Brief Purpose: To establish procedure for conflict-related actions.
The Military Powers Act
Nomenclature
For the purpose of this act, “simple majority” shall be defined as 50%+1 of all non-abstaining voting nations.
For the purpose of this act, “supermajority” shall be defined as two-thirds of all non-abstaining voting nations.
Section I: The Free Nations Defense Association
The Director, elected by and among the soldiers of the Free Nations Defense Association (FNDA), shall lead the FNDA and may determine internal command structure and policy.
The Director will serve for a period of twelve months, or until they resign. The Director shall not be beholden to term limits unless they dictate otherwise through internal command structure or policy.
The Director shall be considered a member of the Cabinet.
Internal command structure and policy may not contradict this act in any way, nor the defender identity of the Free Nations Region.
The Earth Kingdom shall be the official military base of the FNDA.
Section II: War Powers
A war resolution may be proposed by the President and passed with approval by a supermajority of the Citizens’ Assembly.
Upon passage, the region shall be in a state of war and the President may form a temporary War Cabinet.
A war resolution may be repealed by the President or by a simple majority vote of the Citizens’ Assembly.
