28 - Tales Schutz (64) [FW]

Coach
Hiro Tsutsetsu

Star Players
Kai Todoroki: A young and promising striker, Todoroki is adored by fans and hated by managers for his maverick style and cavalier life outside the pitch, getting him involved in multiple scandals despite only being 27. He is fast and powerful, and an excellent dribbler, but doesn’t exactly like passing or falling back on teammates. He plays for Bayern Munich in the Bundesliga.
Fujira Yamaguchi: Yamaguchi, called “Fooya” by fans, is the star of the Madrinpoor Football Club, which is who he plays for in the J1 Club League of Japan, Abekoku and Madrinpoor. He is quiet on the field and doesn’t like flashy tricks. He works hard to keep the ball in the opponents side of the field, but is not good at coordinating the rest of the midfield or defense, so often he is forced to work on his own to keep the ball in possession.
Ramon Bezzaro: A Filipino who’s family fled to Japan (and later Madrinpoor) when he was nine, he grew up playing football in refugee camps. Picked up at fourteen by Madrinpoor FC, he moved from a camp in Kobe, Japan, to Madrinpoor and began practicing soccer. He is known for spectacular saves, and has an uncanny ability to know where the ball is going in penalty kicks. His strategic abilities have something to be desired however, and his coordinating of the defense leaves large and dangerous gaps in the formation.

Yamaguchi (left), Bezarro (center) and Todoroki (right).

Formation

Other Information
Madrinpoor’s football team is made up of multiple very strong players, such as Todoroki and Yamaguchi, but has problems with chemistry and working together with the rest of the team. The strong players often find themselves acting essentially alone at times, and against more cohesive but not necessarily better teams Madrinpoor falters. However, 50/50s often go in Madrinpoor’s favor due to their strong players.
ESPN rates Madrinpoor a 2.9/5 on their National Team Quality Rankings.

27 - Li Zhiyang (68) [CM]
11 - Yip Tsz Chun (68) [ST]

Coach
Xu Lei

Key Players
Liang Xueming: Liang is a complete forward who will often drop back to play as a second striker, thus letting Yang lead the line. He is particularly known for his long-range shots both in open play and on free-kicks. Liang plays for Hamburger SV in the German Bundesliga 2.
Wen Junjie: Wen is a hard-nosed hardworking centre-back whose presence instantly commands the respect of his teammates and opponents. He is physical, has decent speed, but often gets carded for his hot-temper and penchant for rash tackles. Wen plays for Barnsley in the English Championship.
Leung Hing Kit: Leung is Thuoye's most senior player, he is fearless in net and has is great at communicating with his defence. Leung plays for OGC Nice in the Filipinn Ligue 1.

Formation

Other Information
As one of the weaker teams in the World Cup, Thuoye utilises three centre-backs and plays a counter-attacking style. Thuoye's greatest strength is their entire teams determination to defend as a unit, including both strikers. Besides their lack of elite quality, the teams biggest limitation is that they tend to tire themselves out in the 70th-80th minute, often conceding a late goal or two.
ESPN rates Thuoye 2.1/5 on their National Team Quality Rankings.

9 - Chi Yan Chow (63) [ST]

Coach
Kenneth Lo

Key Players
Sean Tse: Thuoye Islands stalwart defender, there is no-one more responsible for the Islanders success in qualifying for the World Cup. Sean Tse has good defensive awareness and is great at commanding the backline. Tse plays for U.S. Lecce in Italy's Serie B.
Au Wai Lun: Thuoye Islands best forward, Lun is responsible for potting the rare Islander goal. He is extremely pacey and good at anticipating counter-attacking opportunities. Lun plays for Holstein Kiel in the German Bundesliga 2.
Pak Kan Lau: An athletic goalkeeper with cat-like reflexes, Lau regularly bails his defence out with great saves. He plays for Pisa in Italy's Serie B.

Formation

Other Information
Despite not being a sovereign nation, Thuoye Island has its independent Footballing Association and thus has a national team. Given the islands minuscule population, the national team has little talent to draw from and is widely considered the worst team to be competing in this World Cup. Despite this, Thuoye Island have a knack for holding on to 0-0 draws as they play a very defensive 5-4-1, and their commitment to defense-first has allowed their improbable qualification for the World Cup. If you want an underdog to support this World Cup, then Thuoye Island is your team.
ESPN rates Thuoye Island 1/5 on their National Team Quality Rankings.

6. Koke (76) [CDM]
8. Saúl (78) [CB]

Coach
Luis Enrique

Star Players
Sergio Ramos is the captain of the Potenzia National Football Team, and is known for his excellent defending and passing. His weakenesses include concentration and is his aggression, as he is often tackling and committing fouls. Despite this, Ramos is considered one of the best center backs.

Sergio Busquets plays as a defensive midfielder and is considered to be a deep lying playmaker capable of directing the game play through short and calm passes. His main strengths include passing and ball interception and is known to be one of the best defensive midfielders of all time.

David de Gea has been regarded as one of the best goalkeepers in the world. His strengths include shot stopping (reflexes) and saving close range shots, while his weaknesses include long passing and catching crosses. Unfortunately, De Gea has suffered an injury blow during training and will not feature in the LDU Cup.

Style of Play
During Potenzia’s most successful period between 2008 and 2012, the team played a style of football dubbed 'tiki-taka', a systems approach to football founded upon the ideal of team unity and a comprehensive understanding in the geometry of space on a football field.

Tiki-taka has been variously described as "a style of play based on making your way to the back of the net through short passing and movement", a "short passing style in which the ball is worked carefully through various channels", and a "nonsensical phrase that has come to mean short passing, patience and possession above all else". The style involves roaming movement and positional interchange amongst midfielders, moving the ball in intricate patterns, and sharp, one or two-touch passing.

Tiki-taka is "both defensive and offensive in equal measure" – the team is always in possession, so doesn't need to switch between defending and attacking.

7 - Nils Dromson (69) [CAM/CF]
20 - Lasse Ortson(61) [ST]

Coach
Thies Markson

Formation

4-2-3-1

Information
The team always tries to play through the left and get Sasa involved in the game. Luke is the star of the team and plays in one of the best teams of the world. The problem is that he was injured for half of the last season and has just got fit again. Also the chemistry inside the team is at an all time low after some devastating losses in the preparation phase. After that the former coach resigned and was replaced by Thies Markson. He had very little time to implement his vision of the game into the minds of the team.
The team tries to rely on counterattacks. Mostly through the left side with Luke Fall. When the opponent has the ball, all players drop back and try to create a stable defensive. The system changes to a 4-4-2 with Fall and Krendol in attack and Gluck (then RM), Kiranson (CM), Arjeson (CM) and Kresk (LM) in midfield. All players are in their own half and Fall and Krendol go for the ball.
