My Submitted Issues/WA Proposals

My Issues

Submitted:

Full Time for Female Football? (co: Australian rePublic)

Draft Thread

Commentary: I am a huge football fan in real life and I regularly read the news for football stuff. Rather recently the USNWT was demanding for fair pay et cetera and I included it as an option in my previous attempt at a football issue when Australian rePublic suggested that I do a separate one on this. My first attempt wasn’t that good so they helped me rewrite one and became co-author.

Hard to Stomach

Draft Thread

Commentary: Only my fourth attempt at an issue, I feel this is one of my favorites. I was watching YouTube one day and came across these food competitions. It is revolting but also interesting. Anyway I researched it and saw that people literally die from these competitions. I wrote an issue about it and submitted it to the Fifth Issues Contest.

Honey, Where is My Super Speed?

Draft Thread

Commentary: After a few scrapped attempts at issues, Australian rePublic once again came up with a suggestion from them, which was to do an issue on false advertising through brand name/slogan. I also submitted this one to the issues contest and it’s partly based on the Red Bull gives you wings lawsuit.

Suit Yourself!

Draft Thread

Commentary: Based on Jutsa’s issues idea on their list about nudist camps in prudish nations, I decided to write a slight vice versa on the Althaniq Ambassador issue. This ended up being my final submission to the issues contest.

Accepted:

None... yet.

My Security Council Proposals

Submitted:

Liberate the Arab League

"Draft" Thread

Commentary: Well this was years ago and it’s kind of a hot cringe proposal. In fact, it was garbage. However I was a noob and I was the former delegate of the Arab League and I was angry at BLITZKRIEG for tricking us so I submitted this as soon as possible and got ten approvals away from quorum when the founder returned and banned the raiders, so I withdrew it there and then.

Passed:

None... yet.

My General Assembly Proposals

Submitted:

Restrictions on Blood Sports

Draft Thread

Commentary: This was my first ever GA foray, and it was as chaotic as I expected. My inspiration was from my country’s history, in which the government decided to give people cockfighting licenses to earn money as there was no tax at all. I thought about cockfighting and how cruel it was so I wrote a proposal to ban it. I submitted it and started campaigning but it was deemed illegal for contradiction so I pulled it. I was so frustrated that I rushed the second submission and there was a telegram fiasco, as I sent the old campaign telegram to around 400 delegates (which contained an expired link). I ended up begging delegates for approval and it made quorum in the nick of time. It got a high amount of votes despite a TNP and TWP stomp, but was defeated in the end. I hope to revise this soon.

Regulating Desalination: See below.

Passed:

Regulating Desalination (co: Kenmoria)

Draft Thread
Official Link

Commentary: I was inspired by yet again my country, which uses desalination as a method of providing clean water for citizens. I asked around in the GA Ideas thread and came across Kenmoria, whom I asked for help to draft. They gladly accepted and helped with ironing out issues. Araraukar was also a big help in the drafting process. I submitted it soon after but yet another telegram fiasco as Kenmoria’s client key expired due to lack of use. However Maowi came to the rescue by offering their client key, allowing Kenmoria to campaign. Regulating Desalination managed to accumulate a whopping 5500+ individual nation vote and passed. Woohoo!

Ban on Forced Blood Sports
Draft Thread
Official Link

Commentary: Take two, even more insane than the last. While telegram campaign went smoothly, there were many up and downs, including the drop of a 2000 vote lead in a few hours following the delegate vote switch of XKI, as well as the against votes from the delegates of TNP and TWP. Nevertheless, it pulled through following the for votes cast by TEP outgoing delegate Marrabuk, as well as Europeia delegate Aexnidaral and the Pacific delegate East Durthang. The lead was held narrowly and it passed, becoming GA 498 and my second ever GA resolution.
