Labyrinth Government Update
____________________________________________________

As usual, the Labyrinthian government is hard at work to continue improving the Labyrinth, here's what they've been up to this week.

The Council Update

Alt Accounts Act Passes Unanimously!
Swiftlandia’s Alternate Account Act was unanimously passed this week, tightening the rules of alts. This will help elections remain fair and the government will be keeping a close eye on alts to make sure they don’t pass as voting nations. Despite some early concerns, the entire council agrees that this act will help improve the region’s alts.

Land Gain and Regression Act Crashes and Burns
El Spana’s Land Gain and Regression act was also voted upon this week. The council eventually decided that the act should not be passed for numerous reasons. The act was eerily similar to PPPPCC's Land Gain and Invasion Act, and had hoped to fix some flaws with it. Some council members merely had issues with the format, while others worried that act was not entirely fair.

Council Seat 3 up for election July 13-15
The Labyrinth has an election coming up for the 3rd council seat currently held by PeePeePooPooCaCa, the July election will be a small election, but meaningful and all citizens are encouraged to register for citizenship and vote in the upcoming election. More information on the election and how to run/vote can be found below in the important notices section.

A List of Acts and Documents Mentioned:

(these news updates were written by inter-regional government reporter Doctriniumn)

Cabinet and Monarchy Update

Monarch Update
A message from our king, Minos, to the regional council: Notice to the Regional Council Members I intend to put forth a new policy to smooth out the operations of the Council. All legislation submitted to the Council shall have the raw copied and placed into a new dispatch on the Clerk of the Labyrinth. This way, I will be able to update the legislation when anything is amended by it, and we do not risk a hodgepodge of different laws and acts everywhere on ten different accounts.
King Minos also began the "Champion Program," Champions of the Labyrinth is a program that he intends to use to acknowledge and honor the fantastic contributions of our member nations. Read about it in the following dispatch and let King Minos know if you have any questions, feedback, or think that there's someone in particular that deserves to be a Champion. "I am very excited to implement this program, and I hope that you all enjoy it," [King Minos]. Read about it here

WAluigi Delegate and Vice Delegate Inter-regional activity
El Spana introduced a bill to the council, which was quickly and unanimously shut down. Uber Automated Luxury Cosmic Socialism has not been seen around for a while and questions have begun to arise. Once again a very quiet week in the delegate offices.

WAluigi Delegate WA update
El Spana only voted on 2 resolutions this week, a low number, and introduced no proposals, here's how he voted.
El Spana voted for the World Assembly Resolution Ban on Forced Blood Sports
El Spana voted against the World Assembly Resolution Repeal "Military Identification Tag Act

Foreign Affairs and Embassy Updates
The Labyrinth neither gained or lost any embassies, there is no other foreign affairs news at this time

Internal Affairs News
Munifia has been very quiet and inactive, some have begun to wonder about his position as Secretary of Internal Affairs. We will keep you updated on this situation.

Cultural Affairs
Swiftlandia has begun work on designing a replacement continent two and officially added terrain to the map. Swiftlandia is also been busy at work on the Labyrinth Times newspaper, and may begin work on a few more projects soon.

Labyrinth Regional Activity, and Embassy Region News

New Nations
The Labyrinth gained 12 new nations this week, none have made introductions on the RMB yet, but we are always glad to have new nations. Welcome!

CTE'ed Nations and West Korea!?
16 nations ceased to exist this week in the Labyrinth, we will miss them all. The big news is about The united states of western korea, who was banned by a NationStates moderator. West Korea was an active member of our roleplay and RMB, when all of a sudden one morning his nation was banned. This was a shock to many Labyrinthians, because it was a ban by an official moderator, a serious offense must have taken place. He still has one alt in the labyrinth, in which he came on and announced he will be back in one month, he provided no further information. The government will be keeping a very close eye on his activity and hope to discover what happened. This is a very intriguing situation, and we will keep you updated.

EMBASSY REGIONS’ NEWS

Our good friends at 21st Century Rome recently established a student exchange program, and sadly, there was also a minor land dispute involving Alexander the Magnus.

There was recently a conflict in 21st Century Rome involving numerous nations such as Romaniche, Novos Romanos, Azoris, Kamchakta, among others. A treaty was signed and reconstruction has officially started.

