Parliamentary Election Campaign Package
This package contains a guide on how the voting system works for this election, information on the positions candidates are running for, and the platforms of all running candidates. This package will be written in labelled paragraphs to make skipping certain areas easier. Voting ends Monday.
The voting system in this election will be a preferential ballot. It will take place on Google Forms and will require of voters their emails (to stop duplicate voting, and emails will be erased from the record after voting closes) as well as their nation name. As an extra precaution, voters are also required to hold WA membership, however an appeal can be made to Union of Dimonian Socialist Republics to acquire special privilege. This special privilege transfers over to future elections so multiple appeals are unnecessary. If you were able to vote in previous elections and do not hold WA membership, you currently hold special privileges. If you wish to change your vote at any point, contact Union of Dimonian Socialist Republics about changing your vote.
Currently, the candidates (4 of them), are running for 3 Member of Parliament positions. As MPs, they will be part of the International Congress (InterCon) parliament alongside allied region MPs, as well as part of the domestic regional parliament. NOTE: MPs will NOT be working with other regions when in REGIONAL PARLIAMENT. They will be working with each other for The Democratika and no other group. While in InterCon, MPs are responsible for running and improving the inter-regional alliance. While in regional parliament, MPs are responsible for upholding, maintaining, and improving upon The Democratikan Constitution and the region as a whole.
The litzelands' Platform:
"Over my long career, I have acquired a very special set of skills...
What career, you may ask? Well, here's my resumé.
Among a number of other jobs, I have worked as the President of the Coalition of Socialists, an Adviser to the Overseer in the Socialist Syndicalist Union, a Legislator in the SSU, and to top this, I almost got elected as Premier of the SSU, but I dropped out of the race before the third election cycle.
Now, of course, the SSU is the ally we have in InterCon, so a familiarity with them, their ideals, and their principles is key to maintaining good diplomacy and creating a strong, powerful alliance.
To address any concerns over my connection to the SSU and possible puppeteering or counterintrests, I will say this:
The SSU is my home, as I see it, and I love it, but my heart and bests interests are within this region. I was invited here by my Model UN Partner, NK, and I'm quite happy with this place. It's pretty fun, it's active, and it's diverse. I am an honest man, if I wanted to be elected to the SSU's MP, I would've asked to, but I'm running here because I don't want to represent the SSU, I want something new. I will represent the Democratika in the fullest extent I can.
To add upon this, I will do polling now and again to see what people think of my decisions and to gauge what they want.
As one of the MPs for the Democratika, I will not try to force my way into Council or otherwise domestic affairs, and instead I will focus on forging strong alliances and passing nonpartisan, democratic legislature that will allow all citizens of the Democratika to keep this region as their home".
Urrangslan's Platform:
"Greetings and salutations people of The Democratika before I begin the bulk of this election campaign, I’m going to show you a nutshell about what I intend to do in the event I get elected. These will be both for home affairs and Interregional affairs:
A. Publish bi-weekly reports of what I’ve been doing to help improve the region and any plans I might have coming up for the region
B. Create Interregional competitions, game nights, best meme competitions and anything else I might make up to create a real comradery with our new allies in InterCon
C. Create legislation that will finally set some things in stone. (For example how elections will work, no more Trifectas)
D. Moreover, ultimately, strive for the democracy that the TDK deserves. I will be doing a lot more than this, but this will likely the main parts of my reign as a representative if I’m elected of course
Let’s truly begin with my lovely Résumé:
The representative of both The United Countries of Carbon and The Medetrannian Commonwealth to The Accenancy Federation, The UCC’s Antropon's Chairman (essentially head of the Legislative branch), One of the duel UCC Regents (A position that is effectively the founder), The World Assembly delegate of the UCC and the temporary Secretary of Inter-regional diplomacy for the UCC.
Concerns:
Now then some of you may still have some concerns with my former friendship with the leader of the great enemy, Amurria and my persistent “death to the Old Guard” joke so allow me to explain myself about these two things:
Amurria: I am going to keep this concise my previous connections with Amurria are gone, my loyalty is now wholly to The Democratika not to TAF not to Amurria to you, the people I will never squander the second chance the council gave me even when the primary purpose of OpSp was never achieved
Old Guard: I do not hate The Council. I think that they are doing an excellent job in their positions. Still, because of this, they have been able to gain valuable experience nobody else has been able to get because of the monopoly they have on their position this is why I want The Council for now and then not enter into the next election and instead allow somebody else to fill in their positions temporarily to give others a fighting chance at victory look at Letskias total wipeout of the competition in the previous election to see why nobody would be able to win against an Old Guard realistically".
New Karelograd's Platform:
"Hello everybody, I’m NK
As a member of the region for almost two years now I’ve learned so much about the interests and opinions of the people
So, I think I would be best for this position because I have a general knowledge for what this regions interests and goals are".
Alayka's Platform:
"Hello and welcome to my TED talk
*scrawled underneath the text, someone added the emojis :F:, :A:, :T:, :D:, :I:, :C:, and :K:*".
