SOME WINDS IN THE AIR ... :

If you attack Broken Tooth Tribe's territories you get +45 more Favouritism points per province taken from them.
If you want to attack Broken Tooth Tribe's territories but you are not bordering them, then your army that is sent towards their lands can move 2 ticks away towards them:
- irrespective of any other army orders you give in that update (so you still have a maximum movement of 3 ticks or one of 2 ticks and unlimited of 1 tick)
- irrespective of your diplomacy status with your neighbouring factions (you don't have to be allied/friends with and you don't have to wait 1 update whenever you cross a border into another faction's land; as long as they let you walk through their lands - you first have to discuss this).

If you attack Kingdom of Arthedain's territories you get +30 more Favouritism points per province taken from them.
If you want to attack Kingdom of Arthedain's territories but you are not bordering them, then your army that is sent towards their lands can move 2 ticks away towards them:
- irrespective of any other army orders you give in that update (so you still have a maximum movement of 3 ticks or one of 2 ticks and unlimited of 1 tick)
- irrespective of your diplomacy status with your neighbouring factions (you don't have to be allied/friends with and you don't have to wait 1 update whenever you cross a border into another faction's land; as long as they let you walk through their lands - you first have to discuss this).

If you attack Clan Frostbeard's territories you get +15 more Favouritism points per province taken from them.

The factions of Druwaith Folk and The Defender's Fjord should stop future expansion.

Observations:

  • Any faction is able to take advantage of the above bonuses if they have less than the max number of provinces or if they attack other factions that have at least +2 more provinces than the number of provinces they currently own, irrelevant of the amount of provinces they have (so if you have 6 provinces you can attack only other factions that have 8+ provinces).

  • You will not be at war with the other faction if you do not share a border. Your army set to attack for Favouritism points must be clearly mentioned In-Character, as it will have a special army icon. You can only attack an enemy province at their borders, you can't attack their innermost province (and end up attacking any of their other provinces in the process).

  • You can move 1 or 2 ticks (provinces away) per update with this particular army, irrelevant of any other armies you have or army orders you give to your other armies. You can tranverse any faction borders instantly (without having to wait 1 turn on the other side of the border). However, you must ask permission from any faction your army will encounter in their march forward. If you do not get permission or your permission is denied then you will attack and fight for that province, it in turn turning neutral / barbarian afterwards.

  • If your army reaches the destination and it wins, then the remainder of your army returns to your capitol and the province will turn neutal and have as extra defenders half of your remainder army strength. If your army can not reach the destination, you can either disband it (and it'll return to your capitol just injured if its at most 4 provinces away from your faction's border or it'll return to your capitol injured and unable to move for 1 turn if its more than 4 provinces away from your faction's border) or send more troops as reinforcements to it (either as normal army movements if the army is close or as "another" favouritism army).

  • Other faction armies can merge with your army but they will get at maximum half of the bonuses you get (linearly depending on how many troops they send compared to your numbers) and they will fight with 50% forces. You must have either a Friendship or an Alliance with other factions for their armies to merge with your army. For merging, the friends armies must be in the same province as your attacking force.

  • Your army will lose 5% army strength numbers per turn for any turn it is not in your own provinces or your official allies provinces.

  • You do not lose any Favouritism points per update if you do not do anything else in the update (attack or be attacked).

  • If you've been the target of such an attack and at a later time you fight to take back the province (against the neutral army now residing there) and you win, you will get 7 more Favouritism points.

THE TALK FROM THE OLD UPDATE... :

.
.

The Defender's Fjord (message 1 of 2):

-snip-

----
Move dwarves from Withered Heath to Northen Rhovanion.
Inform Kings Tulin and Dralvik that I am gathering forces in Northern Rhovanion, so I can attak the orcs, and I request they move their armies there.
Ask the Druwaith Folk to prepare to attack the flank of the Broken Tooth Tribe, so we can cut off their army, anvil and hammer, once I am done gathering troops.