In phoenix partners, Puppet SCP Fuadation recently started a corporation agreement similar to a stock market in which corporations in the region register and see their companies’ values, they can also role play with them. The Labyrinth greatly supports this.

The Vincence Kingdom is also currently debating whether nations currently not in an alliance to create one and start a cold war so look out for some interesting upcoming scenarios.

Labyrinth RP news
____________________________________________________

It's been a busy week for the Labyrinth roleplay, so lets get into it

Collapsed governments
Starting off with some sad roleplay news the government of West Korea has fallen. West Korea was an active member of our roleplay community. It is a sad day to see him go. He still has alts and said he may be back in one month's time. His former nation's land has been claimed by MoneyGoodLand. We will let you know of any developments

New nations
There were no new nations introduced on the RMB, or added to the roleplay map

Wars/Invasions
We have some major news regarding the Poland War, and East Kazakhstan War.

Polish/Hersse War
We'll start off with the Poland war, Poland, who attempted a change to capitalism in order to join the ESA, had a major fascist uprising, which was supported by the neighboring Hersse. Hersse had been pushing the Polish back into the capital. Many nations supported Poland and the capitalist side, but alas it was not enough and the fascist uprising took control of Poland. The situation remains very unstable, and could spark another war in the future. Neighboring nations are advised to keep a close eye on the situation and keep heightened security at the Polish border.

Kazakh Federation Civil War
There is also major news on the East Kazakhstan front, the levant declared war on the Kazakh Federation. The communist levant became a war ground between the capitalist Kazakh Federation and communists, the communists despite being outnumbered drastically, the levant was insanely well equipped from an unknown outside source. The war quickly became a stalemate, with no gains by either side. The capitalist Kazakh Federation began having foreign intervention from the Flex Sealian Brotherhood, PPPPCC, Ugosal, and West Korea (former). The war remained a stalemate, but finally the capitalists began making traction, and advancing on the levant. The capitalists eventually after a long, hard, intense war pulled through, and restored power of the levant to the Kazakh Federation. The area finally has a little bit of peace. However, the area is still pretty hostile and remains an area to keep an eye on.

MoneyGoodLand's Struggle with Domestic Terrorism
Earlier this week MoneyGoodLand had announced that a secret society known as "The Panto Society" who aimed to bring down authority in all ways, shapes and forms, and posed a significant risk to national security. The MoneyGoodLand Secret Service went right to work on dissolving the issue. The Panto society began committing acts of violence and destruction around MGL, the group began to grow and agents were found in The Kazakh Federation, West Korea and El Spana, this was becoming a serious issue not only for MGL, but for all of the Labyrinth. The group spread quickly, but between the MGLSS, and international agencies the group was mostly dissolved, they could come back though and remain a threat to the Labyrinth. We will keep you informed on any incidents regarding the society.

Elections
The Minosian presidential election began this week, while results have not became official yet, it appears that Dana Moissa is the front runner with Kastan Yarrick not far behind, we will give full results when they become available, more information about the election can be found here

Events
Winston Lake
The Kazakh Federation has begun construction on a city, which aims to be larger than the current capital city of Oskmen, the city is located on the shore of a major lake and looks to become a major hub of the Kazakh people

Economic Collapse in GGAE
A major economic collapse has taken place in Greater German Austrian Empire, following not long after their meeting with fellow Labyrinth leaders, at this time they are asking for any foreign aid in order to help the struggling people.

(The roleplay news was written by editor in chief Swiftlandian Peoples Republic)

THE LABYRINTH WEEKLY ECONOMIC AND INTER REGIONAL REPORT

STOCK MARKET

Puppet SCP Fuadation made a 2.5 billion dollar investment towards the company, Imperial Armed Defense. This is one of the largest stock market investments so far and due to this, such investments would need to be renewed every week instead of every month due to its size and influence over the company’s outcome in the market. Indoinastan invested in the nation’s companies as well, and Commie Tebit joined the market with a few companies.

The stock market’s algorithm has been revealed, it involves a mix of number of companies in a single market, how long they’ve been in the stock market, and high level investments.

