Power20™ is a biannual publication by NationStates Today, which ranks the top 20 most powerful gameplayers of NationStates. Who will take the title?

Rankings

1. Xoriet (+2)

Xoriet is Praetor of The Pacific and oversees the Legio Pacifica of the New Pacific Order, where she has demonstrated her ability as a commander and diplomat. She maintains a strong presence for herself and the NPO in Gameplay, and is a powerful and charismatic advocate for The Pacific’s ideals. Her extensive networks have been influential in restoring the standing and prestige of the region as well as rebuilding bridges with various others across the game.

2. Roavin (+3)

Roavin is as a prominent defender and a member of both the Grey Wardens and The South Pacific. He has served as Prime Minister and in various other executive roles within the latter, having been a powerful advocate for their official military alignment shift to defenderism - his drive saw the transition through from beginning to end. He was also a strong voice during the coup of The East Pacific, being an active agent in organizing the opposition to it.

3. McMasterdonia (NEW)

McMasterdonia is currently the Delegate of The North Pacific and Commander-in-Chief of the North Pacific Army, commanding strong influence in the World Assembly and a considerable military force respectively. His tireless efforts in leading the region have enriched it internally and allowed it to have greater influence on the wider game, with his clout in foreign affairs and strong contacts allowing the establishment of positive partnerships with many regions.

4. Lord Dominator (+8)

Current or former Minister for the World Assembly department in seemingly every region where such a department exists, Lord Dominator rules the WA empire. He has established himself as one of the go-to people for resolutions, both authorship and getting proposals passed.

5. Kuriko (NEW)

Currently serving as the Delegate for 10000 Islands, Kuriko has maintained a strong presence for both herself and defenders in the Security Council through both Commendations of prominent defenders such as Markanite and authoring liberations of regions facing harm by invaders like Aurelia. She assisted in opposing the coup of The East Pacific by helping to coach Bachtendekuppen to maintain his endorsements and Great Cthulhu on how to clear the ban list.

6. Elegarth (NEW)

As appointed Regent (Consul) and head of foreign affairs (Legatus) of the New Pacific Order, Elegarth has helped stabilize the reputation of The Pacific and reached out to multiple regions to restore some form of relations in the face of losses caused by the mistakes of previous administrations. His well-established connections to major regions, hard-earned credibility and trusted status across NationStates has contributed greatly to his ability to meet this daunting task.

7. Rachael (+13)

Rachael currently serves as Chief Vizier of Osiris and as a member of The Black Hawks' Hawk Council as Overseer of Blade. She has taken great strides in increasing her own regions' activity and perception, but extends her skills and influence to small raider organisations to teach them the basics for her (no doubt) very evil raider agenda. She is one of the most active raiders and her region-building skills have greatly contributed to the returns of activity in regions she is in.

8. Marrabuk (NEW)

Since the moment Fedele couped The East Pacific, the region’s activities have been inexorably linked to Marrabuk, mostly by circumstance. As Delegate of the region, he has been given the difficult task of leading the rebuilding and rebranding of the region. Whether or not he has been successful, The East Pacific’s activities have set the tone for Gameplay in a stagnant climate.

9. Koth (-5)

Though mostly retired, Koth remains influential in The Black Hawks as a General and a member of the Council Advisory Board. He also serves as a behind-the-scenes advisor in Osiris, putting to use his large experience in the region with irreverent gravitas. He wrote the popular faction proposal that received some positive feedback from site administrator [violet], though nothing has yet come of it.

10. Altino (-8)

Altino continues to stand as a powerful influence in Gameplay for a resume of strong achievements, a strong personality, and a stellar reputation. She now has moved from primarily GCR influence to primarily UCR influence, and is building an up-and-coming region called Karma. She continues to be a beacon in the main game for many players.

11. Cormac (-10)

He doesn't necessarily have to do anything. Cormac has the uncanny ability to be influential anytime he wants, whether you like it or not.

12. Halo (NEW)

Having served as Delegate of The West Pacific for a year and in that time cultivating a strong foreign affairs presence in the Gameplay circle, Halo continues to serve as that presence as their Minister of Foreign Affairs.  His ties with many players due to a good and upright character have enabled him to be in the unique position of being able to manage any future situations.

13. Wymondham (NEW)

Wymondham has risen in stature through a presence built up by a position as Vizier of Foreign Affairs in Osiris and the Public Relations Director of NationStates Today, an interregional newspaper that has garnered much attention and survived for a year despite initial predictions to the contrary. Ties formed during this time have enabled Wymondham to increase his sphere of influence and participate fully in the influential circles of Gameplay.

14. Bachtendekuppen (NEW)

When The East Pacific’s future seemed in question due to abnormal actions by Fedele’s government, Bachtendekuppen was already reaching out to allies and friends to rally them in preparation for a coup. As the primary gatherer of outside support for The East Pacific, his well-established connections within Gameplay was crucial to building an opposition coalition to Fedele. His regional status strengthened the resistance in the dramatic days preceding the coup.

15. Sylven (NEW)

Ironically beginning her career in Lazarus under an assumed identity known to most as ‘Imaginary’, Sylven has grown to become one of Lazarus' key players and recognizable faces. Sylven has served through all of Lazarus, having recently been elected as its Prime Minister.

16. JoWhatup (NEW)

JoWhatup has risen rapidly as a raider in the last six months, consistently bringing activity to his regions and occupations. Currently a Sergeant in The Black Hawks and Khan of Lone Wolves United, he has held onto important positions while most of raiding was quiet in mid-2019, a true testament to his immense dedication. He takes a strong role in the raider sphere through his many contacts, leadership, and consistent activity.

17. Aynia (NEW)

From the region of Caer Sidi, Aynia has emerged as a champion of entertainment over conventional R/D gameplay within the UCR sphere. As a result, she has become an increasingly influential voice in her spheres of involvement.

18. HEM (-8)

HEM is well known as the founder of Europeia, but his influence extends well beyond his home region. He is a charismatic and approachable leader and a go-to resource for many regions seeking advice on both in-character and out-of-character administration matters. He is a widely-trusted individual who has considerable contacts in both UCRs and GCRs, which has assisted in keeping both him personally and is region influential on the world stage.

19. Anabelle (NEW)

Anabelle’s time as Pharaoh of Osiris has, in some ways, shown a more easy-going and sociable side to the region. At the same time, she's proven herself capable of handling tough situations, making Osiris both stern and subtle under her strong and light-hearted leadership. Over the last six months, she's proven herself to be highly influential in Gameplay, though she might be too humble to admit it.

20. Frattastan (NEW)

From The Rejected Realms’ legislature and culture all the way to the executive, Frattastan’s voice echoes most loudly. This works in conjunction with his influence within The Rejected Realms Army, which he helps keep active after its more than 16 years of work in the defender sphere. His ability to work behind the scenes as a mediator and problem solver interregionally, both within defenderdom and outside of it, helps cement his global influence.
