That Time of the Month

Woo, elections, no one can get enough of elections in The Democratika that's for sure... *Pained sobbing in the background*... why, yes, it's that time of the month again: elections. In fact, because of the sheer number of elections, the council is currently trying to figure this whole business out as to not unintentionally start an anti-democratic movement from annoyed citizens being told to vote all the time. This current election is for Candanadium's council seat, and boy are there just a whole 2 candidates this time around! Currently, Candanadium is running again, and the very frustrated Alayka who had more than just a few words to say on the state of council elections, all of which were completely valid. Read Alayka's platform further down below for more on the matter. Cand's lengthy platform has also been posted down below. For this election season, WA membership is not required to vote, and instead of a preferential vote it will be by simple majority. Voting opens Saturday (When I wake up) and closes Monday (10:00PM ish EST). Note: as of writing this sentence the council has voted 4 in favour of having an "irregular election schedule for councillors where [the council] run[s] elections whenever the majority of people think it's time[.] Elections can only be held at least one month [our current election schedule] after the previous council election". What this means is that at any time after that one month grace period, a citizen can propose elections to the government (it could be to either the council or parliament, just in case you distrust the council) and a poll will be created for roughly a week (or shorter if it is a massive majority). If the majority find that they are in favour of elections, a council position will officially be up for grabs and we'll go through our regular campagin week followed by voting. Don't worry, there are still concrete elections for parliament: every 6 months if you were wondering. So, please, if you haven't voted before because of WA restrictions, this is the best time to participate in the system that makes this region so great. "I am once again asking for your financial support,

Yes, I'm running for councillor again. Why, you might ask? Because I f*cking love this region. I love everything about the Democratika, from Dima's (Union of Dimonian Socialist Republics's) eggs to Urrang's (Urrangslan's) obnoxious use of custom emojis, and I love every single Democratikan, which is why I've been serving the Democratika ever since Akarexit (when Akarea temporarily left the region). I have been a part of ten Executive Councils to date, and I also led the region for three months. I have had extensive experience in managing and participating in the regional roleplay, something that has recently been rejuvenated in this region. I have written and recorded two patriotic songs for the region, and have also served as Editor-in-Chief of the Demochronikle.

If I am re-elected to office, I promise to do the following:
- Take over the Demochronikle full-time. It is a duty I have been neglecting for some time now, and the responsibility has fallen on Dima's shoulders, but no more.
- Continue to actively participate in the roleplay and work with my fellow roleplayers. It has been my goal to keep the regional roleplay healthy, and during most of my tenure in the Council as Minister of Roleplay/Communications, the roleplay has been diverse and active.
- Produce more cultural symbols for the region. I plan on re-recording the regional anthem as I'm not entirely happy with the current recording. Dima has also approached me to record some other regional music, which I will gladly do.

So please, allow me to keep serving you to the best of my ability, like I have always done.
