To be fair, you have to have a very high IQ to understand the Quran. The meaning is extremely subtle, and without a solid grasp of Classical Arabic most of the information will go over a typical reader’s head. There's also Iblees's nihilistic outlook, which is deftly woven into his characterization - his personal philosophy draws heavily from his disobedience to Allah. Scholars understand this stuff; they have the intellectual capacity to truly appreciate the depths of these Ayats, to realize that they're not just beautiful- they say something deep about LIFE. As a consequence, people who dislike the Quran truly ARE idiots- of course they wouldn't appreciate, for instance, the start of every Muslims action begins with the saying “Bismillah al-Rahman al-Rahim” is a reference to the start to 113 out of 114 chapters in the Quran.
