At the very center of the Imperium of the Wolves universe lies the Imperial Capital. The pride and glory of thousands of civilizations passed, a structure of such a grand scale that entire solar systems would be encompassed several times over by it’s enormity. The Imperial Capital serves as the central governing body of the government and all it’s branches. Regional organization such as the Imperial Legion and Office of Imperial Intelligence have a heavy presence in the capital, the OII even using the capital for it’s own headquarters. Every civilization of the Imperium is granted the right to hold an embassy in the capital’s many ringworlds. All decisions regarding the Imperium of the Wolves as a whole are decided within the Imperial Senate under the supervision of the Founder and the Delegate.

The capital is two part megastructure built around the blackhole Lupos Regis. Encapsulating the blackhole is a Njörðr VII Harvester, a mirror like megastructure specifically designed to be able to magnify and extract the energy from Lupos Regis. The device is takes advantage of the energy rotating in ergosphere occuring during superradiant scattering process following energy being inserted into the Lupos Regis. The energy is then used to power the many ringworlds rotating around the harvester. However the energy released can also be purely as a superweapon designed to wreck havoc on those that opposed the collective might of the Imperium.

The Basileums, or the vast array of rotating ringworlds powered by the harvester, houses the very pinnacle of Imperial society. Every civilization has a section of a basileum reserved for it’s own use upon joining the Imperium with the intention hosting the most prestigious of each nation. With each civilization, the capital harbors a greater galactic influence in politics, literature, high culture, fine arts, technology, trade, magecraft, military tactics, cuisine and sports. Each civilizations basileum is designed internally by the host, lending credence to the Imperial Capital being regarded by many as one of the most architecturally diverse locations within the Imperium. Externally the ringworlds are identical. Imposing, colossal, eldritch and a prime display of Imperial supremacy.

The Imperial Capital lays at the very center of the Lupus I Galaxy, unreachable by all forms of FTL save for the Hermes Gates provided to all nations of the Imperium. The capital stands alone as all other celestial bodies have been removed from it’s immediate vicinity. The lack of astronomical objects is noticeable to many space faring civilization, as many are able to note the sizable void in space. In a sense the capital stands upon a cliff as it is visible to all, but the defensive systems in place keep all who dare intrude at bay. The surrounding space is dark save for the eerie glow emitted from the capital.

The Hermes Gates while provided to all civilizations that come into contact with the Imperium, several more are scattered across different locations throughout the galaxy. These remote gates, unlike the latest manufactured variants, do not allow transit to the Imperial Capital. Instead they allow for transit across vast distances to the gate it's paired with. Early explorers have noted that some of the paired gates are even on opposite ends of the galaxy, with popular speculation being that these may be of great strategic value for nations that manage to seize control of both ends.

The Imperial Senate

Upon invitation to the Imperial Capital, all newly discovered* civilizations are offered membership to the greater Imperium of the Wolves, the overarching galactic government designed to deal with extra-regional issues and ensuring a relative order is kept throughout the Lupis I Galaxy. The Imperium despite being unified against outside threats, by large is highly divided between nations and various sub factions. By the rules of the galaxy only strongest will thrive and conflict is highly encouraged between its members. All members are invited to send representatives to the Imperial Senate.

The Imperial Senate, within the Grand Auditorium, are granted many responsibilities. They are in charge of passing galactic laws, resolving territorial disputes, and dealing with extra-regional matters. Despite the reputation for infighting, the Imperium is host to a different type of conflict - politics. Representatives of the different member states will leverage ties and spread their influence far across the galaxy. Backroom deals behind the scenes all translate to into moves on the great game played within the Grand Auditorium.

*New nations to Imperium of the Wolves. Discovered in RP terms will denote when a nation came into contact with the greater Imperium
