New Spiedska's Distinction
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
New Spiedska's Distinction
Roleplaying aliens existed long before either New Spiedska or myself first landed here, but seldom had races other than the human race been explored in such depth as New Spiedska explored Inklings. Their unique biology, societal norms, and mannerisms makes those squid-folk feel so real that one would not be surprised if they really existed. In doing so, New Spiedska has beaten a path for roleplaying other races, one that is bound to be a light to future and present roleplayers, especially as themes of space and extraterrestrial intelligence are recurring in our roleplay corpus.
New Spiedska also distinguished herself through her character roleplay. While some roleplayers had already explored the private lives of their leaders, few have been tempted to delve into one to one character interactions the way New Spiedska had. From world leaders like President Amanda Miller to the everyday characters like Sophie Meyer, New Spiedska took the time to grant each of her characters a distinct and exceptionally relatable personality. This is as valuable to our shared roleplay as fancy Factbook, high staked diplomacy, or plot-turning events.
In addition to her dedication to her own roleplay, New Spiedska contributed to the NWI's Roleplaying World. Not only through the example she gives to those who want to explore roleplaying characters and other races, but also by her membership in the Roleplay Committee. New Spiedska's aid in creating the Global Events Dispatch deserves commendation by itself. And when she knew she would not be able to follow the high standards she had set for herself, New Spiedska took the courageous decision to leave the Roleplay Committee, though hopefully the Committee will, once more, be graced by the presence of such an upstanding roleplayer in the future.
