KFSA

The Kancian Federal Security Agency, known simply as the KFSA, is a secret police force used by President Ekhon Numik to suppress dissent. It was established in 1998 by the Numik administration to prevent any political opposition from gaining power. It would use torture and forced disappearances to eliminate threats, using mass surveillance to find dissidents. In its 2 decade tenure, tens of thousands of people have been killed by the agency through massacres, executions, forced labor, disappearances and ethnic cleansing. Some 8,000 people have correctly been ‘vanished’ in that they were secretly abducted and all evidence of their existence destroyed.

The origins of the KFSA root back to the establishment of Nationalist Kancia and the following terror. In 1957, the Nationalist Party took control over Kancia and executed over 35,000 people in what would be known as the Kancia White Terror. Following the terror, the Kancian Bureau of Security, known as the KBS, was established to target opposition leaders. It served as President Riack Shunnary’s secret police and abducted and murdered hundreds of notable critics. Thousands of people were tortured by the KBS and many prominent political opponents were executed, with their bodies hidden.

The KBS continued to be used until 1985, when recently appointed president Benev Oulint dissolved the agency in a series of social reforms intended to create a less authoritarian Kancia. He still suppressed opposition, but he was far more liberal than his predecessors. Oulint’s rather moderate approach angered many Nationalist leaders, and would lead to him being ousted by none other than Party Chairman Ekhon Numik.

Upon ousting and usurping Benev Oulint in 1996, Numik wanted to make sure the same fate doesn’t reach him. Over the next 1 and a half years, 16,000 political leaders who were seen as threats were executed and over 750,000 arrested. Following the purge, Numik wanted to maintain repression against opposition. He recreated the secret police in the form of the KFSA. The KFSA would be used to abduct, torture or kill any suspected threat to Numik’s power. They would spy in high ranking officials, assassinating those who disliked Numik. Soon the secret police would be used against the civilian population. Fasch Isum, a high ranking security official who took part in ten 1996 mass killings, was placed head of the agency and orchestrated countless atrocities.

By 1998, the KFSA was in full use, detaining 100,000 people in the first year. Some 25,000 people were tortured in 1999 alone, and hundreds started to go “missing” annually. Secret torture sites were erected across the country to kidnap suspected dissidents into. Extraordinary rendition became ordinary and many hundreds of thousands were taken to KFSA black sites. Electrocution, beatings, waterboarding, sexual assault, strappado hanging, flogging, sleep deprivation and even rat torture has been used by the KFSA to interrogate suspected dissidents. Children as young as 8 are believed to have been tortured. Many are reported to have died from injuries sustained in torture sites, often with people bleeding to death or facing complications from burns and bone fractures. Critics believe those who have been killed in torture centers have their bodies destroyed to hide evidence that they even been tortured. Torture islands have also been created for extraordinary renditions.

Many massacres and atrocities have been perpetrated by the KFSA. The 1999 Kancian Blood River incident saw 400 civilians taken to the edge of a stream and shot, with their corpses thrown in the water. The KFSA is also responsible for carrying out massacres in th Monnesian Republic, a country invaded by Kancia in 2007. KFSA personnel were deployed in Monnesia and massacred thousands of civilians while raping and torturing tens of thousands more in th first few months of occupation. Mass torture, rape, murder and evictions ruined the lives of a quarter of the 800,000 inhabitants of the island nation. The KFSA is also responsible for the crying lake slaughter, where 406 of the 500 inhabitants of an indigenous village were massacred. Prison massacres have also been carried out by the KFSA, resulting in thousands of deaths.

The KFSA is complicit in the current ethnic cleansing of indigenous Kancians, with concentration camps operated by the organization for the ‘aboriginal re-education campaign’. Since 2001, over 400,000 indigenous people have been rounded up and taken to the camps, being 40% of the indigenous population. Torture and forced labor are believed to happen in the concentration camps, and detainees are tortured into assimilating. Inmates are put to manual labor in the camps and face harsh working conditions akin to slavery. Torture and execution is met with anyone who violates the strict rules of the internment camps, which may have resulted in atleast 15,000 deaths.

The KFSA is directly in charge of overseeing Sector-16, a notorious political forced labor field within the KFIA political prison system. Of the 50,000 people who have been sent to Sector-16, over 16,000 perished due to the psychotically brutal conditions. Forced labor is so intense that prisoners’ bones literally erode like sand. Sector-16 inmates are fed rations comparable to Nazi concentration camps, and conditions are extremely unhygienic, causing mass famine and disease. Torture is severe and the KFSA guards overseeing the prison are encouraged to treat prisoners ‘like the frogs they dissect in school’. On top of all that, prison massacres are frighteningly common in Sector-16. The 2008 massacre saw 4,000 inmates executed in a matter of days to cull the population of the camp. The conditions and atrocities in Sector-16 make it one of the most brutal prisons on the planet.

Former president Benev Oulint, who was exiled by the party, wrote many criticisms against Numik. In 2016, he was tricked into going to a flight to Kancia and has never been seen since. All information of his disappearance has been deleted and evidence of his existence is currently being destroyed. Oulint is one of the over 8,000 who are still missing, with intellectuals believing they have been “erased”.

The 2019-2020 protests have seen a sharp increase in alleged KFSA activity. Hundreds of protesters have vanished and thousands have been tortured. The recent protests sparked by events in the US have been met with violent responses by the government and secret police. Some 283 participants in the recent protests are currently “vaporized” and many tens of thousands have been tortured. Dissidents suspect the KFSA is involved in the recent disappearances of numerous celebrities who have supported the protests. The KFSA has also been involved in the secret abduction and murder if thousands of people, most notoriously when they killed all 200 inhabitants of an apartment complex in a single night. Recently in 4 November 2020, ‘Operation Hegemony’ was launched with the intent of the KFSA disappearing anyone who could potentially cause unrest. Hundreds have already been abducted.

Since 1998, over half a million people have been tortured by the KFSA. Thousands have vanished and many alleged crimes against humanity leading to tens of thousands of deaths have been perpetrated by the agency. Numik has maintained an iron grip over Kancia through the KFSA and still remains the autocratic ruler to this day.
