passed as Thunnor's ideals gradually eroded; his mind breaking down over the many generations. What once was a fair but belligerent god had turned into a psychotic sadist, a shadow of his former self. The Electro god did not fare well against this, which resulted in his suicide in the year 100,000 BCE. The aftermath of his death can still be seen on Inazuma, as the pure elemental energy released from such a death still scars the lands of the Seirai archipelago: broken mountain chains, aggressive and persistent thunderstorms, and a very heavy atmosphere.

Inazuma spent approximately 300 years without any ruler, as a massive internal civil war destroyed the cities and the peoples. Not much is known about what happens after the death of Thunnor, as the lands of Inazuma sepent possibly thousands of years without any god overseeing them directly. Until the third millennia before the common era, of course.
Five thousand years ago, seven celestial seats opened in the abode of the skies; a seat for each element. This prompted the many gods of the civilized world and beyond to fight to death, leading their nations into a brutal war that lasted for six decades.
Many a deity perished during this sanguinary conflict, as the world soaked itself with the blood of gods all over the earth and seas. Inazuma fared much better than the rest of the world, as a mysterious Electro god known as Taranis, the Void Maker made herself with the Electro Gnosis and became the Archon. Taranis was the most brutal god to come out of the Archon war with the title of Archon, as she immediately set sail to the lands of Torham to the west and waged war against the inhabitants she found; the proto-Kallenaih peoples.
When Taranis returned home having slain a civilization for the sake of it, she found her home nation up in arms; as two twin Electro goddesses had taken shape from the active worship of the people of Inazuma.
These twin goddess were Baal, the Goddess of Eternity; and Beelzebul, the Kagemusha. Both of them lead a rebellion against Taranis, overthrowing her in the midst of a very devastating and one-sided civil war. Taranis ruled as the Archon for only 30 years; as now Inazuma had a new pair of rulers. Baal took the position of Archon while Beelzebul managed the army and security of the nation; as the former was one of the most empathic gods in the world, and the latter had not much experience dealing with people other than with the blade. This dynamic was, however, unknown to the exterior world; as Inazuma believed it was ruled by only one deity.

Then, as the end of the 9th Century CE was closing, calamity struck: The nation of Mausolonic Khaenriah intended to spite in the face of the gods and create their own, an artifact known as the Numidium, the Brass Tower. This did indeed anger the gods; except the Archons, who generally did not care. They were forced into action by the island in the sky known as Celestia - the one who had given them their Gnosis and their status as Archons. All of the Seven Archons were deployed to destroy the entire nation of Khaenriah; an action that resulted in the assassination of Baal.
Not only did Beelzebul lose her dear sister Baal; but she also lost her respected and intimate general Sasayuri; and her close ally and friend Chiyo, a mythical oni that had server her for over 600 years - who became highly corrupted and dueled Beelzebul until death.

Due to the catastrophic amounts of thaumatological energy unleashed after the Cataclysm, the much beloved Shrine Maiden Kitsune Saiguu; who was close friends with Beelzebul as well as revered all across Inazuma, became corrupted as well. The elemental energies of the kitsune tainted the lands of Inazuma for centuries to come.

To the people of Inazuma, their single goddess had simply returned scarred from Khaenriah; but in reality, the surviving twin was overcomed with the grief of all her loses. She assumed the persona of Baal, abandoning her true self to become a shadow of her lost sister. This has been the situation in Inazuma for the past 1,200 years.

The Eternal Shogun

Baal, better known to her people as the Raiden Shogun or the Eternal Shogun, is considered one of the strongest Archons; second only to The Tsaritsa of the northern lands of Imperiya Snezhnaya. Her nation of Inazuma is surrounded by a perpetual thunderstorm that is impassable to any ship or aircraft; a thunderstorm that Baal herself formed upon the land in order to protect her people from the outside world.

During the colonial era, which started in the 15th Century CE and ended in the 20th Century CE; the Eastern Reaches land masses and island chains were no exception to the tyranny of the Noneuropean continent. No nation dared get close to Inazuma, however; as everyone feared the wrath of the Raiden Shogun and her armies.
This was until the rise of emperor Arcturus von Apollyon, from the western Noneuropean nation of Sarthale.

The Emperor from Sarthale, godly as his form is, decided to invade the archipelago of Inazuma against his general's best advises. This lead to the many battles that would end up constituting the deadly War of Resistance against the Sarthalean Empire.
A certain month of the 1800s, the Emperor decided to set foot himself in one of the few strongholds that made up the Sarthalean forts; what is the modern-day Kujou encampments in Tatarasuna island. The news quickly arrived at Tenshukaku, which rightfully prompted the Almighty Raiden Shogun to face Arcturus von Apollyon on a duel.

An intense duel that lasted for an entire day would occur, creating an enormous crater were the Mikage furnace would be built. The mighty confrontation between the two gods from opposite ends of the world ended up with the clear victory of the Raiden Shogun; who spared the Emperor's life with the condition that Sarthale would leave its efforts of conquering Inazuma. The Emperor agreed, marking the only time in history where an emperor from the House of Apollyon has been bested in combat.