.
.

Broken Tooth Tribe (message 1 of 6):

The orc army was moving ahead at a clip that pleased Snicklefritz mightily. Another province had fallen to the tide of smoke and iron they rode, and already the war engines were beginning to grumble across the plains once again. The size of their domain was now such that none of the peoples around him could ignore the fact. The rulers of Middle Earth would be coming to terms that he, Snicklfritz the Orc, was one of the Big Bosses in the land. When Man and Elf and Dwarf all gathered round the big wooden table to smoke pipes and pour over maps and listen to one anotherís thoughts, they would be forced to pull up a chair for an Orc, as well. And for once, ole Snicklefritz would have someone worth listening to his thoughts.

Such a state of affairs was becoming increasingly more clear to the orc chieftain, especially after listening to the reports from his returning scouts and agents. News was seeping from out the north that a Dwarven Alliance was moving south against him. Perhaps three factions, in total, having come to agree that Snicklefritz was now someone who required attention. One of the factions was already familiar to the chieftain, having encountered some messengers from them early in the campaigns, and he fingered the broken tooth hung round his neck with a grin.

Snicklefritz found three pieces of parchment and began composing his thoughts.

//////////////////////////////////
///// To the dwarven neighbor
//////////////////////////////////
"Dwarven neighbor,

I have word from advance scouts that you have chosen a course that would bring the two of us into conflict. I have word that you have allied yourselves with others of your kin against us orcs. It is right that you have allied with your kin, proper that you have carved out such a homeland for yourselves in the north. I have received news, even, that the lands of orcs and trolls in the west have been captured by you in this pursuit.

I do not begrudge this of you. But there must be a homeland for the orcs somewhere in Middle Earth, and this has been my purpose of late. I have created such a home here in the southeast, and here we shall be content. I ask only that you treat with us as equals, as a people deserving of life in their lands.

Dwarf and Orc have more in common with one another than they do with the other races. We thrive in harsh climes that Man and Elf would balk at the prospect of. We are oft more at home beneath the earth, carving out a livelihood for ourselves from the bare rock. We are both a gruff and straightforward people Ė our intentions able to be read right on our faces. Unlike the Men and the Elves, of whose intent one can never be sure, and whose word can never be trusted. They are adept at hiding behind their faces. And it is they who pose the gravest threat. You can know what to expect from an Orc, for good or ill; can the same be said of Men and Elves?

I do not seek friendship or alliance (such would surely be premature). I seek only an understanding.

- Snicklefritz the Orc"
//////////////////////////////////
//////////////////////////////////

He handed copies to his best wolf riders, instructing them to seek out the various Dwarven armies moving south against them and deliver them to their commanders, and to act with caution and restraint.

Another letter was composed to the Corsairs.

//////////////////////////////////
///// To the Corsairs
//////////////////////////////////

"I am thus far pleased with our arrangement, and pleased to support you in your endeavors. However, if you continue to insist on employing the troops we send you in tribute against our own allies, we will quickly tire of this arrangement. Turn your attention in more fruitful directions, I beg of you. If we can work in concert, instead of at cross-purpose, we will surely be able to achieve far more. Look to the north: to Rohan, who sits idly, and to the Druwaith, who have already proven themselves to be fatted calves for the taking. Should you agree to continue our partnership in this manner, we will agree to increase our tribute."
//////////////////////////////////
//////////////////////////////////

----
Send messages to The Defender's Fjord, The Woodland Enclave, and Clan Frostbeard, requesting Non-Aggression Pacts
Send message to the Corsairs asking for their aid to the north and a cessation of hostilities with the Empire of Coldvar

.
.

The Woodland Realm (message 1 of 1):

"Tulin Ironflow, King of the Woodland Realm, is answering the call of King Alexius Comnenus of the Defender's Fjord", Tulin proclaimed after reading the letter from his brother-in-arms; "we will move all of our troops towards Northern Rhovanion, and meet with our kin's warriors. The orcs expansion must be stopped at the borders of Rhovanion and the forests of Mirkwood."

