Personality

Taiping Heavenly Queen Hong Lijing is a kind-hearted and meek leader

Throughout most of Lijing’s childhood, she did not have a close relationship with her father who was more focused on his duties of purging dissidents in the empire and all the while indulging himself with his other consorts and concubines than raising his daughter. She strived for his attention but the king did not take notice. And this lack of close interaction with her only parent made Lijing bitter then depressed and self-deprecating, bitterly accepting the fact that she is insignificant to her father. However, Lijing was surrounded by her servants and tutors who were a positive influence on her, teaching her that she can be better than her father and she can make the Greatly Peaceful Heavenly Kingdom a better empire than it was before and now. But when King Shikai suspected his servants were conspiring against him, he arrested and murdered them, all of them whom Lijing were her closest friends. Lijing feared her father who threatened to have her executed if she does try to overthrow him.

Personally, Lijing is a shy but kindhearted person who wants to rule the Heavenly Kingdom right and good, and even preserve it for another hundred years. She wants to destroy the "spiritual blight" in the Heavenly Kingdom; she promises to destroy the rampant decadence and corruption she witnessed during her childhood and absolve the country "in the name of God and His Sons and Kings Christ Jesus and Hong Xiquan".

Lijing is able to read and write, expressing her personal thoughts and emotions in a small journal she calls her "little red book", a gift given to her by one of her servants. She has kept her little red book hidden from her father and her servants even, fearing her father’s wrath and her servants should they tell the king about the things she writes in her book.

As a Magical Girl

Hong Lijing’s wish was to be wise.
