"Repeal 'Landfill Regulation Act'", written by a respected author,
overturns a resolution fraught with regulation issues and loopholes
which include lack of regulation for private corporations, poor
outlining of what constitutes as a Solid Waste Landfill, and regulations
that restrict Solid Waste Landfill's ability to operate. If said
landfills are unable to operate, there is concern that creates a lack of
efficiency that harms the ability of nations to adequately deal with
waste, at the expense of the taxpayer. The resolution also repeals a
mandate on the creation of a state agency for the regulation of Solid
Waste Landfills, reducing a massive economic and bureaucratic burden.
Although we supported its target, this repeal makes a rather compelling
argument against it. Therefore, the Ministry recommends a vote FOR the
