Byzantine is an Indo-European language in the Graecian family, it's closest relatives are Greek and Pontic. The Byzantine language separated from the Greek language between 400 AD - 800 AD during the early byzantine era. Byzantine has major influences from Latin and its alphabet has 28 letters, 4 more than traditional Greek.
