Physical Geography

The Dominion of Canada is a large country in North America, made up of many geographical regions. Canada shares the Great Lakes with The United States of Paramountica which is a major freshwater source for most Canadians. The country hosts the most lakes in the world with over two million. Canada is vast and has varying climates. The north is mostly frozen arctic tundra while the south consists of warmer temperatures. The Rocky Mountains and the Cascade Range also go through Canada as well as vast plains in the east covering much of the country.

Political Geography

The Dominion of Canada has nine provinces and three territories. The provinces are (from left to right) British Columbia, Alberta, Saskatchewan, Manitoba, Ontario, Newfoundland and Labrador, New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, and Prince Edward Island. The territories are (from left to right) Yukon, Northwest Territories, and Nunavut. Each province and territory has its own regional capital city. Canada shares borders with two countries; the United States and Quebec. The majority of Canada's population lives in cities along the border with the United States.