Tulin remembered of Queen Barazturg and the extent of their provinces at the start of her reign; now both Anduin Vales and Southern Mirkwood are under the Druwaith Folk's influence; Tulin did not appreciate that the Dru folk are friends with the Defender's Fjord dwarves and so the Woodland Realm plans for one of two outcomes: that the Dru folk will suffer some significant losses if they engage in war with the forces of the South and that these losses are enough for the Dru folk to cease the provinces once held by the dwarves of the Woodland; or that the Dru folk are content enough with their winnings in the war against the forces of the South, and are content enough with their newfound friendship with the dwarves of the Defender's Fjord so that they no longer will mind of ceasing these two provinces once owned by the Dwarves of Woodland Realm.

----
Answer the call of their allies and move all forces to Northern Rhovanion

.
.

The Kingdom of Arthedain (message 1 of 2):

King Minyatur was playing with his ring; with the ring now in his hands, and safe from external pressures - or so his Sage claims - he felt extremely strong. Being the ruler over such a vast kingdom meant many responsibilities, to keep the wheels oiled for the welfare of its subjects and of its friends and allies. And feeling strong definitely helps matters.

Being a force to be reckoned with also meant that it is up to him, King Minyatur, to set an example for the rest of the factions of the realm. This day marks the innauguration of the Cooperation Pact, an initiative of the king under the guidance of the Sage FŽanŠro, to flaunt his kingdom's prowess and determination in the face of danger and tyrants, and that, while his faction is also quite large, all the races therein Arthedain's Kingdom work together for a common goal, for the benefit of the realm and for the well-being of its king.

Thus, under the Cooperation Pact, an example is to be made of the Broken Tooth Tribe; many answered the call to fight for the glory of the realm and for the glory of the race of Men everywhere. Its the dawn of the orcs, and with the Troll tribes all but made irrelevant, the orcs of Broken Tooth Tribe are the last real danger that still stand in the front of King's Minyatur claim for the throne of Men in Middle Earth. Sure, there are still others that might prove to be a small nuisance ... but they're nothing more than a string of bedtime stories involving pirates, dragons or other mythical creatures.

"Send emissaries to all the factions we know of to announce of this;" the king spoke. "And send additional emissaries to the Elves of Elvea-Falasse asking if they would be willing to participate in our pact or if they have their own plans regarding the Trolls, to completely extinguish all traces of Orcs from these realms; Also, send emissaries to the Elves of Etyangoldi and the Humans of the Empire of Coldvar, asking for safe passage of our troops that have destination the province of Gorogoroth"

----
Answer the Favouritism call and attack Gorgoroth with an army of 5120 Humans from the capitol of Southern Arthedain (this is officially announced and the Broken Tooth Tribe are aware of this declaration but do not know about the destination province, but can find out if the Empire of Coldvar informs them of this)
Ask the Etyangoldi Alliance for safe passage into Minhiriath or Enedhwaith (depending on the route taken)
Ask the Empire of Coldvar for safe passage into Andrast or Nan Curunir (depending on the route taken)

.
.

Corsairs of Umbar (message 1 of 2):

After taking many spoils of war from the inhabitants of Belfalas, the time came to move back. News have reached the ears of Commander Angamaith that the Empire positioned a vast number of troops at the borders of Belfalas, but the Commander was confident enough that the Empire of Coldvar learned its lesson not to make fun of a Corsair fair - and just - demand. Definitely, now, both the Emperor Nikolai Nāves and his subjects in Belfalas learned enough to last for a lifetime.

