The Mystery of the Waylayed Wasabi

List of Suspects

Nemonicus: Local lunatic, acts like he practically owns the place

The magician mitzi: Magic is the bane of logic and enemy of empirical research, this individual in particular doesn't seem too shady but that's just how it is

Morocco mole: The fact that the mole-thief is on this list should comes as no surprise

John Constantine: Magic again

Pretty periwinkles: Seems overly interested in this case for some reason...

Janisport: He's around here... somewhere

Harteath: Unlikely to have stolen their own sandwich, but I like to have all bases covered and if it turns out my client was the culprit all along I charge double to keep silent

Case Report

The hunt for the fridge-raider began in the break-room of Agora, which is well hidden within the city, how the thief was able to find it is still a mystery. There it was discovered that the culprit had escaped, maybe even entered, through an open window in the break-room. Additionally, some footprints were discovered, as I set out to track down whoever had stolen from the fridge I was joined in my endeavour by Pretty periwinkles, together we tracked the footprints to the Avadam Inn.

When we arrived at the inn we immediately began questioning the residents who revealed that there had been a recent theft of some carrots, the muddy footprints we had been following had stopped by the inn's kitchen before proceeding. There had also been a fire, the matchbook used to set it was from a coffee shop located in Chicago, possibly a place frequented by the perpetrator. Once there, Peri's dramatic entrance was mistaken for a robbery, which startled the patrons, making extracting information a bit more difficult. Sure enough, they were missing a few things as well, unlike the other incidents this time it was a bottle of peppermint oil and a tour bus that had been stolen. Unfortunately for our investigation no one had actually seen the crime being committed, so we had no idea what the person we were after looked like.

Later on some tire tracks were discovered in the alley, they lead to The Local Supermarket, which is where we found the bus abandoned in the parking lot without its wheels. After talking to an employee who told us of yet another stolen item, a wagon, it was concluded that the culprit had likely made off with the bus tires hoping to sell them at a nearby auto shop. When questioning the proprietor we found out that there had indeed been someone attempting to sell some tires that likely came from a bus, however he had been rebuffed and was last seen buying a ticket at the Bus Stop. So we went there and when we arrived we were told that a man carrying twelve tires on a wagon had bought a ticket a few days ago, we said that we had to take the same bus he had but since that one didn't leave until a week later we took a private bus instead. Apparently he had been hiding in a little commune known as The free society of Tic Tacs, we found him sitting atop the stolen wheels, and identified him as "A raiding raider".

At first he tried to explain everything away, stating that he had simply chanced upon all the stolen goods in this exact spot, however he quickly dropped the act and confessed everything. When I tried to have him arrested he deployed a get-away plan and launched himself to the Rejected Realms, making him impossible to follow. Most of the stolen goods were recovered, except for the eponymous wasabi, the sandwich, and the carrots, which 'RR' had eaten. With the case closed, Holmes and Peri headed back to Agora, although they have not lost hope that they will someday encounter the raiding raider again and bring him to justice.
