The Cabinet under the wonderful leadeship of Erinor released the following statement following [nation]Heliseum[/nation]'s resignation.

[box]
Fellow South Pacificans,

It is with a sad heart that we must announce the resignation of Helisium as Minister of Military Affairs.

Heliseum has been an exemplary member of the Cabinet.Under his leadership, the ministry undertook several significant initiatives such as the Tidal Force program, an expansion of the South Pacific Special Force's Guide Project, and improving the force's training program. His real life situation, however, has left him increasingly unable to participate in the life and activity of the region and he made his intent clear that he would resign on or around 25th December, 2019. He has, it seems, been completely unable to continue that discussion or post his resignation since that intention was made clear and so it falls upon the Cabinet to make that announcement for him. We thank him for his dedication and wish him well in his real life situation, in the hopes that he will be able to return to active duty in the South Pacific in the future.

In accordance with Article 6(1) of the Elections Act, the Cabinet has elected to appoint Roavin to fulfil this vacancy as interim minister. As a General in the SPSF and with an extensive service record of four terms as Prime Minister and two terms as Minister of Military Affairs, he is exceptionally experienced and will no doubt be able to hit the ground running.

Signed,
The Cabinet of the South Pacific

We congratulate [nation]Roavin[/nation] on his appointment, and wish Heli the best of love....

In the New Years Bash, Discord comfortably beat the RMB in the count up to New Year, winning by almost 2000 points.

A defeated Beepee said, we may have lost the battle but not the war.

The RMB was disappointed by Zessie and Slabbie both siding with Team Discord. As a result, Beepee is planning to lock both up in a dungeon and make them sing Eurovision karaoke for 16 hours straight.

This morning, after careful deliberation, our wonderful Prime Minister [nation]Amerion[/nation] tendered his immediate resignation.

Amerion considered that IRL commitments limited his ability to reach his standards. Amerion stated that becoming Prime Minister was a "pinnacle" of his career.

Amerion's Statement in Full
Fellow South Pacificans,

It is with a heavy heart that I tender my resignation as Prime Minister, effective immediately.

When I chose to run for election, it was on the assumption that this summer break will provide ample opportunity to enact a meaningful agenda. However, real-life events and commitments have overtaken me and has left me in the most unfortunate position where I am unable to give this region my 100 per cent which is a disservice to both my fellow Cabinet members and our community.

To have served the region in this capacity, even briefly, is the pinnacle of my time in the South Pacific and I am only sorry to have failed TSP in not being able to serve out this term. With that being said, I would like to thank the Cabinet for their superb efforts during our term and their understanding and support of my decision. I also wish them and the new Prime Minister all the very best and look forward to the excellent progress which they will undoubtedly make.

Sincerely yours,

Former Prime Admiral General,
Amerion

Nations from around our great region, expressed their shock and grief at the surprise decision.

[nation]Islands of unity[/nation] declaring on discord "Omg nooo".

It was a sentiment echoes by others, such as [nation]Qvait[/nation] who exclaimed "Noooooooooooooooooo!".

Local Councillor [nation]Concrete Slab[/nation] stating requesting the
Supreme Leader "don't goooooooo".

Former Delegate, and local hero, [nation]Tsunamy[/nation] was clearly taken aback by the announcement stating "WTF guys? I got to the gym for one hour and we have a new a prime minister???"

Following the Resignation of [nation]Amerion[/nation], the Cabinet has moved quickly to ensure stability within the region, by appointing [nation]Erinor[/nation] as the new Prime Minister.

The Cabinet issued a statement highlighting the great strengths and experience within the Region.

Erinor, also known as Seraph on the TSPForums, is one of our most beloved Teaspoons, and he instantly received the backing of a large number of South Pacificans in his new role.

The Cabinet's Statement in full

Fellow South Pacificans,

it is with great regret that the cabinet sees Amerion leave as Prime Minister.

Under Article 6.1 of the election act, it is the responsibility of the cabinet to appoint a new Prime Minister if less than half the term remains. After some consideration, the cabinet have unanimously come to the conclusion that Seraph (also known as Erinor) should take on the role of Prime Minister, effective immediately, until the conclusion of the term.

Seraph has cabinet experience, and has previously served for three terms as Minister of Regional Affairs; two terms as Delegate and has also served in the Local Council. Seraph has also recently served as Deputy Minister of Regional Affairs, where he has been a member of the Advisory Council. Seraph is also a member of the Council of Regional Security, and is a long standing and influential member of the region. Therefore, the cabinet appoints Seraph as Prime Minister until the conclusion of the term in February 2020.

Signed,
The Cabinet of the South Pacific