In all honesty, the Commander was a bit scared, but in the life of a Corsair of Umbar things are judged on a daily basis, and today you're here tomorrow you're gone, either by accident, war or chance; or, better yet, by mutiny. Angamaith remembered his days of being the quartermaster of the Warship Bedeth under his old captain and how, after careful machinations, he staged a coup and gained control of his ship, forced control of a few other smaller sailing ships and, later on, of a small harbour and founded his new resource base that later grew and made Angamaith who he is today. The Commander was a bit scared of failure, but had to put on a brave persona face, both to inspire his troops and to scare his potential enemies or vultures preying on his title. The Commander was also unsure and uncertain about the strength of the Empire, especially after hearing news by his border patrols of a giant flying creature on the plains of Anfalas.

The Corsairs want nothing to do with that, and now that Umbar had its fair share of loot and the troops are satisfied that the Empire hath paid, time was to turn their attention elsewhere. Rohan does seem enticing ...

The following is to be sent to the Empire of Coldvar:
"Your understanding has been appreciated, Emperor. We have taken Belafalas from your control but we have done so not in anger towards you, to which we sincerely hope to have good relations from now on. Hope also that next time you do not treat us in contempt and we have the beginning of a new friendship. We will move our troops away from these lands in pursuit of more glory."

The following is to be sent to the Orcs of Broken Tooth Tribe:
"King of orcs and other nefarious creatures, as we claimed in our latest message to you, we have nothing more against the Empire of Coldvar than to put all fears aside from my men and to show our strength and force; I remind you that we have a strict code of conduct and we hath asked them of tribute in the form of men and gold; why some want to pay and remain our allies and friends and some have other priorities we don't know and don't really care to know; we get something out of it either way, be it war or gold! Or both! We are moving away our troops and maybe will march North. We'll see. We don't like to get too far off from the shores ..."

----
Send a peace request to the Empire of Coldvar
Ask for 300 soldiers at each 3 turns (when reinforcements come) to enter into an Alliance / Friendship with the Empire of Coldvar

.
.

The Defender's Fjord (message 2 of 2):

Now that Tulin has arrived in Northern Rhovanion, Alexius Comnenus is overjoyed. Before meeting with Tulin, Alexius find he has a few matters to attend to. He writes to Dralvik. "Friend, it has come to my attention that the forces of Middle Earth only allow two factions to attack another. Those two will be my own and Tulinís, as we are closer. However, you should answer the Favouritism Call, and attack a border province of the Broken Tooth Tribe." He sends it. Then, he writes to the head of the Druwaith Folk. "Hail, King of the Druwaith! It has come to my attention that they are already to many potential aggressors to attack the Broken Tooth normally. This leaves you two options. You can answer the Favouritism call, or attack the Corsairs and take back Ithilien." He sends it.

.
.

Druwaith Folk (message 1 of 1):

Garahir of the Druwaith Folk received the message from The Defender's Fjord and issued one of his own:
"King of the dwarves of the Defender's Fjord, I thank you for this letter. It has been well received. Alas, if the powers dictate the terms we must respect the terms; but worry not, as we fear that the orcs are not acting by themselves in these matters. We believe that the Corsairs of Umbar are easily tempted to join in cohort with the orcs; and we long suspected that the Empire of Coldvar has some similar interests at heart; We will soon see where loyalties lie."

Garahir pondered. The Dru folk are, by nature, masters of their own realms and seldom get outside to inflict pain to others that have not made the Dru to suffer. Definitely, they have a bone to pick with the Corsairs of Umbar, over Ithilien, but such a course of action must not be made with ease; only after all other nearby factions and realms' interests are accounted for will the Dru folk advance to war. And so far, the Druwaith are uncertain about Rohan and uncertain about the Empire of Coldvar.

.
.

Kingdom of Arthedain (message 2 of 2):

A few hundred soldiers of those sent by the Etyangoldi Alliance as tribute to end the war between the two factions have a different set of armour on the troops and barding on the horses. It looked to be much stronger than what the human troops had, and their swords could melt the Arthedain's soldiers armour in one thrust.