Romaniche, Novos Romanos, and The Greater German Austrian Empire submitted new companies to the stock market. Ugosal, The Greater German Austrian Empire and Plus Nova Imperii also invested

TRADE

In response to the massive Kazakhstan/Capitalist Levant V Communist Levant War, PeePeePooPooCaCa traded weapons such as cannons, muskets, and trebuchets to support the capitalist side.

Numerous nations, most notably Ugosal, started hiring agents from MoneyGoodLand to help in protection during these wars.

PeePeePooPooCaCa traded 100,000 fish in return for 100 million Ugosalinese Dollars with Ugosal.

OTHER ECONOMIC NEWS

As part of PeePeePooPooCaCa’s international economic campaign, numerous companies and workers were relocated to the newly united Levant following the war.

During the Poland-Hersse war, numerous nations such as Ugosal started financing and economically supporting sides in the war, with Ugosal supporting Poland.

Ugosal’s messages were misunderstood as him begging and forcing other nations to pay him, but the LoL and him sorted things out.

(The economic report was written by Economic consultant PeePeePooPooCaCa)

Labyrinth Weather

An overcast day for most of the west. Expect showers in the Money Good Land islands, a very stormy day in the midwest, with some serious flooding possible in and around Embilic. Scattered storms and hot temperatures near 96 (36) degrees around Swiftlandia. Mostly fine in the south, except for brief rain in South Norun. In the Central Plateau, temperatures are expected to skyrocket, including a whopping 106 (41) Degrees in Ugosal. For the east, it is a fine day, but a chilly start for East Kazakhstan, which will start at 49 (10) Degrees.

THE MGLC SEASON 2
Yes the seasons come that quick my friend

Updates:
The way the games will be played remain the same as in season 1, no change in rules.
We do have a new team to welcome, as we recently attained a new territory, the Korean islands, who now have territorial number 12, and their team is the Korean Islands Football Club, KIFC
This means there will be no extra round, as we have an even amount of teams.
Other than that, the cup will remain the same. 3 points for wins, 1 point for tie, 0 for loss. If 2 teams tie in the leaderboards, the total of goals will each count as 1 point. Top 8 in the leaderboard will qualify.

Round 1

PFC-AC
A heated match, few penalties, just scoring. PFC managed to come on top of MBB this time.
5-4 to PFC

KCSO-UJS
How does he do it? I don't know. Perhaps it is the knowledge of his whole people watching him and believing him. But somehow Uncle Joe managed to win this one as well. It is just incredible that this man plays better than most professional fully fleshed-out teams
1-4 to UJS

TFC-CCFC
Two teams that have nothing against each other for once, and they actually kinda get along. The result of the match was a crowd-pleaser, despite its lack of conflict

//Frank Kankleton, soon to report from the real cup

UJS-BCC
Uncle Joe takes the lead in the first half, and the BCC tries their best to stop him in this rematch, but this time, the lone man managed to win.
4-2 to UJS, UJS moves on

AC-KIFC
The KIFC performed less well than expected from their excited populous during the qualification rounds, but managed to put the whole nation flat on its back when it scored 6 goals in this match against AC who kept it at a reasonable 4 goals. What The Heck.
4-6 to KIFC, KIFC moves on

ETFC-MBB
Well... What was previously the most hyped match in history in the first season. And a qualification match that couldn't be played due to WAR. Now it has to be played. MCSS agents were stationed all around, and barely anyone was allowed to watch the match. MBB couldn't stop thinking about last season's final, and slipped on their chance for redemption. They held a tie throughout the game, but at the very last minute they let in a goal from ETFC.
3-2 to ETFC, ETFC moves on

PFC-PEFC
Uninteresting match, but they tied it.
Penalties:
Tinganiki shoots and misses
George Jonhsson shoots and misses
Bookakarako shoots and misses
John Smith shoots and puts it in, 0-1 to PEFC
Pangajonta shoots and misses
John Dough shoots and misses
Heihisamki shoots and puts it in, 1-1 tie
William Petersson shoots and misses
Tranajano shoots and misses
Felix Johansson shoots and puts it in, PEFC wins by penalties
2-2 Tie, Penalties:1-2 to PEFC, PEFC moves on

UJS-KIFC
A SHOCKING UPSET. Maybe it was the tight schedules, maybe it was the bad odor in the locker-rooms, but somehow Uncle Joe lost! The tsardome's people are devastated, and just hope to win next time.
3-4 to KIFC, KIFC moves on... somehow...

