Preamble:
ACKNOWLEDGING: the mutual will of our regions to improve their relationship,
UNDERSTANDING: that the relevance of the implementation of such treaty for
both parties,
NOTICING: the importance for our regions to strengthen their ties,
EMPHASIZING: on the need to increase the ties between the two parties and act
for the betterment of our communities
BY VIRTUE: of the formal desire of mutual leaders to strengthen the ties
between The Free Nations Regions and The Democratic Republic,
HEREBY:introduces the Democratic Republic - Free Nations Region Treaty of
Friendship also known as the “Treaty of Veria”.
This piece of legislation hereby ratifies the following:
Section I:Mutual Defense
The two regions vow to defend one another militarily. They agree to maintain each other's sovereignty and to never violate the integrity of the other. The two mutually recognize the other's sovereignty.
Both regions vow to act in the interest of preserving their mutual sovereignty. No region can prevent the other from joining an interregional military
organization. None of the two regions shall involve the other in a conflict without their consent.
Section II:Governmental Cooperation
The two regions agree to cooperate on the matter of security. They will keep each other informed of any blacklisted members, members of interest, or any other matters which both regions consider of mutual relevance. The regions
agree to take joint measures in regards to any matter they have both agreed to take action on.The two regions agree to carry out joint actions in case of mutually-recognised need, These actions may take any form, as long as they act in the interests of both regions.
The two regions agree to consider passing common laws in order to strengthen their ties and ease the connection between the two communities if they are complying with the Constitution of either regions and is based on the assent of
both regions before enforcement.To ensure autonomy, both RP’s may independently decide to cooperate without involvement of both governments.
The two regions vow to facilitate cross-community interaction via agreed-upon events, which members of both regions shall be permitted to participate in.
The two regions agree to oppose any and all extreme ideologies, including--but not limited to--Fascism, Communism, and nazism, and uphold the rule of law and democracy.
Both regions consent to participate in a monthly diplomatic summit. In said summit, the respective foreign affairs heads, heads of government, and heads of state, along with any other parties deemed relevant by either region, shall
discuss future initiatives through which The Democratic Republic and Free Nations Region's relationship may be strengthened.The two regions agree to allow unrestricted free travel between their citizens (by the means of a puppet nation) and may, through the assent of both regions and their laws, trigger dual-citizenship.
Section III: Acts Of Implementation
This Treaty shall be ratified once it has passed through the respective procedures of both regions, whereafter the regions will commit to respect its contents.
This Treaty provides a clause of flexibility. This present Treaty can be modified if it passes the respective procedures of both regions.
Section IV: Additional Benifits of Diplomacy
The World Assembly Delegates of respective regions may cooperate on co-writing Resolutions for the Security Council or the Assembly of the World Assembly. The two regions may cooperate on the World Assembly Policy to optionally, define a common stance.
Both regions agree to cooperate in the realm of foreign affairs. This Treaty encourages the continuation of such actions.
