Due to the pacifist nature of the Government of Montevento, the Republic has repeled its right to declare war to foreign nations, being one of the few states in the world with a clausule on its constitution forbidding the declaration of wars or participation on aggressive campaigns, being only able to use military force in case of a direct aggression against Montevento itself or one of its allies.
In 2006 the National Council of Montevento passed a law considerably decreasing the funding of the armed forces (which by law now cannot exceed the 0,5% of the GDP), together with limiting the maximum possible amount of active personnel that the FF.AA. di Montevento can have at times of peace, reducing it to just 9.000 people (not including administrative personnel or unarmed personnel). This was done as an attempt to further demilitarise the country and reduce costs.

Overview |
Founded⠀⠀ | 28 March 1953. |
Size | 854 active personnel |
Role(s) | Air Defense and Warfare |
Motto | "Sopratutto" |

Service Uniform |
The Air Force (Italian: Aeronautica Militare) is one of the four main branches of the Armed Forces of Montevento under the Monteventani Ministry of Defense. It was founded in 1953 by orders of the Doge of the Republic when the Military Aviation Academy (Accademia per l'Aviazione Militare) was formed at a small airport 50 km from San Giovanni.
According to Monteventani laws, the mission of the Air Force is "To defend the honor, the independence, and the peace of the Republic, the integrity of its territory, its constitution and its laws. To be an exemplary Air Force, though small according to the possibilities of the country, with a high degree of professionalism and skill, with modern and suitable equipment, capable of dissuasion and being a pride to the nation."
The Aeronautica Militare is the smallest of all the branches of the Armed Forces, with only around 854 active personnel, however, it is the only branch growing in size, also receiving an increasing budget, while the rest loose members yearly due to the demilitarisation efforts of the Government.
The Air Force is currently involved in search and rescue missions, disaster assistance, and transportation to remote locations within the country, such as the small towns and villages found in the south of the country, where access is difficult due to the dense rainforest covering the zone.
• BRIGADES AND SUPPORT GROUPS OF THE AIR FORCE
The Monteventani Air Force has three main brigades and various support groups:
❖ Brigade I: It is the oldest of all the brigades. It is composed of the Transport Squadron and the Helicopter Squadron. The Brigade I controls and coordinates most rescue missions and usually helps with the evacuation of civilians due to natural disasters. It also performs firefighting missions.
❖ Brigade II: The second brigade is composed of the Attack Squadron, Fighter Squadron and Advanced Flight Squadron.
❖ Brigade III: The third brigade is mostly devoted to observation and liaison activities.
The Monteventani Air Force also includes Service divisions for Logistics, Communications and Computer Science, Information, Infrastructure, Maintenance, Meteorology, Health, Remote Aerospace Sensors, and Transport.