ETFC-PEFC
The previous season's winner just couldn't take the last stretch. It was the final minutes of the game, but they let in 2 goals after having a tie the whole game. MBB laughs their bottoms off.
2-4 to PEFC, PEFC moves on

Finals
AND NOW THE GAME NOBODY ASKED FOR, EVER!
KIFC-PEFC
Both teams try their best, but realizing there is no people to show the powers of democracy too, the PEFC loses momentum in the second half. KIFC who doesn't fight for a message, but for territorial pride after losing their government fights on. They manage to score a final, earth-changing goal, giving the lead to them throughout the rest of the game. KIFC, who played so poorly during the opening qualification rounds, has managed to take the crown from ETFC, and has become this season's Champions. And I'm thinking I gotta implement some sort of skill factor into this simulator honestly.
4-3 to KIFC, KIFC wins the whole darn cup!

And there you have it folks

//Frank Kankleton, OUT!

Other News

EXCLUSIVE: Interview with soon retiring Speaker of the Council Merni

Our editor in chief, Swiftlandia in follow up to last week's story regarding Merni's upcoming government retirement, has an exclusive interview with one of our region's oldest and most influential members Merni, discussing the council and Labyrinth as a whole
1. Why did you join the council and what did you hope to accomplish while in the council?
2. Do you think the council accomplished/accomplishes what it needs to for the Labyrinth?
3. How do you think the council will perform and what direction do you think it is headed after you leave?
4. What changes and/or improvements, do you think need to be made to the council and the Labyrinth in general?
5. Do you think the government is doing their job, and helping the Labyrinth, what improvements do you think need to be made to the council and government if any?
6. Do you like the way The Labyrinth is right now, and the direction it is headed, and why do you think this?
7. What is your favorite part of the Labyrinth?

1. I joined the council mainly because it was a new part of the regional governnment. I had proposed and campaigned for a regional parliament a number of times, but until
now it had never been actually done. Plus, the lockdown made me more free to participate in regional affairs, since I had retired earlier only because I was too busy in
real life to participate fully in regional affairs. I hoped to bring some change and stability to the region, in this time of rapid expansion and unprecedented activity,
and to bringsome experience to the legislature, which was otherwise filled with new members who were definitely capable, but lacked some experience. Unfortunately, due to
RL constraints lately, I haven't been able to do as much as I hoped.

2. We still have a long way to go, but I do think that the council has brought a larger element of democracy to the government, by opening its workings to the public and
allowing anyone to propose a bill. Of course, this also comes with challenges, since many bills proposed to us are not as well-written or fully thought out as we would like.
I'm confident that as time goes on and we get more experience, the Council will be able to solve these initial problems, especially by encouraging Council members to
introduce more amendments to bills to make them more clear and well-defined.

3. I think the council will perform in whatever way its members take it. If its members let it languish and become inactive, then that's what will happen. If, as I'm seeing
now, members are active and enthusiastic, it will become better and better. There is still some time until I leave though, and I hope to do as much as I can while I'm still
in.

4. To the council, we need to have some guidelines that citizens can follow when submitting acts, to make them clear and well-written. For the region in general, I would
like to see more effort to train citizens on how to do better roleplay -- the roleplay training programme needs to be scaled up and made much better and more - how to say -
formalised, with things like written RP examples from longer and more high-quality RP posts.

5. I'm sure the government is doing the best it can. Apart from the RP training suggestion, which I think could be prioritised more, I don't have any new suggestions for how
the government should do their job. In general I've always been pro-democracy, so I always believe the government could improve on that count, but I don't think any new
constitutional changes are likely to be implemented right now.

6. There are aspects that I like and those that I don't. As ever, I love this region's community and its somewhat casual nature, which is for me the best thing about this
region. One thing I don't like right now is the spammy and low-quality nature of the RP and the region in general. I think that the region could be improved greatly if
we took some steps to improve the quality of our RP, which right now feels more like a casual chat than an RP. I'd also like to see better-written bills submitted to the
Council, but I don't know how to do this yet.

7. Definitely the community and the casual fun.
