First Phase

The Taiwan Conflict started on the Second day of January, in 2002, when the People's Republic of China invaded the island nation of Taiwan, the goal of this was to finally finish the 'reunification' the People's Republic had dreamed of, and Taiwan was not prepared for the invasion, as men rained down from the skies on 2 January, the image of Chinese planes dropping paratroopers into Taiwanese soil took the world by storm, the Chinese actually did it, and it would only get worse.

The Chinese failed to take Taipei as it had been heavily defended by large amounts of anti-aircraft guns and a large Taiwanese Army presence there, but in the south, things were different, particularly, during the Battle of Checheng, where PLA Marines under the command of General Shin Fai overwhelmed the Taiwanese garrison there before themselves being overrun by Taiwanese tanks, as Fai put heavy emphasis on infantry, his forces were eviscerated by the Taiwanese Armored Response Force. The PLAMC retreated to Hengchun.

To the West, the city of Kaohsiung was being besieged by PLAAF aircraft, bombed by constant barrages of Black Napalm and EMPs short-circuiting most Taiwanese vehicles for a short period of time, it was chaos as neither the PLA or the Taiwanese Army knew what was going on, soon it would become even worse as PLA tanks arrived at the shore only to get destroyed by Taiwanese Landmines, then Taiwanese Helicopters came in, but they were shot down by SAMs.

In the East, it was more cohesive, with the PLA invading the Dulan Forest via paratroopers, they succeeded in taking the Forest, but were held back by a Taiwanese Army encirclement manuver which essentially trapped the Paratroopers in the forest, and led to their demise when they got picked off by Taiwanese Soldiers when they retook the Forest, it was described by some PLA survivors as a massacre, and a nightmarish scene.
