Malik Hassan released

Statement from the Federal Department of Justice-Malik Hassan (Anglo-Catholic), the founding leader of the UCR, has been released on parole from the St. Dismas Penal Center after completing 5 years of a 15 year sentence. As a condition of his release, Hassan is prohibited from running for office, voting, donating to political parties, and must refrain from making public statements and speeches. He has been released into the custody of the St. Alban Rehabilitation Foundation (Anglican) to take part in a community confinement and work release regimen until his parole term is up.

Hassan was convicted of treason in 2016 after attempting to use the military to overturn election results that resulted in an opposition victory.