King Minyatur inquired about this to the old Sage, and he confirmed the stories about the Redhorn Gate as the place of the mystery ore extraction, as many of his disciples that were captured and sent to work there are now free and have reported back to him, both on the hardships suffered and on the particularities of this ore and the armour and weapons it can be made into.

Unfortunately enough, even if Redhorn Gate is now under Arthedain's control, the art of crafting the swords and armour is lost with the demise of Curufinwe Fallenstar; the humans of Arthedain know not of such advanced craftsmanship and even if the Sage could attempt to decypher something of the now-lost art, perhaps asking other races can also be fruitful.

So the King sent the following message to the elves of Elvea-Falasse and to the dwarves of Clan Frostbeard and also to the dwarves of The Defender's Fjord:
"Friends of the Kingdom of Arthedain, upon the annexation of Redhorn Gate into our kingdom, we've gathered news of an intricate ore-extraction process. This ore was, apparently, smithed at the smiths of Hollin in the old Etyangoldi Alliance capitol (now under our claim). We have the ore, we have the smiths, but we lack the understanding how to craft it into workable armour and weapons; all our tries ended in failure as the ore appears to be extremely brittle, even if the end product is extremely strong. There may be some magic at play here.

Attached to this letter we send a piece of ore and a piece of an end product, be it either armour or weapon. Please know that we have the end-result pieces in short supply and that we can mine more ore if we put effort into re-opening the mines of Redhorn Gate. If you have any suggestions, success or interest in this new find, please reply."

---
Send the above to the elves of Elvea-Falasse and to the dwarves of Clan Frostbeard and The Defender's Fjord

.
.

Trollshaw Realm (message 1 of 2):

-- in Kingdom of Arthedain, on the plains of Dunland --
Two small trolls were spotted by the border patrol guards of the Kingdom as they were trying to traverse the lands towards Enedhwaith. After a small skirmish one of the two trolls escaped, while the other was killed in battle; taking 12 of the men with him. The escapee troll reached Enedhwaith carrying a secret message.

----
Secret message successfully sent to the Etyangoldi Alliance

.
.

Trollshaw Realm (message 2 of 2):

-- on the border of the Empire, at Pukel-land --
The troll that escaped capture in Dunland was also carrying in his pouch a message to the Emperor of Coldvar; the troll gave the message to one of the border guards that was patrolling the land, and returned via secret passages to Ettenmoors.

The message was as follows:
"Emperor of Coldvar, it is I, Torogok, the leader of the Trolls of Ettenmoors. This message to you is coming in a time when many powers of the realm have made deals for conquest and domination and we trolls and orcs have suffered the most; even so, our spirit is not yet defeated and we yearn to reclaim our lands. In the same time, I understand that you have not yet made any allegiance and, so, your position in this new-found-world is uncertain. The dwarf-forces are marching southwards I am most certain of it, and the human-elvish alliance has plans for either of our lands. If we fall, who you think is going to be next? Better to strike now together while you still have the upper hand and we still have human-slaves to bear the blunt of the attack.

I am uncertain about the Etyangoldi Alliance; they can still prove to be an asset worth keeping around, or at least as a buffer against future aggression to your lands. Either way, you most definitely have to make a stance and decide where your loyalties lie and if you come after others or they come after you."

----
Send above message to the Empire of Coldvar asking about interest in a future plan together

.
.

The Empire of Coldvar (message 1 of 6):

Emperor Nikolai stares at the row of men standing before him. The men are all furious and looking for blood against the Corsairs. But the Emperor did not care.

He has received numerous messages from the nations of Middle Earth. He did not like any of them.

To the King of Arthedain:
"I will allow your troops to pass. But, if I receive any reports of looting or destruction. I will take harsh measures to amend it.

Emperor Nikolai"

To the Corsairs of Umbar:
"The Empire does not like pirates, but I'm the ruler so I get the final say. I will agree with your alliance. I hope for a brighter future with you.

