Confederation Intervention Treaty 2019
This body,Recognising the civil strife that has plagued Confederation nations in the past months,
Believing that unregulated interventionism has caused unnecessary tensions between Confederation nations,
Understanding that stand-offs between members of the Confederation has resulted in great humanitarian cost,
Hereby,
Defines for the purposes of this legislation "interventionism" as the act of a national or regional entity intervening via military or diplomatic force to achieve various ends;
Notes that intervention within the Confederation should be limited to achieving peace and prosperity in the nation in question;
Permits unrestricted military intervention in member nations by other member nations provided:
The national government of the nation in which the intervention is to take place consents, or
There is a formal alliance between the nations in question;
Mandates that nations of the Confederation offer the following means to quell civil discontent in other member nations, prior to military action:
Diplomatic,
Civil, and
Humanitarian;
Establishes the Confederation State of War System, wherein the War Minister incumbent may declare a state of war in a member nation, with the effects of:
Allowing member nations to apply for dispensation to engage in military intervention in a member nation in a state of war, and
Placing the legitimate government under the protection of the War Ministry.
Reserves the right for the Minister of War to reject any engagement application without reasoning.
