Out Of Character, just some Brother Fowles quotes that describe my view on God
Brother Fowles is a character in the book, “The Poisonwood Bible.” He’s a catholic missionary to the Congo who is starkly different from the bigoted and Bible-bound Nathan Price, in that he greatly respects the beliefs of the locals, and finds looking at nature to be a better way of finding God than reading a many-times-translated Bible. My belief in God is quite similar to his, and here’s some quotes to describe that. More added later, I don’t have the book with me.“When I want to take God at his word exactly, I take a peep out the window at Creation. Because that, darling, He makes fresh for us every day without a lot of dubious middle managers.”
