SOME WINDS IN THE AIR ... :

If you attack Broken Tooth Tribe's territories you get +40 more Favouritism points per province taken from them.
If you want to attack Broken Tooth Tribe's territories but you are not bordering them, then your army that is sent towards their lands can move 2 ticks away towards them:
- irrespective of any other army orders you give in that update (so you still have a maximum movement of 3 ticks or one of 2 ticks and unlimited of 1 tick)
- irrespective of your diplomacy status with your neighbouring factions (you don't have to be allied/friends with and you don't have to wait 1 update whenever you cross a border into another faction's land; as long as they let you walk through their lands - you first have to discuss this).

If you attack Kingdom of Arthedain's territories you get +35 more Favouritism points per province taken from them.
If you want to attack Kingdom of Arthedain's territories but you are not bordering them, then your army that is sent towards their lands can move 2 ticks away towards them:
- irrespective of any other army orders you give in that update (so you still have a maximum movement of 3 ticks or one of 2 ticks and unlimited of 1 tick)
- irrespective of your diplomacy status with your neighbouring factions (you don't have to be allied/friends with and you don't have to wait 1 update whenever you cross a border into another faction's land; as long as they let you walk through their lands - you first have to discuss this).

If you attack Clan Frostbeard's territories you get +15 more Favouritism points per province taken from them.

The factions of Druwaith Folk and The Defender's Fjord should stop future expansion.

Observations:

  • Any faction is able to take advantage of the above bonuses if they have less than the max number of provinces or if they attack other factions that have at least +2 more provinces than the number of provinces they currently own, irrelevant of the amount of provinces they have (so if you have 6 provinces you can attack only other factions that have 8+ provinces).

  • You will not be at war with the other faction if you do not share a border. Your army set to attack for Favouritism points must be clearly mentioned In-Character, as it will have a special army icon. You can only attack an enemy province at their borders, you can't attack their innermost province (and end up attacking any of their other provinces in the process).

  • You can move 1 or 2 ticks (provinces away) per update with this particular army, irrelevant of any other armies you have or army orders you give to your other armies. You can tranverse any faction borders instantly (without having to wait 1 turn on the other side of the border). However, you must ask permission from any faction your army will encounter in their march forward. If you do not get permission or your permission is denied then you will attack and fight for that province, it in turn turning neutral / barbarian afterwards.

  • If your army reaches the destination and it wins, then the remainder of your army returns to your capitol and the province will turn neutal and have as extra defenders half of your remainder army strength.

  • Other faction armies can merge with your army but they will get at maximum half of the bonuses you get (linearly depending on how many troops they send compared to your numbers) and they will fight with 50% forces. You must have either a Friendship or an Alliance with other factions for their armies to merge with your army. For merging, the friends armies must be in the same province as your attacking force.

  • Your army will lose 5% army strength numbers per turn for any turn it is not in your own provinces or your official allies provinces.

  • If you've been the target of such an attack and at a later time you fight to take back the province (against the neutral army now residing there) and you win, you will get 7 more Favouritism points.

The Defender's Fjord (message 1 of 2):
King Alexius decreed that it was a time to rejoice! Gundabad had fallen, and the siege was over! His troops drank and partied all night. In the morning, a runner arrived. "Sir." He said, noticeably quivering. "The Broken Tooth Tribe has taken Eastern Rhovanion." Alexius started drawing up plans immediately. "We will move 800 soldiers back to High Pass, to protect against any potential attacks. The rest of us will march east, to Iron Hills, to prepare to confront the enemy." A messenger is summoned. "Inform King Tulin that the Broken Tooth Tribe threatens our borders, and I am going to meet them and that I request he come to with his army." The messenger nods. Alexius walks with guards to Gundabad to inform Dralvik of the situation personally. "Dralvik, my friend, finally we have taken Gundabad, and the siege is over, and, now we border each other! Now, we have two enemies. The Trolls of Trollshaw, who I hear are trying to surrender, and the Broken Tooth Tribe." He pauses, looking at Dralvik. "I know you may not be familiar with them, but they control most of Western Middle Earth, and have allies in the Corsairs, a faction of pirates and scum. They currently march toward me. I request that you send some soldiers to help me. I have 1600, Tulin has 1600 soldiers. The orcs ave about 4500, putting us at a 1300 top deficit, please spare what you can, or we may soon find ourselves in trouble." When Dralvik sits there in thought, he leaves.

