The Confederacy of Ogliacia

The Confederacy of Ogliacia is located in the region of Lorania. It has no land borders with any other nation, due to the fact that it is an island. Ogliacia covers over 84 thousand square kilometers and has a human population of 640 thousand. Ogliacia is a confederacy comprising of 3 fully autonomous regions.

History

First Ogliacoi

No living creatures actually inhabited the island of Ogliacia before 100 CE, when 3 Celtic British tribes, a whole population of a highly intelligent rare deer species, a well as over 78 other species arrived at the island they called ‘Ogliacia’. The three tribes were called the Lochlii, who settled in the north of the island, the Nolgliaci, in the southeast, and the Dedrauvi in the west. And unimaginatively, the three regions were called Lochlia, Nolgliacia, and Dedrauvia. The Lochlii called their capital Abonadunon, which means ‘River-Fort’. The Nolgliaci noticed they settled between two rivers, and so they ended up calling their capital Daudubris meaning ‘Two-Waters’. The Dedrauvi, for some unknown reason decided to name their capital Crugboduoc, which means ‘Hill of the Battle Crow’.

Establishment of the Confederacy

For the next 1850 years, practically nothing happened, until Nolgliacia simply decided that the regions should unite to form one nation. So they sent dignitaries to Lochlia and Dedrauvia, Lochlia happily accepted, Dedrauvia was hesitant and refused to join. The 2 regions met at a lake in the centre of Ogliacia, and thus, the Confederacy of Ogliacia was formed. The town of Oglia was built on the lake, and became the capital of the nation. Ogliacia’s constitution, flag, and pretty much everything else about Ogliacia was decided at that meeting. 25 years later, Dedrauvia joined the Confederacy. Ogliacia joined the Region of Lorania 45 years after that.

Tai Peian Civil War

1 month later, the Ogliacian central government noticed that the Kingdom of Tai Pei’s central government was overthrown by a pro-socialist alliance of rebel groups led by one group known as the Keipeitao. The National Assembly of Ogliacia decided to take advantage of this incident in order to gain a sphere of influence in Lorania. Ogliacia agreed to recognise the People’s Republic of Keipeitaoic tai pei as a state, while also providing them with financial aid and military training, all this was in exchange for Keipeitaoic Tai Pei becoming a puppet for Ogliacia.

In an incident, The kingdom of Tai Pei’s airforce bombed Keipeitaoic Tai Pei’s military bases on the island of Ogliacia, which was met by Ogliacia’s civilians firing Ground-to-Air Missiles at them, while hacking the Kingdom of Tai Pei’s treasury to pay for the damage. The kingdom of Tai Pei ended up taking back all of it’s territory except for a small group of south eastern islands known as the Peifao District. Ogliacia’s National Assembly proposed a peace treaty to end the war, while still keeping a foothold in Tai Pei. This treaty was signed and known as the Treaty of Peifao, which ended the Tai Peian Civil War.

Peifao Invasion Incident

1 month after the Treaty of Peifao was signed, Tai Pei decided to forcefully invade the Keipeitaoic Tai Peian Peifao District with 50,000 soldiers. Though the Tai Peian invasion was successful, Ogliacia decided to retake it with 105,000 soldiers, and succeeded. After the incident, the Amended Treaty of Peifao was signed, which made the Peifao District a semi-autonomous zone, part of Tai Pei.

Geography

Physical Geography

The island of Ogliacia spans 84,000 square kilometres, and it’s terrain is 65% deciduous forest, 20% mountainous, 8% grassland, 5% urban/suburban/farmland, and 2% marshland. Ogliacia also has a number of rivers and lakes.

Ogliacia is also home to numerous flora and fauna. With many species of fish, mammals and birds, Ogliacia’s ecosystem is rich and diverse. The country’s plant species thrive throughout the island, with forests dominating Ogliacia with greenery.

Human Geography

Ogliacia is made up 3 fully autonomous regions, these being: Lochlia, Nolgliacia, and Dedrauvia. Each of these regions have one city each being their capitals, each with a population of 80,000. Ogliacia’s central capital is Oglia, which lies on a lake in the center of the island, and has a population of 30,000.

The human populated areas of Ogliacia make up only 5% of the island, as Ogliacoi see the island as something they share with other species, not something owned by them. Ogliacia road system is also very limited, as much of the country is nature reserve. The country only has one airport: ‘Oglia International Airport’, which is located just outside of Oglia.

Ogliacia has an estimated population of 640,000, with a growth rate of 0. 33% of the population are Nolgliaci, 33% Lochli and 33% Dedrauvi. Ogliacian is the national language, with English also being fluently spoken.

Religion

The 60% of Ogliacia’s population identifies as Druidic, whilst other Pagans make up 25% of the population, and Atheists make up 15% of the population. Ogliacia has a policy of “Free Religion”, the acceptance of all non-violent religions.

Population Density

Roughly, 42% of the population live in urban areas, 35% suburban and 22% Rural. Ogliacia also has a population of people who live an indigenous life, but they only make up less than 1% of the population.
