The criticisms of this Confederation are just. We have, time and time again, behaved in a way that is unacceptable. We have been petulant, erratic and, at times, malevolent. We have infringed upon regional sovereignties. We have caused the wider interregional community unnecessary grief.

Today, the Confederation of Corrupt Dictators issues a formal apology for its actions over the last two years.

We acknowledge and condemn our offensive operations against (the now destroyed) Yorktown Aristocracy, the memory of which lives on in the surviving nation of Yokrton. Yorktown, we are sorry.

We acknowledge and condemn our offensive operations against The New Mappers Union and its founder, Democratic Empire of Romania. DER, we are sorry.

We acknowledge and condemn our offensive operations against Europe and its delegate, Imperium Anglorum, whom we unjustly vilified throughout the World Assembly. IA, we are sorry.

We acknowledge and condemn our offensive operations against other regional founders and delegates. We are sorry.

We acknowledge and condemn our offensive operations against The North Pacific and its delegate, McMasterdonia. We admit to the conception and execution of “Operation 84”. We accept responsibility for the actions of Ikea rike and its attempted violation of The North Pacific’s sovereignty. TNP, we are sorry.

We acknowledge and condemn our tyrannical administration over our own Confederation nations and peoples. We apologise to those member nations who have suffered as a result of their association with the Confederation. CCD, we are sorry.

We acknowledge and condemn all our actions that have disrupted the daily workings of nations and regions. We acknowledge and condemn our incessant wiring of telegrams. We acknowledge and condemn our manipulation and abuse of the World Assembly. NationStates, we are sorry.

As we reflect on our past behaviour, we realise that the time has come to embrace a new Confederation. We understand that, although the journey will be a slow one, we must move forward to build for our community a very different future.

We acknowledge and condemn the irate leadership of Jocospor, along with the policies of its Imperial Law. Forthwith and so according to the contingency plan “Operation Seismic Toss”, ShrewLlamaLand will replace Jocospor as the Confederation’s World Assembly Delegate. Jocospor will assume a less authoritative role within Confederation society, and Imperial Law will be corrected over time to reflect the Imperial Empire’s newfound position.

We acknowledge and condemn the offensive embassies that we have held over time. To pay our respects, we have commenced the closure of all the Confederation’s embassies, save the penal colony of Vangmar and the military asset of Chrome Company. We understand that we should have taken this move long ago. To all those we have hurt through our association with undesirables, we are sorry.

We resolve that a new page in our region’s history can now be written, one that embraces all nations of this Confederation, our regional allies, and the greater NationStates community as a whole.

To the nations of the Confederation, we say: Do not interpret this apology as one of weakness. This is an apology of maturity, one that should have been delivered long ago. There is no humiliation to this act, only sincerity.

To the sovereignties and communities of NationStates, we say: there will be change. We do not expect that we shall be forgiven overnight, nor do we expect to be forgiven. We do not deserve forgiveness. We acknowledge this. We are sorry.

Yet there will be change, and change for the better.
