ALL SHURAYU SHALL ENDEAVOR EACH DAY TO BE FIRM OF MIND AND BODY, FOR THE HEALTH AND BETTERMENT OF THEMSELVES AND THEIR KIN. STRENGTH CAN BE SOUGHT IN IT’S GREAT TEMPLES, THE GYMNASIUM AND THE SCHOOL, BUT IT MAY ALSO BE FOUND IN THE EXPERIENCES OF A LIFE LIVED PRODUCTIVELY.

RESISTANCE TO ALL TEMPTATION IS PARAMOUNT TO THE PRESERVATION OF SOCIETY.
REFRAIN FROM THE CONSUMPTION OF LIQUORS AND SMOKELEAVES, AND STAND STRONG LIKE A ROCK IN THE SEA IN THE FACE OF TRAGEDY AND HARDSHIP. THE WORLD IS FRAUGHT WITH POISONS THAT MUDDLE THE MIND AND DISTRACT FROM WHAT IS IMPORTANT. ALL SHURAYU ARE BROTHERS AND SISTERS.
WHEN ONE SEES A BEGGAR THEY SHANT SCORN THEM, BUT SHALL HELP THEM IN WHATEVER WAY IS PRACTICAL. SHURAYU MUST NEVER TURN ARMS AGAINST EACHOTHER, EVERY SHURAYU LIFE IS VALUABLE AND THE LOSS OF ANY ONE IS A GREAT TRAGEDY. TO BUILD A SURVIVING CIVILIZATION, SHURAYU MUST WORK TOGETHER, AND NEVER KILL EACHOTHER. THERE ARE ELEMENTS OF SOCIETY WHICH UNDER THE DUTIFUL VIGILANCE OF THE PEOPLE ARE GREATLY BENEFICIAL, BUT IF SUCH ELEMENTS WERE TO EXIST FREE AND UNCONTROLLED WOULD SPELL DISASTER.
IT IS THE PLACE OF THE PEOPLE TO COMMAND THE GOVERNMENT AND THE PLACE OF THE GOVERNMENT TO OBEY THE PEOPLE. AN AGENT OF THE GOVERNMENT IS A SERVANT AND SHALL ACT AS SUCH, OR THEY SHALL BE OUSTED. IT IS THE NATURE OF GOVERNMENT TO SEEK POWER AND BECAUSE OF THAT THE RIGHT FOOT OF THE SHURAYU STANDS UPON ITS NECK, SO THAT IT MAY NEVER GROW CORRUPT NOR TYRANNICAL. IT IS THE PLACE OF THE PEOPLE TO DEMAND A PRODUCT AND THE PLACE OF THE MERCHANT TO FULFILL IT. IT IS THE RIGHT OF A SHURAYU TO ACCUMULATE WEALTH, BUT WEALTH IS THE KING OF THE MIND’S INTOXICANTS AND IT’S TEMPTATION SHALL ALWAYS BE PRESENT, AND SO THE LEFT FOOT OF THE SHURAYU STANDS UPON THE NECK OF THE MERCHANT, SO THAT THEY MAY NOT COMMIT THE EVIL THAT AN UNRESTRAINED GOVERNMENT WOULD OVER THE ECONOMY.

OUR PEOPLE ARE UTTERLY IMMACULATE, UNIQUE IN THE UNIVERSE.
THE SAVAGES WHICH SURROUND US ARE CREATURES OF THE EARTH, LIKE CATTLE OR WOLVES, AND SHALL BE USED AND DISCARDED AS SUCH. THE ONLY USE OF A SAVAGE IS FOR THE BENEFIT OF THE SHURAYU, THEIR WORDS ARE POISON, THEIR PHILOSOPHIES ARE INSANE, AND THEIR SOCIETIES ARE FILTHY. TOWARDS A FOREIGNER BE ALWAYS POLITE, BUT DISTANT, FLIES ARE BEST ATTRACTED BY SUGAR RATHER THAN VINEGAR.

ECONOMICS

Atrahasianism doesn't believe in economics in any academic sense, believing that making an abstraction of daily and ever-present matters is a needless and counter-intuitive pursuit, however, for millennia a single economic doctrine has nonetheless been followed. Atrahasian Ethics instills within it’s adherents a deep-seated collectivist mindset from birth, all teachings are taught in reference to a system that transcends generations and petty individual egos, that turns men into cogs, proud to be in a machine greater than themselves, proud to follow in the footsteps of their ancestors. Canon States: What is the value of wealth if not to use it to erect grand monuments to honor the glory and sacrifice of the nation, to ensure the financial stability of one’s house, to reinvest in one’s own community by building constructions which can be enjoyed and put to use by all, to provide alms to the downtrodden, and to create great works of art to bring beauty and joy to life?

Put plainly, the Atrahasian economic system is mixed-market capitalism by collectivists. Canon states the creation and distribution of all that which is needed to live or live with any decent quality of life is the affair solely of the government- staple crops, water, energy, fuel, housing, healthcare, and the internet are all nationalized and provided for free, and distribution and production is determined by a series of councils of publicly elected scholar-bureaucrats bound to specific localities, with surplus goods being stockpiled or sold to corporations. The creation and distribution of non-essential goods and services are the affair of a supervised market where no corporation is allowed to grow bigger than a size deemed acceptable by the government and prices of goods can be subject to government control at any time.

While government oversight over business is strong and often punitive and Shurayu culture traditionally takes a dim view of mercantile affairs, believing such competition is harmful to the social order, Canon states a degree of honest competition is nevertheless required for a healthy economy and innovation, and so in the private sector competition is fierce though tempered by law and an ancient code of honor. In the old days when the Erṣetim still polluted the homeworld of the Shurayu, they proved themselves to not only be the scientific superiors of the Shurayu, but their economic superiors as well. Capitalism without the psychotic single-minded hunger for capital folds when set against a system of greed. The Shurayu only managed to hold their own against the destructive greed of savages thanks to the colossal amount of capital they’d accrued during their vast civilizational head-start. Atrahasian capitalists seek wealth and build businesses which provide jobs and fill in the sections of the economy not run by the government for that is their function in the Atrahasian System, but under this system, wealth’s value correlates to how it can help all.

Under Atrahasianism, the humble business is the moral and legal superior to the great corporation, fettered lightly by merciful taxes and regulations only to ensure fair-dealings and the well-being of the consumer, whereas the growth of corporations is stunted at a certain point under the crushing weight of punitive taxation and regulations. Canon visualizes the market as a forest and the businesses within the trees. It states that one’s business may grow as it will, but must take care it’s canopy does not steal the light from others and must take care it’s roots do not steal the soil’s nutrients from others, lest it burn away as punishment for it’s greed and contribute to the rest of the forest as fertility-giving ash.

Canon dictates the structure of a company is to mirror that of the government, meaning executives are voted in by the employee body just as politicans are voted in by the public, and to ensure total fidelity on the part of the management, they are policed by unions with a shadowy corps of armed agents known as Kénútulabítú who fulfill a role similar to the Ḫá'iṭánú of the Arnum, ceaselessly monitoring the actions of executives to ensure fair conduct and proper treatment of workers.
