Kelsang Aukatsang, born April 11th, 1979, is an Saintriluian politican and a retired Saintrilu Defense Force Air Forces Colonel who serves as the nation's Prime Minister. She served as a fighter pilot in the SDFAF (Saintrilu Defense Force Air Forces) from 2002 to 2010. From 2010 to 2014 she served as the 110th Fighter Squadron Commander at Tashi Air Force Base. She then moved up to Commander of the 7th Fighter Wing at Yangzom AFB where she served until retiring in 2020. After retiring from the SDFAF, Aukatsang announced her candidacy for Prime Minister of Saintrilu. Aukatsang was the first female combat veteran to run for and eventually win the election for Prime Minister.

Early Life

Kelsang Aukatsang was born April 11th, 1979 in Khoit. She was the oldest of three children born to Ilm Aukatsang and her husband Tselha Aukatsang. Kelsang Auktasang embraced the Buddhist faith as a teenager. Her first name means Ocean of Good Fortunes. She was raised in a multicultural household, her mother was Saintriluian while her father was from Vietnam.
Aukatsang was raised according to the teachings of Shinzan Miyamae Roshi. She has stated his work still drives her to this day. Aukatsang got her Bachelor's Degree in Aviation from the University of Khoit.

In 2001, Aukatsang joined the SDFAF at the age of 22 and became a fighter pilot flying the J-11, now retired, until 2009 when she was transferred to the J-10. She flew the J-10 until 2010 when she was selected to be the new commander of the 110th Fighter Wing at Tashi Air Force Base. The 110th Fighter Wing flew and to this day still flies the J-10. In 2014, she was selected to be commander of the 7th Fighter Wing at Yangzom Air Force Base where she served until retiring in 2020. As a fighter pilot she was awarded the Distinguished Service Medal and the Defense Superior Service Medal. Her Wing flew the mission to provide escort for aircraft rescuing Emahan officials in New Collieland. Aukatsang even elected to fly the mission herself in on her wing's J-10s.


Political Views
Auktasang identifies as a social democrat. She belives in advocating economic and social interventions to promote social justice within the framework of a liberal democratic polity and a capitalist-oriented mixed economy. She prides herself on a commitment to representative and participatory democracy, measures for income redistribution, regulation of the economy in the general interest and social-welfare provisions. Auktasang was a major supporter of the Basic Income Act that granted every Saintriluian citizen ʂ500 a month for life. She ran for Prime Minister promising to strength the Basic Income Act stating that its benefits include "healthier people, less stressed-out people, better-educated people, stronger communities, more volunteerism, and more civic participation.

Aukatsang has also bounced around the idea of a program to give every Saintrilu ʂ100 every year use or lose, to donate to political candidates of their choice. She states it aims to drown out corporate money resulting from political lobbying.

Aukatsang is a dedicated Buddhist and devotes herself to a traditional Saintriluian lifestyle.