Clan Frostbeard (message 1 of 1):

The place was crowded with cheerfull dwarves of all the kingdoms. Dralvik was deep in thoughts, sitting next to his cousin Baldur and his high commander Toremrouk. He could verely remeber what King Alexius just said, as his mind was stuck in last siege of Gundabad.

The advanced of the Iron-Breakers towards the main gate, the rain fire from King Alexius's Machines, but his mind was stuck expecially in his own performance. When an orcish shield reflected his face, he was able to see his own eyes. Eyes burned coldly, sapphires reflecting a mind not entirely of his own. Rage, and wild eyes. When the battle finish he remember seeing in a reflection his eyes clear in a pit full of water and blood.

He was disgusted, his people have just exterminated an entire nation and it was not the first time. Where is his people going with this? Don't they have enogh soil to settle? What happen to move to greener pastures? What was best for his people, the extermination of another folk? All this questions begain to formulated in his head at once, while his eyes mach those projected in the tankad of beer looking for a sign.

The king lost in his thoughts came to himself when his cousin Baldur told him: "The orcs hit you hard on the head cousin? Remember that beer is to drink, appreciating it in the tank is fine... but not until you let the foam fade".

"Aye!, down the hatch it goes!", Said Toremrouk while drinking to tankards in a row: "Come on Dralvik, cheer up! We still have our head on our shoulders... but remeber no to over think with the head".

Dralvik looked at them boths, and smiled: "I'm starting to look like my old pa', am I?", and took a sip.

"It is normal lad, especially after a big battle like that... The Three Dwarven kingdoms in one battlefield. My... My young friend thats something for your journal if you ask me", Toremrouk said with a beard full of foam.

Dralvik smiled, punch the table and finished the tankard un one move: "You are right wrinkly!".

"I... I... I have my moments of inspiration... yeah", Toremrouk said while slipping off the bench.

Baldur who was the most sober of the trio said: "Cousin, what about about King Alexius? He need our help with the Drunken Tots Tribe... or whaterver they are call... the eastern orcs", and he stared to laugh.

"Aye! ...", Dralvik said and took Baldur by the cheeks to control his involuntary sway when he got up from the bench: "... Aye, King Alexius has honored our call to battle... and so we will. Isn't that right Toremrouk?", Dralvik looked at the old dwarf laying on the floor and the old dwarf responded with a thumb's up.

The standing pair laughed at the sight of the old dwarf in the floor and continued.

"I think we can handle some lousy orcs cousin..." said Baldur.

"Alright, Alright, I will reasume my duties at Forochel... I've had enough of this campaing...", Dralvik said while skiping Toremrouk and taking sit: "... you may go with King Alexius and honor our pact cousin..."

"Wonderfull!", Baldur said and then asked: "but what about the trolls?"

"I think they've got enough alright...", Dralvik said: "...We have no business with them. We shall have peace. Our Dwarven trade-route is secured now... I, I will send word to them... but for now I will take another one... cold and foamy this time".

The Defender's Fjord (message 2 of 2):
Only good news for Alexius today! A dwarf of Dralvik comes, informing him of Dralvik's peace with the Trolls, and his agreement to help against the Broken Tooth Tribe. "This is excellent! Inform Dralvik that I request he sends as many troops as he can, to Iron Hills." The dwarf leaves. Next, he calls in two runners. He tells the first, "Inform King Tulin that we have accepted peace with the trolls and our focus is now directed toward the Broken Tooth Tribe." The runner nods and leaves. The second he tells to go to Ettenmoors. "Inform the King of Trollshaw that we know he has accepted peace with the Clan Frostbeard, so we in return would like to extend an offering of peace as well." The runner leaves. "Now," Alexius says to himself, "I must plan my defense..."

Kingdom of Arthedain (message 1 of 1):

To the Elvea-Falasse:
"King Cirdan,

I've convinced the elves of Etyangoldi Alliance to break their armies up and send some as tribute to me. This leaves their defences significantly weakened. In return, I proposed peace to them. So now I can not attack them any longer, but you can do it by yourself easily, especially with 2000 of their troops now as mine. Or maybe we can leave the Empire of Coldvar take care of them, if they wish and we turn our attention towards the Trolls?

The Trollshaw Realm have been friends with the Etyangoldi and it seems fit for both of their factions to cease to exist.

Please inform us of your decision."

Druwaith Folk (message 1 of 1):

The Dru folk analyzed the request from the Defender's Fjord for an extensive amount of time and, finally, a decision was made.

