Move Too recognize Wicca As A Valid Religion Sparks Contempt.

OOC:
Read this like a WW2 newsreel.
IC:
Good day Rosmana,

Chancellor Aria Wessex has announced that the Neopagan religion of Wicca will receive an official religious status, after their members where more than loyal to our government, despite various attempts by the syndicalists to recruit them.

And after they had proven they do not condone the abuse of men and trans women, like some radical fringe groups

The move was applauded by several women,s rights groups, religious freedom supporters, and new age thinkers, authors, religious scolars and writers.

This gives the covens tax-exempt status, rights to construct shrines, as well as the official right to marry any citizens in the Imperial Republic of Rosmana, and that its priests and priestesses can list their occupation as registered clergy, instead of psychic or meditation teacher.

So they are celebrating with song and dance all day long:

But not everyone is pleased about this, the Liberty party has already stated it will fight the decision, and Liberty Party leader Brent Stockwall has led an enormous protest in the capital Rosmascant, supported by radical elements of the Tarkana Party and traditionalist youth organizations.

The protesters have shirts and banners with derogatory slurs such as "There is no Goddess", the boys and the men wear "I have no feminine side" and others wear slogans such as "Wicca is a hate group", as well as anti Wiccan slogans such as "Actaeon did not deserve his death", and "Artemis is a child murderer", which directly target the Dianic Wiccan movement.

The Dianic branch is a small minority movement, with a few controversial beliefs and practices, such as the idea that trans women are not allowed in because the group only accepts ''women born women'', without separating them from mainstream Wicca and Paganism as a whole.

The charismatic Liberty Party leader Brent Stockwall led the protests himself, and he resided over a long prostration session in the old city center, since did not have authorization of the churches to hold it on their grounds, so they moved the prostration session to a nearby park, as loud, Gregorian music and prayers resonated throughout the old city.

The chants are not only designed to instill fear into the Pagan community, but also to remind them what faith is really in charge, which is in all likelihood fueled by a mix of anger, resentment, and fear of being dominated by a world that seems sensitive, less muscular men as weak and expendable.

And various psychologists have also reported that a lot of young men are confused about strong women, and that they fear them on the one hand, whilst being attracted to them on the other, creating internal struggles that lead to anxiety, stress and the need to feel spiritually powerful.

This is aggravated by the fact that most of the time they are either told to ''man up'' by some, more often more muscular men, and that need to ''check their privilege'' by some women, creating a storm of internalized anger, rage and contempt in them, until it reaches the surface, as it ignites into hatred.

So far there has not been any official response from the churches, except for a call to keep the peace, and that they will not get involved in a strictly political matter, and the government has stated that each religion should have the same freedom, as well as the duty to respect the faiths of others, without exceptions, as the protests continue to grow.

So far things have proceeded peacefully, so let us all pray they will stay that way.

God bless you all, and God bless Rosmana.
