Embassy Amendment (Embassy Confirmation)

Overview


Purpose

The amendment seeks to include a confirmation vote for when an embassy is opened or closed.

Implementation

The amendment shall be implemented with immediate effect.

Existing Law


  1. An embassy region must satisfy the following criteria:

    1. Ten or more active nations

    2. Regularly-elected regional government or a system of consensus decision-making

    3. Not have any of the following tags:

      1. Anti-Communist

      2. Capitalist

      3. Conservative

      4. Fascist

      5. Imperialist

      6. Jump Point

      7. Mercenary

      8. Monarchist

      9. Patriarchal

      10. Puppet Storage

      11. Theocratic

      12. Totalitarian

  2. Regions shall be exempt from the aforementioned criteria if they are:

    1. Historically significant to the region

    2. Allied with the region through an interregional pact

Proposed Law


  1. An embassy region must satisfy the following criteria:

  2. Regions shall be exempt from the aforementioned criteria if they are:

    1. Historically significant to the region

    2. Allied with the region through an interregional pact

  3. The acceptance, removal or proposal of embassies that fulfill the criteria in previous sections must be confirmed with a two-thirds majority of electoral citizens in favour in the following manner:

    1. World Assembly citizens shall be permitted to vote in a three-day poll

    2. Military Voting and Dual citizens shall be permitted to vote on the Regional Message Board in the same period

    3. The three-day poll may be bypassed in case of emergency, determined by agreement of the Minister of Foreign Affairs and the Secretary

    4. Acceptance or proposal of embassies that fall under section 2 are exempt from this section
