Overview:
Heavily restricted by questionable reasons created by questionable men, the royal family still serves as the kind and slightly awkward symbol of Montealba at home and abroad. Stemming from the early modern kings of Krumpelberg, antique principes of the Atlas Federation and prehistoric maiordomes to the Tyrcerian chieftains, the royals have been mostly prevented from participating in actual affairs of the state probably even before the communists took over Montealba in the aftermath of WW2. The princes of Montealba were kept as a funny attraction during this occupation, because they already held no power whatsoever and the Communist Party of Montealba was preoccupied by more important things, namely several mysterious holes in the budget. After the fall of the Soviet Union, a new clique that emerged suspiciously quickly kept the princes in the same position as they were during the communist dictatorship, with the exception of using them as a magnet for overtaxed tourists.

The HUNÖR

Overview:
HUNÖR (Hun-Ugor Nemzeti Örögyböröglávás Rendőrség) is a Meygerian separatist and terrorist organization operating in western Montealba, which they claim as the unlawfully occupied land of "Nagy-Karazbekia." According to them, the Treaty of Nagy-Tragédia imposed on Meygeria after it was defeated in WW1 is invalid, as they didn't vote on it. The entirety of western Montealba (with some creative liberties, as is natural to the Meygers) therefore still rightfully belongs to the Meyger state. They will fight for their liberty by restricting the life liberties of others until the whole region either rejoins Meygeria or they establish complete independence.

Overview:
Formed on purpose by the Soviets from leftist Irish expats, this so-called "Soviet" branch of the IRA received extensive training in order to disrupt Great Britain. As Montealba was at the time a running joke in Soviet circles, all training was conducted here. When not on missions, these Irishmen received housing and subsidies and over time started families. After the fall of the Iron Curtain, many of those already born in Montealba decided to stay and regroup to continue with their original mission. This "Irish diaspora" now holds significant know-how on the construction and application of various explosives and terrorist tactics.

The Kara-Uzbek Khanate

Overview:
With the fall of Soviet order in Montealba, its Kara-Uzbek minority has steadily grown more agitated to fight for a restored Kara-Uzbek country. Although violence has not erupted yet, the Kara-Uzbeks have already rallied behind Sharkhün Khan, the elderly repatriated grandson of the leader of the short-lived Kara-Uzbek Khanate, which emerged in a revolt in 1919. True to their traditions, the Kara-Uzbeks remain skilled horsemen, scouts and outdoorsmen. The Khanate is shakily allied with the HUNÖR, who alternatingly view the Kara-Uzbeks as either Turanic brothers or Meygers.

His drive makes him unstoppable, not by a prison and not by an army. Already there are paramilitary squads under his command that serve to protect his vineyards and factories. Were he obstructed on his journey, or on the contrary, given too much leeway, he might seek to usurp the princely crown for himself and perhaps aim for even higher titles...

Overview:
A fire-worshiping nation of mysterious oriental origins, these nomadic traders have trekked across the continent since time immemorial wherever money could be found and commerce could be achieved. Systematic historical purges and atrocities have kept these people on the move and trusting none but their own. Despite the dubious claims, they're hardened tradesmen and transporters, with allegedly prophetic visions, spells and potions. There are two known Parsheni tribes in Montealba: the Rezvans and Trovars aka "drows".

Overview:
An Afro-Montealban self-defense faction formed in the early years of independence by prominent OGs and MCs from Konptom. The ancestors of these were, once again, resettled into Montealba by the Soviets as another practical joke and to develop the area around Unity Mountain. Most came from left-minded Black exiles from the United States and many of their descendants still have active ties there. The Afro-Montealbans were the primary catalyst for springing jazz, hip-hop and Kwanzaa culture in Montealba and they are proud of the fact. They will not fight unprovoked, but will go to any length it takes to preserve their culture and battle any perceived discrimination.

Overview:
Unrelated to drugs, the Drugovichi fanatically worship an entity known as Друг (Drug, translated as "friend,") which they claim protects them and grants them wishes, as long as the Drug keeps making new "friends." While at first small in numbers in the hills of Pripjat province, following the liberation of Montealba, and notably Pripjat, members of the Hocherlan's Tigers found Drug and joined the Drugovichi when Hocherlan disappeared and Tigers leadership collapsed. The cult sprung around a cycle of Stuyevkan urban legends. They speak of an early Soviet experimental nuclear power plant hidden deep under Stuyevka that suffered several failures and leaks during its operation, allegedly creating an entire eerie and glowing ecosystem inside the facility. It was declared on April 22nd 1993 by President Kushmic in Novy Hrodsk, the capital of the Socialist Autonomous Province of Spezia. The armed forces of the Republic are composed of the Spezina and volunteer battalions, the most famous of them being The Falcons of Ercgolice. The Republic is also influenced by the fundamentalist Hand of Ozbekh, which competes for dominance within Spezia.

Overview:
The situation in iesty Dom 1994 is exceptionally grim. With civil war brewing all around Montealba, the province has already descended into a war of its own. Emerging from their position as a minority party in the nascent iesty Dom Legislative Assembly, the Dom Sovietov (House of Soviets) party has left the province in outright revolt and seeks to restore the government to communist rule. Fighting has been ongoing for several weeks with both sides taking up leftover munitions from the now-absent Hocherlan's Tigers. The frontline stretches across the whole of the province and several towns mark key zones of skirmishing. With fighting confined only to small arms fire and the rare armored vehicle, life behind the frontline continues mostly as normal, yet rationing of limited foodstuffs is beginning to wear down on the population. Meanwhile in the east of the province, strange events have been reported in the latest few weeks following storms of ash from the infamous Red Mountain...

The most peculiar country in the world and a geopolitical anomaly. Kaiserreich is a German empire with no actual Germans living in it, likely the result a massive, genetically-inherited pan-societal trauma inflicted by the abuses of a passing Germanic populace on the natives. With an overinflation of tax-exempt nobles, their entire economy relies on postage stamps. Most of these are reinvested into sending unsolicited mail to random people to convince them to come live in Kaiserreich too, which makes the empire resemble a pyramid scheme in country form. However, their "ambitions" are not limited to just individuals, but entire countries as well. In an overzealously dilletantish misunderstanding of realpolitik, Kaiserreich has for ages unsuccessfuly attempted to bring neighbouring countries, Montealba included, into its sphere.

Montealba's western neighbor and the winner of the Global Victim Complex Olympics since the end of WW1. The end of the Soviet-propped communist regime in Meygeria has re-erupted previously suppressed chauvinistic moods, which all center on the dismemberment of the country by the Treaty of Nagy-Tragédia imposed by the victors of the First World War. With Verbán Ögtör's ascension, the Meygers have officially embarked on a course of irredentist reclamation and awkward historical revisionism, which has also given rise to groups such as the HUNÖR, which the Meyger government not-so-secretly supports.