Emperor Nikolai"

To the Trollshaw Realm:

"Why have the Dwarves turn their attention away from you? The Empire has no quarrel with any nation, so why should we make your problem ours? The kingdoms in the north have not bothered us, yet.

You ask what will we do. Well, you will soon find out.

General Elkins"

To the Broken Tooth Tribe:

"Snicklefritz, I wish to meet with you in person. To discuss delicate manners, that will only be between your nation and the Empire.

If you accept, where and when will we meet? It does not matter where. I shall be able to reach any location.

Emperor Nikolai"

Move all 6125 troops in Anfalas to Andrast.
Send a message to The Kingdom of Arthedain allowing their troops through.
Send a message to the Corsairs of Umbar. Accepting their deal for an alliance.
Send a message to the Trollshaw Realm. Responding to their questions.
Send a message to the Broken Tooth Tribe. Asking for a meeting between leaders.

Clan Frostbeard (message 1 of 1):]

Much of the clan forces have been busy lifting equipment and weapons to prepare for the march back to their homeland, some of the soldiers were contemplating the new commercial possibilities of settling in Gundabad. On the other hand, the Iron Breakers who were reconditioning their equipment to march east, under the command of Baldur.

The commander was checking his troops together with his cousin the king, when a messenger interrupted them midway through.

"King Dralvik, sir!...", said the messanger: "a message from King Alexius", and he handle the scroll to Dralvik.

"Now what?", said Dralvik to himself while unsealing the scroll and reading through it. As he read its content, his face became more furrowed as if he was reading something completely unreadable: "what in the name of...", he sentenced.

"What is it cousin?, bad news?", asked Baldur.

"Well, hmm... I'm, I'm not entirely sure... here, have a read", Dralvik said and passed the scroll to Baldur, whom read it and made the same face of Dralvik.

"It... It seems that our dear friend King Alexius is more of a fan of mead and beer than we are... What in Mahal's name are the forces of Middle Earth? and whats a Favoritism Call?", Baldur said while trying to contain the laugh.

Dralvik was serious for a moment, then joined his cousin laughing as well: "I, I don't know... but we get the message, we get the message... he doesn't need us in the East no more..."

"Aye! but he could have said it though, plain and simple" Baldur said: "hes talking like a sorcerer".

"Yeah, if he prefers the support of the Oath-breaker so be it. We did our part and we should head home", Dralvik said with a serious voice.

"But Dralvik, what should I tell to my forces? Is not good for the moral to be dismissed be an ally king", said Baldur looking at Dralvik and then at his soldier who were muttering.

Dralvik nodded and looked at the ground as he thought: "I tell you what Baldur, you can take the Ironbreaker to Upper Rhudaur and keep training there, once i reach Forochel i will send settlers to prepare the land. Does it sound good?"

"Aye cousin...", Baldur responded.

The king got on his sleigh and gave the order to march, the ground shook with the return of the dwarves.

Move 1700 soldiers from Gundabad to Upper Rudaur.
Move 300 soldiers from Gundabad to Angmar.

.

Broken Tooth Tribe (message 2 of 6):

With none of his messages having been returned by either of the Dwarven kingdoms, the orcs of the Broken Tooth Tribe were preparing to take defensive measures against the approaching armies. The surrounding peoples grew apprehensive about the growing orc domains, and it made the chieftain smile.

"Let them snipe at the fringes and marches. It matters not. In the long run, they will pose little threat, compared to the minor inconveniences they may cause at the borders. Ready the garrisons and organize scouting parties prepared for skirmishes".

When a message did, at last, arrive, it was from an unexpected source.

"The empire of Coldvar wishes a meeting, eh? And wishes it to be just between leaders. Well, fine by me. Thatís how I prefer to conduct my affairs. Send a rider back to Emperor Nikolai. Tell him I agree to meet. Ask him to head to Gorgoroth, as it should the nearest province to him, and I shall ride south now to meet him. Our garrison there will be expecting his arrival".

