The international airports of the country are served by the major airlines of the world, with flights from all around the world to San Giovanni. The main and largest airport of Montevento is the Spalla International Airport, named in honor of Mauro Spalla, a very important and influential Doge of Montevento, who served the nation for 24 years. The airport was built in 2007 and has the capacity to handle 9 million passengers a year.

The airport has a large parking area built for over 1200 vehicles. This terminal building has four jetways, separate floors for arrivals and departures and a large viewing area on the top floor. It has been cited as one of the most efficient and traveler-friendly airports in South America and the world.

The airport is located 19 km (12 mi) from downtown San Giovanni. The airport is served by public transit and a private taxi service which connect to all of the capital cities of the Provinces of Montevento (San Giovanni, Nuova Firenze, Thorntoria, Cosimia and Villa Pioviosa), allowing to reach one's final destination with a certain ease. The trip time to San Giovanni by car is 3045 minutes, while by bus it is 1 hour and 15 minutes. The cost of the trip depends on the destination point and is arranged in the airport or booked online.

Local flights can also be booked from Spalla International Airport to several cities in Montevento. These services are provided by Vento, a low-cost state-owned airline that operates throughout the territory of Montevento. Due to the great regularity and quality of the service, this way of knowing Montevento can be very good for those with limited time.

By Boat
For sea lovers, it is possible to reach Montevento by ship. There are many national and international passenger ship and ferry companies that link the main ports of the Caribbean with Montevento. Numerous cruises that depart from different parts of the world include Montevento as one of their destinations. Most of them arrive at the Port of San Giovanni, but some also usually go towards the Port of Nuova Firenze. Due to the proximity of Montevento with the main tourist destinations in the Caribbean, many times several cruises make stops in San Giovanni before continuing to their destinations.

Transport across rivers is essential in Montevento to be able to access the most internal areas of the country, where the dense jungle prevents land connections from being easily established. Most of the tourist destinations in the Jungle of the Riserva Naturale Nuova Italia require a boat trip to reach them.

These services are provided by a wide range of small businesses, which can be hired in several ports on the main rivers of the country for a very low cost. Many times these companies also offer discounts of between 25% and 50% on tourist tickets. The State of Montevento owns Fiuma, the main provider of these services. Trips with Fiuma are always accompanied by the best service on board, along with tourist guides that will provide you with all kinds of interesting data while travelling through the country's rivers.

In addition to the ways already mentioned above, travelling inside Montevento is very easy. The public bus service is very comfortable and optimal for tourists with a low budget, being able to check the routes and schedules through the Andiamo! application available to download for free in most mobile devices. These coaches offer all the services and facilities necessary for an excellent journey, and of course offer services to and from the major cities such as San Giovanni, Nuova Firenze and Alcadell.

View of San Giovanni's Coast during the "Le Notte delle Luci"[/box][/floatleft]

The Province of Costa Grande (English: Big Coast) is one of the five constituent provinces of Montevento. It is home to more than 2.240.000 Monteventani citizens but it is also the smallest province, with 34,947 km of total area. The capital and most populous city of the province is San Giovanni, who also officiates as the capital of the Republic of Montevento.

Getting to Costa Grande is very easy, as it is home to the largest port in the country, in addition to the main airport of Montevento, the Spalla International Airport. Once in the province, moving through it is very simple too, as the public transport service connects all major cities and points of interest for a very cheap price.

Costa Grande is a very popular tourist destination, both for family tourism or as a beach getaway to enjoy the sun with friends or a special one, with the addition of a wide range of daytime and nighttime fun, being a reference as a destination for young people around the world for its busy nightlife. It also offers a wide variety of water sports, stunning sunsets and an excellent gastronomic offer.

Annually the "Le Notte delle Luci" is celebrated in the province on August 6, being one of the most important parties in Montevento. The main attraction of the event are the fireworks that can be seen from the coast of several cities, especially from San Giovanni. Although the use of fireworks is prohibited in Montevento, this is one of the few events that have obtained a special permit for its use.

In addition to the city of San Giovanni, the province of Costa Grande has several smaller cities that, although they do not have such a busy nightlife, offer a perfect place to rest and go to the beach to sunbathe, or simply observe the landscape.

View of Hispindia's Coast during summer[/box][/floatleft]The Province of Fiume D'oro (English: Golden River) is one of the five constituent provinces of Montevento. It is home to more than 1.900.000 Monteventani citizens and it's the second smallest province, with 36,711 km of total area. The capital city of the province is Nuova Firenze, which is also the most populous city in the province and the second most populous in Montevento.

Fiume D'oro is a very diverse province, offering many different activities. This place is considered as the educative capital of the Republic of Montevento, since most of the private universities are located in the City of Nuova Firenze, including the prestigious Public University of Montevento. Due to these reasons, Nuova Firenze is where most of the country's students reside. The city of Nuova Firenze offers a unique opportunity to do educational tourism, as most universities offer cheap and short courses on various topics.

However, perhaps the most important and the main attraction of the Province of Fiume D'oro are its beaches and its small but beautiful cities along the Atlantic coast. These offer an ideal place to spend a relaxing holiday alone or with family, taking advantage of the tranquility and serenity of being away from the big and busy cities.