The realm now looks very dangerous; a dominion to the South (The Empire of Coldvar and the Broken Tooth Tribe tied together with a friendship pact and, maybe, the Corsairs of Umbar), a dominion to the West (The Elvea-Falasse and the Kingdom of Arthedain) and a dominion to the North (Clan Frostbeard, The Defender's Fjord and, maybe, The Woodland Realm).

Part of the reason why the Dru folk didn't take back their sought after land of Ithilien was not to entice things more and to make an enemy without more friends; with the Corsairs lust of territory from Druwaith extinguished, the Corsairs could be enticed to go and grab some from the Empire of Coldvar, breaking the flimsy truce between the Broken Tooth Tribe, the Coldvar humans and the Corsairs. But so far the Corsairs didnt advance into the Empire's realms and things are worrysome.

The Dru folk are going to accept the friendship request from the Defender's Fjord, part because the Dru feel that they're as much as a target for the dominion of the South as the Defender's Fjord are; and with the Coldvar's Empire troops at the Druwaith's western borders and the orcs of the Broken Tooth Tribe to the east ... friends are in need.

"King Alexius Comnenus, we accept your friendship request. However, please know that we might need more than a friendship if we are to join our forces against the expansion from the south. We'd like to ally you, or else we can't fight together. And come with haste with troops as our treescouts inform us of massive army movement at our borders. Leave all you have elsewhere as haste is of utmost importance; or, by the time you get here, part of our lands would be already gone."

Ask for Alliance with the Defender's Fjord since allies can fight together, not friends. However, the Defender's Fjord already has the maximum amount of allies (2), so if they agree, they must demote one to Friends (or to cease the alliance).

Corsairs of Umbar (message 1 of 1):

The Corsairs had a break from fighting in these realms for the period of celebration and holiday in which most of their troops crossed the ocean in their boats, back to their homes. Once a year, the realm of Umbar celebrates the Annual Conquest Competition, where lords of all the factions of Umbar meet and present their spoils of war and only one is crowned winner of the competition.

Commander Angamaith of the Corsairs presented his winnings from Lebennin, Ithilien, Harondor and Sutherland and it was deemed more than the other Umbar commanders gains; thus he was crowned winner, and returned with new determination to the shores of Middle Earth.

"Ahh, 'tis nice to be back. I see the orcs of Broken Tooth hathn't sent any troops; And the Coldvar humans too arrogant. Send an emissary and ask for 1000 orcs from the Broken Tooth Tribe come next update. As for the Empire, let's take Belfalas from them. And give them a note, saying we'll attack it, but if they so much raise a finger, we'll take more."

The Woodland Realm (message 1 of 1):

After the demise of the orcs of Gundabad and the rejuvenation of the dwarfish trade through the mountain passes of the north, the dwarves of the Woodland Realm rejoiced in unison with the rest of the dwarves of the other factions; most of them were located in Upper Anduin, and were close enough to meet with Clan Frostbeard's and The Defender's Fjord's brethren.

Now, however, after the other realms made peace with the trolls, the dwarves of the Woodland Realm lie unsure about their orders. Tulin sent a message to king Alexius:
"King Alexius, what are your new plans? Me and my army moved to Upper Anduin to assist you in conquering the orcs and trolls, but now I notice that you've conquered Gundabad and made peace with the trolls; You no longer need our assistance, so we'll return to our lands. "

The Empire of Coldvar (message 1 of 1):

Emperor Nikolai stands on a hill over looking the plains of Belfalas. Right now the Imperial army sits on the borders of Anfalas and Belfalas.

The army will not cross the border. The Emperor received a message from the Corsairs. He knows where they are going to attack.

After the Emperor read the message he gave it to General Elkins. Who was furious with the deliberate taunt. Elkins wanted to rush the troops to the province of Belfalas.

But, the Emperor denied his orders. He said they were staying put, and they were to train more.

Nikolai was shaken out of his train of thought by the ground shaking. He turned to see Aldira making her way up the hill.

"Hello Aldira. How are the troops?"

Training. Elkins has not let them stop since you ordered it.

"Good, I want the soldiers to be top shape."

What are you planning Nikolai?

"Nothing extraordinary. We have a lot of soldiers, lets put them to use."

Why did you not advance to defend Belfalas? Our numbers may be smaller, but we have home field advantage.

"Except I have been too lax with the men. They have grown lazy. It's time I cracked the whip and try to get them into shape."

Are you going to call in the reinforcements?

"Yes."