-----

Send message back to Coldvar, agreeing to a meeting

Attack Middle Rhovanion with 5000 orcs from Horse Plains (subject to change depending on the meeting with Coldvar)

.
.

The Empire of Coldvar (message 2 of 6):

A messenger riding a large wolf caught up with the marching army.

Nikolai read the message and dismissed the rider.

The Emperor waved Aldira down. She landed.

"Aldira, we have a flight to take."

"Where to?" she replied.

"The province of Gorgoroth. Do you know where it is?"

"Yes, on my longer scouting missions. I traveled that way. Is time of the essence?"

"Always."

--------------------------------------------

The Emperor and Aldira fly to Gorgoroth.

.
.

Broken Tooth Tribe (message 3 of 6):

A small party of orcs ride out from the garrison at Gorgoroth. Snicklefritz and a retinue of guards trot out to the clearing ahead, silent but for the wolves snapping at one another in an endless contest for dominance. The orc chieftain had identified a shape on the horizon as the awaited sign, and now hold position until their ally's arrival.

.
.

The Empire of Coldvar (message 3 of 6):

The Emperor saw a clearing with small shapes hanging on the edge of it. Nikolai pats Aldira, and they start a slow descent.

Soon they land in the large clearing. Emperor Nikolai dismounts from Aldira.

"Rest for a bit. We may be moving out as soon as this is over."

"Yes, Nikolai".

The Emperor with Aldira approach the group of orcs. Nikolai stares at the largest orc, and bows.

"Snicklefritz, a pleasure to meet you."

Broken Tooth Tribe (message 4 of 6):

The wolves bristled and snarled as the massive winged reptile landed before them with surprising grace.

"Keep the wolves back. I'll go alone from here."

Snicklefritz dismounted and approached the armored human, eyes wide all the while in awe of the dragon.

"Emperor Nikolai Nāves, we meet at last. The pleasure is all mine. Never in my life have I seen such a creature. Truly magnificent."

The orc chieftain returned the bow, stiff and awkward.

"Whatever is on your mind, that brought you here to my realm in person, I await to hear with eager ears."

.
.

The Empire of Coldvar (message 4 of 6):

The Emperor nods his head. Aldira stretches her head around Nikolai to get a better view of Snicklefritz.

"Hello Chieftain Snicklefritz, my name is Aldira. Thank you for the compliment."

She lays down behind the Emperor with her eyes on the meeting.

"I'm here to choose a side. I'm here to ask you for an alliance. The Empire at this time has foreign troops moving through our provinces heading to attack you."

.
.

Broken Tooth Tribe (message 5 of 6):

Snicklefritz attempted to conceal his surprise when the dragon spoke.

"Aidra. A name sufficiently lovely for you."

He then turned, eyes narrowed, to the emperor.

"You say you have intelligence regarding troops moving on my lands? Whose troops would these be? For what purpose do they move on us?"

"As to the proposed alliance -- I would welcome it, truly. A Great Dwarven Alliance lies to the north, threatening the lands, and I believe that it requires a like alliance to practically counter its strength. And I believe our two peoples have the strength between us to achieve that, and similar-enough outlooks to make it work."

"And the kingdom of Arthedain sprawls far and wide, possessing perhaps a greater expansionist drive than even myself. Though I have hope that they will draw the ire of dwarven and elvish kingdoms in their vicinity, due to their overreach. And your own empire, fortunately, has a buffer state between yourselves and Arthedain."

"So let the haughty elf and the stubborn dwarf fight it out amongst themselves, I say. All the while, we can push north together. The lands of Rohan and the Dru are yours, should you so desire. I have my hands quite full with dwarves in the northeast, though I worry about the Dru on my flank. So make any moves you wish to those lying north of you, though I would recommend leaving the Etyangoldi Alliance where they be, as a suitable buffer."

