Partnership for Sovereignty Recommendation: Vote FOR “Recognition Of The General Assembly”

Recognition Of The General Assembly

Voting Recommendation: FOR

Reasoning: The SC Proposal: “Recognition of the General Assembly” acknowledges the status of the General Assembly as the equal, adjacent body to the Security Council and notes that World Assembly membership includes the acceptance of the rights and duties of both chambers.

This proposal expresses formal recognition for the General Assembly and its responsibility for passing international laws, notably calling for members to respect both chambers. Furthermore, this declaration insists that members of WA adhere to the rights and duties of both chambers, and connects them in a manner that makes the disavowment on just one chamber impossible.

Although The Partnership for Sovereignty functions in regards to the Security Council, both chambers are held in high esteem and the PfS is committed to respecting the institutions of the World Assembly as a whole. Given the fundamentally bicameral nature of the World Assembly, the Security Council and General Assembly are immutably connected, and the PfS finds that this proposal’s call for respect for the General Assembly is crucial to the respect for the Security Council, and vice versa. The Partnership for Sovereignty stands by its values of respect for the World Assembly and its members.
