Atonia is one of 5 provinces of the realm of Serpens Land. It is Serpens Land's third most populous province. It has an area of approximately TBD and a population of 6,159,320. Atonia is bordered by Northland to the north west, Camridia to the north east, and Chatham to the south. It also borders two oceans, the Eaton Sea to the west, and the North Mesder Sea to the east. It's capital, Whitmouth is located on the east coast, close to the border with Chatham. On the opposite side of the province is it's largest city: Carisbooke.

Atonia was inhabited by the indigenous Serpans people for thousands of years prior to European colonization. It is estimated that Serpans peoples immigrated north from what is now known as Fort Charlotte around 45,000 years ago. When Serpens Land gained self governance in 1907, it was originally divided into 2 territories: Northern Territory, and Fort Charlotte Territory. Atonia, Camridia, and Northland were originally districts of Northern Territory. In 1915 when northern Serpens Land gained independence from the Dominion of Serpens Land as the Republic of Erodesia, Atonia was split in the middle and devided between the two nations. Upon the reunification of Serpens Land in 1957, an interim provincial government was established. Atonia, along with the 4 other provinces of Serpens Land were formally established by the passage of the Provinces Act of 1958 by the Serpens Land government.

Key economic sectors in Atonia include energy, agriculture, and petrochemicals. Oil has become a large part of Atonia's economy since the discovery of oil at the Lonsdale oil sands in 1959. Politics in Atonia is dominated by the right-leaning Atonian Alliance Party, who have won 11 of the past 17 provincial elections. The current premier is Jacob Keynes of the Atonian Alliance Party, holding 65 of the 91 seats in the executive assembly.

Atonia has a primarily humid continental climate. It experiences large temperature swings at higher elevations near the centre of the province. Much of Atonia consists of flat, arable land concentrated near the north and centre of the province. The Mid Island mountain range runs along much of the southern border of Atonia.