Cities like Santadras are very popular among the wealthiest tourists, since the facilities of the small town offer all kinds of luxuries but maintaining the minimalist and classic style that characterizes the coast of Fiume D'oro, all within steps from the best beaches and minutes from beautiful natural parks.

Other cheaper alternatives are the city of Alcadell, a modern city centered around port activities, which has the third largest population of Montevento, or other cities such as Hospindia or Tadolid, which are very similar to Santadras but with fewer luxuries, although always maintaining the warmth and beauty that characterize this area of the country.

Sunset in Thorntoria's streers[/box][/floatleft]The Province of Terra Nuova (English: New Land) is one of the five constituent provinces of Montevento. It is home to more than 1.000.000 Monteventani citizens and has an area of 83,534 km in total. The capital city of the province is Thorntoria, named in honor of the English Captain Robert Thornton, who organized the first Italian expedition to northern Brazil and the Amazon river under the orders of Ferdinando the First of Tuscany in 1608.

Unlike the rest of Montevento, the main attractions of Terra Nuova are not its beaches, parties or its excellent landscapes. It is its history what makes it unique and an excellent tourist destination for foreigners. This province is the birthplace of Montevento, as these were the territories that Captain Thornton found in his first expedition to the new world under Italian orders, and it was here that the first city of the country was raised, Thorntoria.

All the cities of Terra Nuova are protected by the government in order to preserve the colonial architecture of hundreds of years ago. This is especially true in the city of Thorntoria, which has been declared a National Historic Landmark by the Government in 1987, so any type of change to the buildings and streets of the city is prohibited. This resulted in a city in which it seems that time has stopped in the colonial era, making it ideal for those who seek to know the past.

The city of Altacchia also offers a gastronomic offer like no other city can give you. The cuisine of Montevento is strongly influenced by the Italian, but with a unique touch that makes it different but still resembling the most iconic italian dishes. Altacchia is home to the best restaurants in the region. Among the most recognized dishes of this city, there are different types of pasta, such as Ravioli, Canneloni, Tortellini and the specialty of the city, the Gnocchi. It is also impossible to leave Atlacchia without trying their delicious Gelato.

Kaieteur Waterfall in the Municipality of Potaro[/box][/floatleft]The Province of Essequibo is one of the five constituent provinces of Montevento. It is the second largest province with a total of 142.054 km, but despite its large size, it is the second least populated province with only around 330.000 people living on it. The capital city of the province is Cosimia, a little city built in the north of the Province, where the rainforest that covers most of it is not very dense.

Essequibo is home to the Kaieteur Falls which are the world's largest single drop waterfall by the volume of water flowing over it, with a height of 226 metres (741 feet) and an average flow rate of 660 m/s (23,400 cubic feet per second), which also make it one of the most powerful waterfalls of the world. They are located on the Potaro River in the Municipality of Potaro near the town of Porto Potaro, in the center of Essequibo's rainforest.

The falls are the main tourist attraction of the province, with hundreds of tourists arriving every day to see the wonders of Kaieteur and hear the story about how the falls received their name, since, according to legend, Kaieteur has been named after an unpleasant old man who was placed in a boat and shoved in the fall by his relatives. Thus the fall was named "Kaieteur", which means "old-man-fall".

Getting to the falls is very easy, despite being in the middle of the rainforest. Tour guides can usually be hired in the city of Cosimia, which can be reached through public transportation in the country from any large city in the nation. The guides will make your trip to the falls an adventure.

The jurney usually start with a boat trip on the Esequibo River until reaching Puerto Potaro, from where it continues on foot through paths between the rainforest, being able to observe all kinds of wildlife and wonderful landscapes, until reaching the falls.

The city of Komori, which is located a few kilometers from the falls, offers very good hotels with all the comforts to rest or eat something after the end of the day.

Rainforest of Nuova Italia[/box][/floatleft]The Province of Nuova Italia (English: New Italy) is one of the five constituent provinces of Montevento. It is the largest province with a total of 165.079 km, but its the least populated one, with only around 230.000 people living here. The capital city of the province is Villa Pioviosa (English: Rainy Villa), named like that after the very common rainy weather.

The Province of Nuova Italia is usually also called as Riserva Naturale Nuova Italia because the Province used to be one of the largest natural reserves in South America, managed by the provinces of Costa Grande, Essequibo and Terra Nuova. However, due to the high autonomy of the reserve, the government decided to convert it into a province in 1991.

Although legally it is no longer a Natural Reserve, the province still retains an enormous amount of laws that protect the environment and the fauna of the place, which greatly restricts the commercial activities and development of the province which partly explains Its small population.

The Province dedicates most of its budget to maintaining the rainforest that covers practically all of its territory in excellent condition, which makes it an excellent place to go on excursions and get to know the nature of Montevento. Guided visits to the rainforest are made every day from the city of Villa Pioviosa for very affordable prices.

Another interesting activity that can be carried out in Nuova Italy is to navigate across the rivers of the province in boats until reaching some of the small towns that are located on the banks of the rivers, such as Lanada, Badandia or Luvento. The locals are very friendly and love when people come to visit their villages.