"We also have the Corsairs allied with us. I do not trust them, but I think they may prove useful in the short term, able to open another front against the northern powers. But I recognize that they turned their armies against you, once already. Should they do so a second time, we of the Broken Tooth Tribe will not hesitate to turn and march on their lands, and we can then divide them up between ourselves."

.
.

The Empire of Coldvar (message 5 of 6):

Aldira was staring at the wolves, she flicks her gaze upon the Chieftain. She smiles, showing off her large teeth.

"Thank you, Chieftain."

The Emperor pats Aldira's head.

"The Kingdom of Arthedain is moving troops through my provinces. Their target is Gorgoroth. I suspect a large force will be used against you. They move on you because of something called Favoritism, and also your growth threatens them. Just like the Dwarves. They fear you will grow too large."

"We both have the sea to our backs. It gives us and added protection. I will naturally protect your western provinces. We have a good natural protection from the other nations."

"My Empire will take those lands, but let us see what the other nations decide to do. Only you and I will know of this alliance. So we have the element of surprise on our side."

"The Empire has made an alliance with the Corsairs. We don't like them, and my soldiers want to tear their heads off. But, I can't have them pillaging my provinces. But, when everything is done, and our nations have pushed back to oncoming armies. The Empire will turn our attention onto the Corsairs."

.
.

Broken Tooth Tribe (message 6 of 6):

Snicklefritz digested the information for a moment. Arthedain, the massive human empire he had just been discussing as a threat.

"This is a...worrying development, I must say. How fortunate I am, however, to have such friendly eyes to my west, keeping watch."

"I will move troops to defend against this threat. Do you have an estimate of the size of these forces? And are you planning to ambush them as they move through your provinces? I ask merely out of a desire to know how large an army I should send in response."

"Either way, this is invaluable information, emperor. I hope that, one day, I am able to repay you in kind. Until then, you have my gratitude. Is there anything I can do for the both of you? If nothing, I do not want to keep you from the matters of your own realm any longer, as you've already sacrificed considerable time and effort to bring me this news."

"And so, I would thank both you and the lady Aldira, once again, for the service you have provided. I look forward to the alliance between our two realms, and wish you both safe journey home."

.
.

Etyangoldi Alliance (message 1 of 1):

-snip-

---
The Etyangoldi Alliance agree to let the army from Arthedain (with destination Gorgoroth) cross into their realm.

.
.

Corsairs of Umbar (message 2 of 2):

Commander Angamaith of the Corsairs sent the following message to the steward of Rohan:
"Umbar greets Rohan! We would very much like to come and see the wonders of your realm and to honour the similarities between our lands, as many times we've heard of Rohan being a sea of grass, a place riddled with farms and small villages.

Perhaps you, steward of Rohan, are weary of all of these happenings and would like someone to bear the burden of securing your most beautiful realm from outside forces? The Corsairs of Umbar are very proficient soldiers and able to defend your provinces in need! We can even train some of your soldiers in our ways; say, send to our way 2000 of your troops and we will turn them into fine soldiers!"

----
Ask for 2000 troops as tribute from Rohan, for protection
Move all from Belfalas to Harondor

.
.

The Empire of Coldvar (message 6 of 6):

"Sadly I do not. But, once they enter our provinces. I'll send the information right away. I have already sent scouts on the border. They will keep track of their movement and the armies size."

"As for an ambush. The Empire's soldiers are currently moving to the capital, but I'm sure I can have them change course. To meet the Arthedain soldiers in Nan Curunir. Our armies will take a blow. The main army has sat for too long, and some of the men are rusty in combat."

"There is nothing I ask of you. And thank you. I wish you well, Snicklefritz."

The Emperor bows once again, and boards Aldira.

"Goodbye, Chieftain. I wish you luck."

Aldira took off.
